The red ones give doubloons, it's the yellow ones that give 10k. Understandable mistake for newbies. Don't feel bad, it seemed like you had fun along the way, and that's what really matters.

Theres a second lind of reaper chest marked with a golden marker, that one gives u a bunch of gold 👍

@@CaptainRolfey there's also a few other types of red icons, if u see no beam in the sky from a reapers chest u know it's a fort key. Like one for a fort of fortune or regular skelly fort 👍

There are two types of reaper chest, the first is the kind you sold which sell for doubloons & rep, and the second kind will have a gold lid and a brighter/more gold-white beam which sells for 10k(25k if you have a lvl 5 emissary), plus rep👍

I see a lot of people saying you can exchange doubloons for gold. You should however never do this since they can be spent on event items, really cool cosmetics and rare voyages!
Yeah personally I’ve found the currency exchange for doubloons to gold to not be worth it. I’d much rather save them for other things like cool cosmetics as you said

Dabloons are quite valuable when you hit pirate legends
For real, 1,800 just for one hairstyle. I check every beach for ashen guardians now.
You know, you can trade in the blue coins (doubloons) for gold at an npc called Larinna. She stays outside of taverns. She also gives a ton of good quests and other things you can buy from her. And if there is a special event that needs you to purchase quests or what not, she will most likely have them.

It’s 25 doubloons for 2500 gold,
35 for 5000,
50 for 10000.

Great thing now is you can see the chest moving across the map and infront of you since the beam moves with the chest now. Makes for easier steals

Sounds like he got them mixed up. It’s the yellow Reaper’s bounty that gives you the gold.
Btw did you know that the reaper chests can tell you roughly how many crews there are on the server? If areaper chest spawns, there are at least 3 crews including yours. If none spawn then there’s only two crews max. Also not sure about this but from what I’ve heard reaper bounties are likely to spawn if the server is full given the value of it.

Reapers bounty is what your after
Gold marker has gold in the reapers chest, red mark has dubloons, both are increase value wise with a reapers grave 5 flag active

Yeah, there are "Reaper Chests" and "Reapers Bounty" the chest gives 10 doubloons, and the Bounty gives 10K, the chests are marked with a colorful spiral in the sky, the Bounties are marked with a golden spiral.

You're looking for the reapers bounty. Marked by a gold icon. The red chest is just dubloons. However, 50 dubloons can be traded for 10k gold!
I spent about an Half hour finding it and bringing it to the outpost because its not on the map, I was so exited because I had got it before but it got stolen.

50 of those doubloons are worth 10k coins from Larrina outside any outpost tavern, would save them for cummunity day like most others for the multiplier tho, you get 25k for each 50 doubloons, GL!

Their is actually another special chest but you can only find it in the ashen winds area and it is very rare and you can sell it to the reapers I belive
Reaper bounty give you 10k and the chest give u dablooms but fly reapers it helps
Basic Reaper Chests give out doubloons. Reaper's Bounty Chests give out the gold you were expecting
The reapers chest gives 25 doubloons, the reapers bounty (golden version) gives the 10k
You need the yellow/golden one
the repers bounty aka the yellow version gives gole not the red one

There is a special cutlass that you buy with 1,500 D. Sadly it’s pretty much a parrot cutlass reskin.

You can use an emissary flag, a high reputation, and charge up the chest to get more out of it.

10,000 gold isnt worth going out of your way for if its on route then sure but the price gouging im sea of thieves is terrible when it come to the price of cosmetics and items
That gives u dubloons and its a called chest but if u want the money you need to search another chest like that one that is called reaper's bounty

Because that’s the wrong chest there’s the reaper bounty and then there’s the reaper chest the reaper chess gives you 10 doubloons. The reaper bounty gives you 10 K gold.

And then you realise that 50 dabloons id 10k of Gold at larinna
To me it’s never really felt worth trading in doubloons for gold at larinna

@@CaptainRolfey You can reroll Captain vaults with gold horders emissary directly at Paradies spring. Just reroll and Take the gold cases dropped by the skeletons when diggin Up the map piece

I think if you're sailing the Reaper emissary flag you get more from it. You should also get more if you hand one in during a community and double loot weekends
