- America has an access to justice crisis. Poor, working, and middle class Americans simply cannot afford to hire a lawyer. The situation has become so dire that urgent and drastic measures are necessary to ensure that all Americans are able to obtain legal representation. The answer is deregulating law, eliminating state bar associations, and allowing literally anyone to act as a lawyer or advocate. Whether that person be a paralegal. A graduate student. A legal assistant. An accountant. Whoever can provide meaningful legal services should be able to do so. The alternative - the status quo - is unacceptable. The benefits of this model far outweigh any perceived risks.

So thank you for your video because at least you and some others out there very few see that people who have low- income or is on disability there is no legal help for people like us it's so wrong very upsetting.

I was trying to help someone find a pro bono lawyer in Nevada. She was illegally locked out of her apt. and her 30 yr old Cockatoo taken by management. There was no notice put on her door. Her pets were being taken care of. She arrived back to her apt. the very day her locks were changed. She was told to leave the property. The Apt Mngmt. got away with it too. She lost almost all her stuff. I couldnt find a lawyer to represent a tennant to save my life. Sincerely, Jenny Lucas

@Jonathan Pollard You should seriously create a website with like minded individuals all over the country. I got denied a public defender because I was working a double shift 1 year before applying. At the time of applying I was working less then a full shift do to cuts at work. The prosecutor charged me with something I didn't even have and I have Noone to help me. I went to court by myself. To top it off all this is over me being parked at a park n ride trying to rest after a long travel. This is all so messed up and I have no idea what to do and I cannot afford a lawyer. I'm literally clueless about all of this and have Noone on my side or even a person to give me advice.
We the people need more like minded and kind hearted individuals like you but, Goodluck with all that, welcome to corruption crooked lawyers and helplessness.

Yes low income people and those of us that are older and on disability don't stand a chance I needed a pro bono attorney to represent me so that I would be able to keep my property that was paid off long story there's nobody for probate estate instead people who has homes can about a foreclosure lawsuit on property that belongs to me and my deceased ex-husband our son passed away three years ago only child we had but the grandparents of our granddaughter is forcing me to sell our property to give them half of the money but they have a home this is the only home I had now I'm forced to sell it so the $1,500 that I retained an attorney for she didn't do nothing for me I I thought she didn't possibly prevent me from having to sell my only home I had and I'm disabled and 60 years old so laws about pandemic and people being older and disabled we are supposed to be protected that's a lie.

@@mariaa.5829 My daughter couldn't find a lawyer. The tribe unjustly took her boys. I'm fed up with the bull butter. There was just nowhere to turn in a state that's full of Native American Tribes. My daughter's heart is broken and mine as well.

My sons Terron Evans Jr's life was taken in Potsdam NY but it was labeled a suicide.He moved to Potsdam in June 2020. This is a thought provoking idea. I’m not a lawyer, but I am a licensed engineer. I don’t think the same logic would apply to the field if engineering. On deregulating law, I believe the problem of saying there is no evidence that unlicensed lawyers providing services is not serving the public is hard to argue against, because it’s currently not happening. How do you prevent people who have no business practicing law from preying on those who don’t know any better? Sure the current system isn’t perfect and your criticisms are valid and timely, but it seems there would be a proliferation of bad practitioners if law were totally de regulated. Perhaps there should be a measure of de-regulation and a state registration system where you must register and provide certain info to the state to practice, but not require the bar exam.
🤔 hmm. Well WA State just abolished the BAR EXAM being needed to be a WA Atty.
