So I may never flip a tire in a comp, but my new gym has one and it is fun conditioning. I love, love, love getting more insight into the mentality and strategy in strongman comp. Thanks!

Be Carefull on the Tire Filps!I tore a Brachi Radidillis(sp) trying to lift a 700lb tire!Your form has to be perfect!Though if I was rushed to flip a heavy Tire at competition I would still take my time and do it right because The Dreaded Snap City is allways luking around the corner!Good Luck and be safe!

He`s got a couple videos up of himself doing overhead presses with a Trap bar using that same neutral grip to build that same movement pattern

I know this is probably not gonna help now but you can build a semi descent log dirt cheap from scrap metal.

Any tips for when the tire has sharp corners on the tread and it sits flush with the ground? How do you grip it if you can’t get your fingers under the knobs?

Hey Brain, I'm glad you're getting a lot better lately :). I wanted to ask you and I hope, if you can, answer me back because when I go to the gym I normally pan out my workout in 1 hour and 10mins normally, but sometimes at the gym there are fewer people then other days so I only take up 45mins of my usual workout. My question is that should I still take up the whole 1 hour and 10mins or if I can still do the whole workout in much less time I should do it.

Nope, you do the work you are supposed to do on your program, no more, no less. depending on the program

    • @owencallus6236
      @owencallus6236 6 років тому

My program is that video you uploaded on Linear Progression. So it doesn't matter how long I take, what's important is that I finish my training is what you're saying?

If you are able to get your conditioning in then all is good. But still impressive that you can complete that routine in an hour.

Thanks. To be honest it takes me that long because most of the equipment are being used by other people so sometimes I have to wait. But I always get it done because if I don't then I would just go home feeling sad I didn't complete the workout.

owen callus I get that feeling too when I don't get the work done on a bad day. But keep doing what your doing just remember this -

These are great tips...and here I thought you just had to huff and puff and blow the tire over

Yo Brian I'm a big fan of your videos.I just want to ask you why I feel something in my left front delt/rotator cuff every time I do rows of. It feels uncomfortable and I'm scared of doing any row movement because of it. How can I get rid of it? I currently follow alphadestiny novice program and I can OHP around 32 kg, floor press around 52,5 kg and I can pendlay row 42,5 kg and I can only do around 7 bodyweight chin ups.
I get more of a cramping feeling rather than a sharp pain on my shoulder.

Alex Markham I think he already covered this in a video to join as soon as possible. I do not know if there are any spots left now. You better check first.

I've heard you can get large tires for free or very cheap. Is that true? I would have no idea where to look.

Al L i got a big truck tire from the junkyard. I use it as a sled. Long story. Cost me 10 bucks, all I could haul (I just wanted a tire). I hear that you can contact your city or county maintenance or fire dept (try to get the maintenance manager - bring him donuts or something) and since they have to pay to dispose of bad tires, they might just give you a bad fire truck or heavy equipment tire. Haven't tried that one myself though.

Brandon Myers it's the Rehband soft belt. You can get it from Jackal's Gym for about $65-70!

2000grover As long as they arent curling the tire, you arent going to tear a bicep.
