Thank you, so many people don't know if it wasn't for these live events in the beginning there wouldn't be a youtube channel because without their encouragement at these live events is what helped me beable to speak infront of others, talking to yourself in a camera is really hard. And it was also because of events like this that I truly understood that so many people had an issue throwing away produce, that I really did have something God put on my heart to help others.

Hi Amy- I find just cutting the pomegranate crown , just cracking it open a little and then smacking it with a wooden spoon releases the arils (seeds). Afterward, cut along the 5 yellow ribs and roll out the remaining arils with your thumb. ❤❤❤

My husband is so happy I found your fantastic video on UA-cam! We live out on a ranch an hour from the grocery store. I buy produce and before we can use some of these, they are spoiled! We throw so much away! Thanks to you and your information we will be able to keep our produce fresher, longer! You are one smart lady! And love your bubbly personality!

I have a pomegranite tree. Heres how i prep them.
    1) place all the fruit in sink and fill with water to cover several inches
    2) core the fliwer end out like a tomato
    3) score through skins from stem to flower end.
    4) place thumbs in flower end and pull fruit apart into segments. Do this underwater to stop juice spraying.
5). Use fingers to release the seeds. They will sink. Everything else floats.
If desired, you can place a sieve or colander at bottom of sink to make gathering seeds easier.
    6) use a strainer and scoop all the floating stuff to trash.
    7) gather the seeds from the bottom of the sink. Drain, rinse, and remove any unwanted material that got past the strainer.
This method makes the least mess, in my opinion. It also makes it easier to do a sinkful of fruit for juicing and jelly making.

I think the major issue with store produce is all the preservatives sprayed on them or slow ripe chemicals, like APEEL.
Notice that washing that off, helps keep produce fresher.

Hi Amy can I leave my organic apples in a bowl on my table after that have been washed and they have stay out for 2-3 hours to dry instead of putting them in the refrigerator?

    • @TheCrossLegacy

Yes, you can leave apples out if you do not have room in the fridge. They will last longer in the fridge but will do fine on the counter as well.

Enjoying all these tips. Thanks! I was wondering if you need fresh vinegar and water for each fruit or veggie, or if it’s okay to wash multiple items in the same bath.
I’m so tired of throwing away food! My crummy fridge tends to freeze even tho set to a low setting and that limits where I can place produce and even dairy items, so preserving as much as possible in glass seems as tho it might protect them a bit longer… but I already have a number of lockable plastic containers. Are they okay to use, as well?

    • @TheCrossLegacy
      @TheCrossLegacy  Рік тому +2

After you wash something like strawberries you will see by looking at the water why I replace it often, but other items like peppers and lemons I will reuse the water. Just look at see how dirty it is and go by that. By washing the items you are killing off the harmful pathogens and mold and it will help them last longer but in glass it will last the longest.

I have a tree. I find the seeds store well in a quart jar. No water or anything. I purposely do this and they ferment mildly. I test them after a week or two. When it's my favorite flavor, I juice them and make pomegranate jelly.
