Well, I haven’t got very far with this, but I totally appreciate you taking the time showing us this. It’s got to be one of my favourite guitar solos ever. (Also is one of the greatest songs ever of course!) Thank you.
thank you once again for sharing your insight and knowledge ... you are a great player and teacher..... so glad your daughter got you interested in playing again....thus getting me up and playing again... with that being said i'll get back to the sweet jane lesson.... CHEERS from providence
Beautiful lesson. One thing I have observed about Robbie Kreiger, though. For this solo, he usually bars the index finger. This makes it easier to hammer on and pull off. Also, to be more of a purist, Kreiger did not use picks. He used his fingers.
My understanding however is that on the studio recording he actually used a pick. I assume it was to make the lead a bit more staccato that it would sound with finger tips.
brilliant . decided to make this solo my first effort at learning tab and had made it to the 3rd riff but started to struggle with timing... hopeully this will push me over the inish line.
Great content sir. Always loved the doors, and you have made it possible someday I might even be able to play them. I've played guitar for 5 and half months now and I find it slightly hard so I'd really appreciate if you can give me a tip besides the most important (practice) to maintain that speed and not fuck it up! I think your experience and talent might help me a bit. Thank You.
Thanks for the sweet tutorial. I have a question on the intro lick at around 7:15. Are you sure that it's 7,8,7,5 on the G string and not 5,7,5,4? They both sound good, but if it's the way you said, do you know why that D# works in A Dorian?
Holy shit, your right! I'll just make a note of that in the description and cover that part again in part two. Instead of redoing it. The audio actually cut out in my master copy. No idea why.
Slowly getting there. That 4th (?) part is the hardest for me to follow. Just tried playing along with Robbie - seems they’re a semitone lower, which is a bit odd. Could be something to do with digital playback I guess. Thank you ongoingly!
@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar No worries dude. The fact that you took the time to transcribe the intro to Sweet Jane means you’re Ok with me. Just out of curiosity. Why did you take such a big break from playing guitar.
Man what a solo. One of my favorites since I first heard back a loooooong time ago.

Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I love The Doors.
Excellent. Thumbs up.
I learnt loads to be fair and I love the way you give us the boxes on the fret board. Cheers!

It's my pleasure. Keep at it!
This Kreiger solo is a study in lead phrasing. You have done excellent work here sir. Thank you.
great lesson nicely paced and not to fast i hate it when people fly through too fast you have barely time to keep up!
thanks - excellent lesson
Thank you ! Great lesson for my level. Advanced in knowledge but clumsy fingers. I'm not physically able to master it, but Im having fun trying.

Thank you. Finally a tutorial that sounds like the record. Do you have light distortion on guitar?
It is very good video.
You plays so good.
And one more good think that you explain.
Thank you, great video.

The timing can be tricky with this one. Good luck with it.
19:50 theres that high riff that it seems like all their songs have

Steven Homan ya D sharp or e flat is the blues
I'm not sure if it was rendering issue or upload one but the audio cuts out at 21:00
Great tutorial btw, just thought you would want to know.

@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar That's a great solution. I'll see you in part two!

As I mentioned in the tutorial, the song was released at different speeds.
@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar Ah, thanks. Sorry, hadn’t clocked that. I think I skipped ahead to the solo itself and missed your intro.
How do you set up the guitar to get that easy pull-off action?
gain is your friend there. some things you can do with the bridge and setting string action
Did you imply that A Dorian was a mode of the C Major scale?!
Obviously should have been G. 😐

5:54
No audio at the end
But what are the amp settings that create that tone ?
Man, it's been so long since I've done this tutorial, I have no idea what I did for tone. Fuzz I'm sure is in there. Reverb and a bit of delay.
1:39 2:30
You need to go slower you go way too fast not a very good tutorial
