Ok but why do the breathing animations always have to be so overexaggerated? Nobody actually moves as much or as fast as videogame characters just by breathing.
@@Likexner They are overexaggerated because real life breathing is so subtle that in game you won't even notice it, so it would be pointless for the animator to animate something you won't even realize is there.

@@Dorraj True Hostage has been abandoned in the Competitive scene since idk CS S maybe...? so putting more uncontrollable factors into Hostage will not make a difference since the only Players playing Hostage today are most if not all Casual Players
I actually quite liked the CZ hostages. It was really cool that Ritual/Turtle Rock wanted to try something new and interesting. Hostages that would try to escape on their own, and they even responded to you like they were scared. That was WAY cooler than carrying a silent, lifeless corpse around.
Agreed. They were never annoying to me, or my friends. Rather chaotic, but somewhat predictably so, and they added another layer of depth to guarding the hostages, as if you didn't watch a certain route, they could just.. run away.
oh and they also react differently according to your current faction. They'll try to meekly obey their captors if you're a Terrorist (i'm sorry okay, please don't hurt me, it's not too late to surrender) or extaticly waiting for you to save them as a CTs (hey!, over here, help me!, are you gonna try to save us?) but in turn they could also gave away your position if you're going for a sneaky methods.
Why would they make a separate female model with such detailed feet in a game where you cant even lie down in the floor to see it. Clearly Valve knows about that chart, there's something for everyone in Counter-Strike 2. I feel satisfied, thanks Valve.
They look weird. They really need some kind of animation... like this - they are like static props on the map. Imagine if they would follow the movement of CTs with their head or maybe they would mumble for help when a CT is close; but only if the CTs didn't buy the defuse kit. Otherwise; with defuse kit, the hostages would remain silent, but still would have some sort of lively animation.

Next on the in depth lore of the hostages, that they were never canonically rescued because no one plays hostage mode any more. Edit: I know people are going to say that people play Hostage in casual, but if we take the "canon" matches of CS to only be Esport matches (Especially ones that add new stuff to maps) then no one ever played Hostage and the hostages were never canonically rescued in CS:GO
I always wonder what would make hostage mode more fun. Maybe the hostages are at CT spawn, CTs must take them to an extraction site, then defend the site for 45 seconds while the helicopter comes? But then it seems too similar to defuse...
the average cs player model is like half the size of a door, which means they're around 4 feet tall, and run at about 20 miles per hour. Counter-Strike characters are in gremlin mode
I honestly think, the hostages should have themes based on the maps their in. It doesn't make a lot of sense if you're playing office and the hostages are just dressed like prisoners, etc.
I never understood why the hostages were dressed like prisoners. If they are prisoners that are important enough to be targeted by international terrorists, they themselves are terrorists, so shouldnt the CTs be defending them from getting rescued by Ts
In earlier versions of CS:GO, where the hostages had AI similar to CS:Source, they in did in fact wear office attire when in Office. Valve changed them to prison outfits for what I assume was for visibility purposes (orange suits are easier to spot quickly than grey office clothing). Still kind of a lame change given no one plays Office for hostage rescue.
