I’m a qualified digital marketer and have to say this is a very comprehensive video. The problem I have with anyone thinking they can manage other people’s social media and even SEO is that I end up fixing up people’s messes. I have 12 clients right at this moment that I can think of that used a small home business agency that had no qualifications or background in marketing and thought social media is easy... but there is so much more to social media than what they think or know. You have done amazing mate, but there are a lot of people that take advantage because they use social media personally and they think it’s easy and it gives the industry a bad name. I had to work very hard to show these clients that I wasn’t just taking their money and that I was actually doing the job they paid me to do. I started doing target market research, competitor analysis etc etc which these clients had no idea about but is a fundamental part of marketing.... I now have very happy clients but as I said I have issues with anyone thinking they can do this job.
Yes! This! I took over the social media accounts of 3 businesses that had been using a freelance "digital marketer" who had no prior background in digital marketing. The posts were bland and mostly news articles - surprisingly the businesses had thought this "marketer" was doing a good job just because they were posting articles to their social media pages several times a day!
Origami Umbrella yep that’s exactly right. Several times a day will kill any social media account very quickly!! Lol... it’s funny how people think the more u post in a day the better.... And some of the bad blogs I have read from freelance unqualified digital marketers are sooo bad. One “social media strategist” wrote a blog about how it took their company days to post on all social media’s so said that u should only use 1 or 2 and focus on those lol... she clearly hasn’t heard of social media tools where u can schedule posts and send to all accounts etc..... she had no idea yet is taking people’s money to screw up their business.... it pisses me off!

@@deannahenry1908 I made a script from Jordans 15 min agency book and also had a sheet with potential objections. I prospected a few local businesses, got the owners name and started calling. I think it mostly has to do with tone, I was nervous but after my first call and scheduling that meeting it showed me that its not even that scary. Whats the worst thing to happen? They say no and move on. And possibly luck, the next 10 calls were duds or owner had just left and I added them to the recall list.

I’ve stumbled into social media managing. I managed the social media for my bfs moms business and ever since then I’ve gotten attention from 3 businesses for the job. I haven’t started at any of them yet but it’s going to start up soon. But ya i took all the photos and posted the content for her social media pages and edited the grammar and spelling for posts she made. I wasn’t with her long enough to gain a huge following but I enjoyed it so much and made sure to post everyday. I know the basics of social media and what to post for each platform. I have done both of the first two. Start with the first then when your company is stable and your taxable income is high you buy an investment property. This allows you to reduce your taxable income and weather any hiccup with the property.

Aaron Metz I know the feeling! You’ve just got to jump in and go for it, that’s what I did ❤️ I still freak out before I make a call or do anything but that motivates me to push forward and make more calls so I get used to it and can relax a bit! Hope that helps
Sasookarry Thanks. I mean, a few rejections won’t hurt, there are millions of small businesses to approach. There’s never such a thing as failure because you learn from negative experiences, so you can shape yourself better. What stage are you at with your agency? I would greatly appreciate some more guidance because I’m just absorbing all the information at the moment, I’d like to go in the right direction and just make a start soon!
Approach each person with the assumption that YOU are VALUABLE and that they WILL say YES!! Then, if they say no, SHAKE IT OFF and LET IT GO and approach the next person STILL with the assumption that THEY will say YES! The biggest thing is to not let rejection get to you. It doesn't matter how many people have said no, the next one WILL say YES! Remember that each rejection brings you one person closer to the person who will say yes. This will be a learning opportunity for you that could actually be very good for your social anxiety.

@@deannahenry1908 I made a script from Jordans 15 min agency book and also had a sheet with potential objections. I prospected a few local businesses, got the owners name and started calling. I think it mostly has to do with tone, I was nervous but after my first call and scheduling that meeting it showed me that its not even that scary. Whats the worst thing to happen? They say no and move on. And possibly luck, the next 10 calls were duds or owner had just left and I added them to the recall list.

I have done both of the first two. Start with the first then when your company is stable and your taxable income is high you buy an investment property. This allows you to reduce your taxable income and weather any hiccup with the property.

Sasookarry Thanks. I mean, a few rejections won’t hurt, there are millions of small businesses to approach. There’s never such a thing as failure because you learn from negative experiences, so you can shape yourself better. What stage are you at with your agency? I would greatly appreciate some more guidance because I’m just absorbing all the information at the moment, I’d like to go in the right direction and just make a start soon!
Approach each person with the assumption that YOU are VALUABLE and that they WILL say YES!! Then, if they say no, SHAKE IT OFF and LET IT GO and approach the next person STILL with the assumption that THEY will say YES! The biggest thing is to not let rejection get to you. It doesn't matter how many people have said no, the next one WILL say YES! Remember that each rejection brings you one person closer to the person who will say yes. This will be a learning opportunity for you that could actually be very good for your social anxiety.
