I always recommend the Spigen Glossy or Matte glass screen protector. I use the glossy version. It comes with a plastic alignment frame. Very easy to install. Is it necessary to have a protector? Yup! I've had people smack plastic or metal dangling bits into it. I've hit it with things and I'm very careful. Maybe something falls into it or flys into it. 50$ Canadian to save a very expensive screen. With it.
I saw the Spigen, but it's double the price and I didn't see a difference in the reviews. 🤷♂️ If this one has issues, I guess I'll consider Spigen for the next one.
The cracks were on the screen protector. They are thin and fragile. Still not convinced that screen protectors are worth it. The OG screen on phones and the Tesla are Gorilla glass and pretty tough. I've never used a screen protector on my phones or my Model 3 and nothing bad has ever happened. No scratches, no cracks. Screen protectors diminish the touch sensitivity. A big price to pay for the unlikely event that the screen cracks IMO.
I think the touch sensitivity might be diminished, but not very much - similar to a phone. I went without a case or protector on my last phone, but I ended up dropping it a couple times over the course of the year and inflicted a bit of damage. I definitely put a case on my last one, but no screen protector. Though, tha5's mostly because I didn't see the option when I got my phone and then just never got around to it.
@@DriveElectricWithDomenick Yeah a bumper case is needed to protect a phone from drops. I've dropped my phone countless times and the bumper case stops any damage. Screen is just fine despite no "protector". The Tesla screen can't be dropped so no need to do anything except enjoy it ;-)

I also highly recommend a screen protector, especially if you put dogs in the car like I do.
you put that screen protector on pretty easily. Well, I guess I’ve found my screen protector install guy 😂.
🤣🤣🤣
Dom, you've got a side job for screen protector mounting! You need to hang out your shingle.😂
🤣🤣🤣 I've always wanted to be good at...something!
