    I've been trying to find more ways to incorporate grip training into my workout because I have the grip of an 8-year-old girl with nerve damage, and here you are with the perfect video. You've been doing that a lot lately.
    *Tom wonders about something*
    *Next day, Brian has video about it*
    Seriously, it's getting kind of creepy. ;) Never thought about gripping a kettlebell that way, though.

      You should find a way to try to use that power to figure out when a tragic event will happen and help stop it. :O

    Love the paper balling exercise, I have patients after hand/elbow surgery do it all the time. Also Get a 5 pound bag or rice or popcorn pour it in a bucket and then dig your hand down into the middle and move it around for 5-15 min. surprisingly challenging. A lot of minor league baseball pitchers do it to strengthen their fingers and toughen up the skin because a blister on a finger of a pitcher is a big deal.

      Go all kung fu and bury pennies or beans in the rice. Find them by touch. No peeking.

    GREAT VIDEO!!! I have been inspired by y’all ever since the video of y’all and Brian Shaw doing grip stuff. I have went out and bought a plate loadable dumbbell that’s 2 3/8”. It’s pretty tough but I’m getting better. This grip training has so many things you can do. I really like the idea of carrying something around between sets.... MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT!!!!

    I tried the kettlebell thing and I managed to work up to 18lbs with my thumb on the round side. The 8kg kettlebell was hard enough, so I decided to stick with that and do a couple of singles with that alongside a whole bunch of failed attempts. It was awesome, thanks Brian!

    During the years I was competing in strongman, these modifications are what I did about 70% of the year, and only specialized in grip events when I'd get about 6 weeks out from a contest. Works pretty well for developing grip strength, without messing up training economy. Good video, man.

    Hey Brian I have bicep tendinitis and was wondering which one of these would be "safest" to do in my current state. I am on the upside of my injury but, I notice my squeeze strength is definitely not where it use to be (pre injury) and I really need it rebuilt for my deadlift.

    I've noticed when I work my grip especially pull ups, heavy farmers walks, deadlifts. When it gets heavier I naturally hold on by fingertips/ top crease in fingers to hold on. Is this just a sign of weak grip strength or is it normal? Thank you!

      Former NY style pizza guy. Rolling dough balls. You take a cut piece of dough and pull it into itself until the outside is a smooth ball with a little tail. Get good, and you can do one in each hand. Couple hundred of those a day and your forearms get HUGE. Haven't done that work in a decade, and my grip is still the last thing to fail.

    • @Dead1Eagle6

      Doesn't necessarily have to be a keg, but I like this idea. Would definitely be a different kind of challenge.

      They already have a cannon ball hanging that they do pullups on.

    • @NeonBornSpartan
      @NeonBornSpartan 5 років тому

      Would that be a grip workout or like a upper chest/shoulder workout? I feel like I would squeeze my hands against the keg, and that bringing of my hands together would come from my chest/shoulders. Maybe i'm overthinking it or not seeing the picture ;p

    Hi Brian. Hope your well. Could I ask a really piss poor favour?
    Could you discuss Krock rows? How they work how to implement them etc. I've tried reading about them online but I'm dyslexic and struggling.. sorry dude I know this is a lame one

    • @zfortyounce
      @zfortyounce 5 років тому

      Hey man, sorry if this doesn't help with the dyslexia but:
      Heavy. Use a weight that would typically be a 8-10 rep max
      High reps. Push yourself to 20-30 reps using body english. The easiest way I have seen it described is to pull the dumbbell like you are starting a lawnmower. So basically, pull the shit out of it.
