Contra Rogue Corps had to be a game being developed and scraped at some point. Then they called it a Contra game to release it. It’s so bizarre.
Yea, all it took was WayForward licensing the IP because Konami clearly doesn't care at this point. Leave it to AA devs to pick up where devs beholden to AAA publishers are slacking.

Not defending konami, but isn't that how most video games got made nowadays? Nintendo don't make most of their games either, they hired other studio (HAL, Camelot, bandai namco, koei tecmo, intelligent system, good feel, grezzo, etc) to make their games

I will only buy the Switch version if they patch the frame rate. All the early reviews I've seen said buy on other platforms if you have console options
for me game crashs on me a lot. but i found a way so it won.t crash. afther you clear a stage don.t press A right away. wait 1 min.

It’s stupid because this is well within the Switch’s capabilities to run smoothly.
They will have my money once it's patched up.
@@Unknown_User174 I don't know if you should believe a patch is going to make this game better on the Switch. They did something similar for River City Girls and going back to it recently, the game still didn't feel any better. That game I know for sure could run better but I heard Unity isn't so great either so it's either that and the Switch or WayForward sucks at utilizing Unity's power.
WayForward was born to make games like this. And I'm so happy they were.

I can already see this game 🎮 doing a bunch of crossovers, TMNT, G.I. Joe: a real American hero, Biker Mice from Mars, the Mighty Ducks TAS, toxic crusaders, and of course... X-Men 97.

The lag in the switch version is a dealbreaker unless it has been fixed. It was awful in the beta.

I love how people still think all Konami makes is either pachinko or gacha games. They just don't really care about the American market as much anymore. Their arcade/PC/mobile rhythm games are alive and well. You can see some of those games at Round1s across America. Their Power Pro baseball series I think is their flagship title? I know some of those games made it over here.
I think Nintendo usually does this but pretty sneaky to not have the video in 60fps so people can't tell the difference...

Indeed. Rogue Corps was a disaster
Rebirth and Hard Corps Uprising were quite good too (Hard Corps is fantastic) but they're more or less lost to the curse of digital storefronts that are no longer up.
Really hoping we get a Contra Anniversary Collection 2 of some sort.

@BB-te8tc Missed out on Rebirth and 4 on the DS but Hard Corps Uprising was alot of fun. The gameplay and visuals was really good.
Downloaded the demo and it already had bugs like not loading, getting stuck on a certain screen. I am not going to buy it until all the bugs are fixed.
I prefer the older style than this one.

The classic original Contra from 1987 is still considered the best version, but the modern version, Contra 2028, also looks impressive.

@@brankojapanac4138 For a retro game of that era I would expect Retro Pixel Art graphics. If you go 3D then go all the way in, not PS2. Looks unlit, no postprocessing, low quality VFX, etc.

They really need to work on the localization/translation. It was better in the 90's. At least when it came to large IPs.

I wouldn't normally recommend a game like if the Switch was 30fps, but then again, does the framerate really matter in this one like all the other games I've seen?

If you’re reading this, DO NOT play this on switch. 30 fps performance does not suit this game at all. Plus, you’re dealing with input delay as well.
30FPS is fine because they have to prevent the battery from draining a lot faster.
