    What to do if you're short. Step 1. Cry a little. Step 2. Ignore the tall people(we're not laughing, we're jealous we have to deadlift so much farther off the floor) step 3. Apply effort. Step 4. Repeat.

    This was great! As being on the shorter side in my weight class when watching videos and tutorials by 6'2''+ people you tend to get into the bad habit of training and competition preping like a tall person. When my first competition came up I learned my lesson.

    Recently joined a new gym with strong man implements. Been avoiding the atlas stone for a couple weeks, decided to try it out tonight. Nothing crazy, 90Lbs stone, 4 set of 5 to shoulder. Got half way through my second set of just man handling that stone before I was like "fuck, this is hard, what was that shit Alena said about using your hips?" So I took a breather, re-watched the vid and was able to complete using a better technique. Thanks for all the tips!

    • @timbotemon
      @timbotemon 5 років тому +1

      Hopefully you figured it out by now but I'd pair an implement with your lift day. Farmers and deadlifts, squats and stones, ohp and circus dumbell. That kind of thing. Start with a load you can handle and progressively overload

    Some of your Atlas Stones look like Steel Balls and some look like Concrete Balls. Could you please comment on the difference between steel vs. concrete balls. Also if you could comment on the 17" & 20" Stone of Steel (new product from Elite FTS - $790.00 on sale at $711.00 - seems a little on high side) . At around 1:25 you say skinny people are good at strongman, why’s that? As a 6’3 165lbs guy that would be great news, but what’s the reason behind that?

    • @apo75018
      @apo75018 6 років тому +1

      If you're tall and skinny you generally have some great leverages for the deadlift (long arms, long legs, short torso), which is one of the most important lift in strongman.
