Just got my M3 RWD a week ago. I have noticed on most of the videos ( and my own experience) that the "special advisors" do little to help your purchase or give knowledgeable advice. It's the UA-camrs like you Andy that fill in the many blanks when purchasing a Tesla. Tesla is basically an online order system like Amazon.

If you set the regen to low you will get better efficiency by just coasting, because regen is always a loss, you just get around 70% of energy back. This has bee tested and confirmed many times. And if you want stronger regen just use the brake, it regens as well.

Great vid again Andy and my 2022 Model 3 LR was delivered this Sunday! The dealership was MAD teaming with ppl picking up their cars and two Plaids were on deck.....the yoke is crazy! I'm fortunate to have only had to wait 3 months and 2 weeks because I know some ppl who waited 4-5 months to get their "Race Ship". Make sure you guys do a good inspection of your vehicle and use a checklist, I found ZERO issues with the vehicle however, I did not have the charging accessory kit in the car. Tesla has already announced that they would stop providing them but would instead give owners a voucher so they can order one from the website which will take FOREVER due to all this supply chain shortage insanity. I made a big deal about not having the kit and had to "turn up" a little and the next thing I know this kid from the service area came out to my car and handed me a brand new kit. You are gonna want one because it has an adapter for you to use on charging connectors at non-Tesla Super Chargers and it came in handy today at work. We have seven commercial chargers in our parking garage and we get the first four hours free with SemaConnect who provides the charging stations at my work site but I could only attach the charging connector with the adapter (I still had enough juice to get home so no stress if I couldn't juice up).
I have a few questions you seasoned owners can help me with if you don't mind:
    1) How do I view the footage that was recorded in Sentry Mode, and how do I view the dashcam footage?
    2) I plan on having the sides tinted but find no reason to have the rear tinted because the glass roof is just a curved panoramic masterpiece like my Kia K5 was and unlike a normal car there is not hard border to divide the rear window from the roof....so why would it even be necessary? Also I've heard some ppl tint the front and I've never tinted the front window of the past five vehicles I've owned, so can someone tell me if you did for either the front OR rear and why?
    3) I like the Aero rim covers that came on my car which is the silver metallic/gray one but I've seen those glossy black rim covers on Amazon for $200 and it sorta gives the car a different look. Have any of you guys changed your rim covers and if so with what?
Much thanks for those in the community who don't mind sharing.......it means a lot and for those who are still patiently waiting, trust me when I say it's worth the frack'n wait and the more these soul-crushing gas prices rise (the GAO has already said prices will NOT go down this year and will continue to climb) the more happy you'll be with your race-ship.....as long as the power grid isn't down. I really advise you guys to have a gas powered vehicle on hand in case that happens and it will happen so just have a Plan B.....peace!

I only use the wheel covers on long (over 200 k) trips as they are aerodynamic. The gun metal grey wheels under them look fine so I bought a set of plastic Tesla covers to protect the bolts for $40.

We have activated PIN to Drive for theft prevention. Although there’s a minor inconvenience to tapping the PIN each time, that’s far outweighed by the assurance that if we leave our phone in our car by mistake (yes, it happens), a bad guy who notices that our mirrors didn’t fold (!) can’t just jump in and drive away-taking both our car and our means of reporting the theft. (Alas, they could still steal just our phone. :/ )

One additional thing I would mention in terms of maximizing battery lifespan. I've been keeping the battery charged at Tesla's recommendation of 80%, but really it's up to however much range you need on a regular basis, what your charging situation is like, and what battery type is in your car. Lithium-ion batteries are healthiest at about 50%, and keeping it as close to 50% as possible and avoiding charging/discharging more than +/- 20-30% will maximize its lifespan. My commute is pretty light, and I don't discharge more than 10% a day in the cold, and I don't drive everyday, so I've recently started keeping the charge at 70% and might even drop to a max of 60% soon.
But, people have different opinions about this. It may or may not make a significant impact on lifespan. In fact, iirc I was told by Tesla that the battery cells charge and discharge in a cycle, kind of like a queue, so that you don't charge/discharge the same cells constantly, so idk exactly how much the charging maximum affects the battery health. But this was a while ago so I could be misremembering. Ultimately, set the charge to meet your needs because the battery is engineered to do so, but be aware of your battery's chemistry and what's best for it as well.

Note that in some places (maybe all?) you have to have a special bumper sticker to use HOV lanes. I guess that's because the police have a hard time telling which vehicles are EVs and which aren't, especially with all the new models coming out.

FYI, for newer cars (my M3 is from June 2021) you can't adjust the regenerative braking, it's always on standard. Also, for even newer ones...if you have an LFP battery, it should be charged to 100% as often as possible. With the LFP you should just set it to 100% and forget it. The 80/90% thing for daily driving only applies to NCA batteries.

What’s the main difference between the two Speed Limit Offsets? I noticed you only covered the first one in this video.
Your videos have been so informative. I just got my Tesla a few days ago.

Great video. Ive had my MY for a year. I’m not happy with the software update to the UI. Can you do a more in-depth video on the dashcam? I have mine set to record upon a honk, but I understand that this can also stop the recording. Plus, given the number of road-rage incidents out there, I don’t want to risk drawing attention or making someone angry. There used to be a small camera icon on the top of the screen to record… but now its gone. Thanks so much.

I have the navigation volume muted except when I'm in an area that I'm not familiar with, then I turn it up enough to hear the directions.
Instead of a guest driver profile, I use valet mode, which enables other desirable functions of the mode, such as hiding navigation, locking the glove box, etc.
    Definitely always use PIN-to-drive.

I thought I saw valet as a setting but you went past it quickly and didnt talk about it. Maybe you could do a settings part 2, a deep dive? I would be curious to know about things like this. Thank you.

Thanks for the share upper! I ordered my 2022 Model 3 LR on Feb 24th with an EDD window of May 18th-June 15th and I can hardly wait for my “race ship”. Two questions: 1) Did your “race ship” arrive early, on time, or late? 2) Did Tesla deliver it to you home, even if you were less than 200 miles from a Tesla dealership?

    Hi Andy,
    Two questions brother.
    1. I must be doing something wrong. Because when i set chill mode on one profile it forces it on both??? What did i do wrong? lol
    2. When I use car after my wife, as the car recognizes me and my phone, it unlocks the door, However, the car doesn't adjust seats/mirrors/... to my profile. I must squeeze in and press the top of screen and select my profile. I'd maybe expect this if we both got in car and I was driving... but not when I'm alone.???
    Cheers,
    Eric

Great Video. One comment based on our new RWD, LFP battery is recommended by Tesla to be charged to 100% at all times. Should note that on any future vids...

Regarding "Guest Profile". In my opinion it is way safer to use "Valet Profile" for places like service and people you don't know. It limits a number of accesses to your car's info and operation.
