Small tip. you can grab the ladder of a skeleton ship and wait there for the skellies to load the canons. when you’re holding the ladder they will not be able to shoot you

You're welcome for the tip ;) Only came across the fact 1 wraithball per crate wasn't implemented was due to farming OoS fleets for the sails on day 1, started spreading it ASAP. Just a pointer, only Flameheart's flagship drops the cannonball crate with wraithballs, which requires 75 in Order of Souls, and only has a small chance to spawn, and as with their potential, you realistically need 4-5 to make contact in a row, and in good spots, otherwise they'll deal terrible damage. I suggest aiming top deck where the mast's are, as it has the potential to de-mast in one shot, or crack and provide multiple holes in the hull still.
Cliff: sailing into the boss wave of the encounter is gonna leave you with more plot holes in your ship than the average episode of My Hero Academia". Me: *hysterically wheezing*
Hey Cliff, I had an idea for a video in the future. Visit every island in the game, collect whatever loot you find, and do whatever event is on that island, i.e FoF, Skellie forts, and ashen winds. Just an idea, like a road trip type thing XD
The Cannonball Crate of the Damned only drops from the Burning Blade ghost ship. So if you don't see flameheart sails on the boss wave you won't get it. I also heard that they nerfed Wraith ball spawns in season 8. I heard it would only drop one wraith ball, but seeing as you got two in the video... I don't know what the case is. Most I've had in one was 4 I think.
hey cliff i just completed my first fort of fortune solo and you where the cause of that since you inspired me i even gave the treasure away to an attacker. the feeling of completing the fort of fortune for the first time was exaspurating
i like watching you... it always works for you (cause you have trusted friends) for me i just lost two hours of loot to a random player who thought the ship that fired at us near the outpost was friendly
I watched the intro of this video, then I paused it and the I went to solo the Phantom fleet. I got my phantom cannonballs and I waited for my friend who arrived while I was selling the loot I got. We dived as servants of the flame and we sunk the first time, but we kept the cannonballs and some of our food. We kept trying and we managed to sink 3 ships, 2 of the using the noughty cannonballs from the Burning Blade. Thanks for giving me the idea for my session, I'm going to finish the video now

Heads up about the no shoot cannon glitch. It is triggered whenever you portal hop into another session with the tall tales. Found that out the first day of season 8. It can be fixed if you scuttle your ship or make join a new session. So far I assume it still hasn’t been patched yet.
Rare knows about it, and I think it's intentional. It's only if you use the final checkpoint on the Captains of the Damned tall tale to portal hop, then cancel. If you run through the tall tale start to finish, your cannons will still work. I have also tested out A PIrates Life tall tale and that one is just fine. I think it's Rare's way of preventing people from being overly stocked up for the pvp on demand sessions. I used to use that checkpoint as a bathroom break while solo playing before season 8 but now I'm back to using a Pirates life. At least I still have a way to portal hop on demand. Edit: I forgot to mention, I specifically sent a report ticket regarding the cannons not working. Usually they ask me follow up questions but on this particular topic, I got a completely different and quite aloof response, and they closed the ticket. My spidey sense was telling me they knew exactly what was going on but weren't willing to admit it, reminds me of the time they removed the fleet world event for a few weeks, no matter how many people inquired about it, Rare danced around the question.
The cannon’s not firing is a bug caused by leaving the Jack Sparrow tall tales. Easy fix is putting all your resources in a storage crate, caching it somewhere and scuttling the ship. Scuttling fixes everything and you only have to come back and get your supplies from the storage crate. Just make sure you don’t scuttle while representing a faction otherwise you’ll get booted off to a different server

I don't know if you read these, but a small tip. The waves are worse on brig and sloop if your sails are full raised. It probably wouldn't have been as bad if you were going a bit faster. :)
Oh I remember a very annoying fight. A crew I was fighting had 8 sleep cursed cannonballs and 3 venom cursed cannonballs. They used them all on my sloop (I was solo slooping) This made me hate cursed cannonballs because If you have enough of them they are too OP
Just to help people who want to get guaranteed wraith balls on oos voyages. They only spawn on burning blade, which means not every voyage you have will spawn it. to know wheter it is a burning blade voyage you can keep a lost shipment or vault voyage in your inventory. if the oos voyage is to the right of it, it's a burning blade. if it's left discard it and buy another one (youll have to use the bell glitch or alt f4 to dpawn a different fleet voyage). It works because the burning blade as a voyage spawn has been added later to the game than the other voyages and thus places it in cronological order

That's where I learned of this, and likely every cheese method there is in the game. the wraith thing is slow as a solo but if you get a full gally you can have 4 people rolling for those voyages. Last bit of info:the game does not care about patchnotes. You can still get more than 1 wraithball
I today gave my Lootchest (filled with 4 Hours worth of loot) to two Athena guys on a Sloop ...i was solo trying to get some.lvls in the merchands as i only need 9 more for PL.... And those guys where really cool and happy ^^
When cannons dose not work on your ship, park at a island and fill your storage crate with your supplies, scuttle your ship, leaving a man on the island with the supplies. Your new ship cannons should work fine again. Saving the supplies and the server your on.
If you are having trouble finding Skelly Ships, check to see if the World Event is up. The Skelly Fleet event blocks radiant Skelly ships from spawning.

Getting wraith cannonballs depends on the final ghost captain , if its a burning blade you will get it , if its just a ghost captain you will not , you can tell wich one is it by their sails .
I’m pretty sure it isn’t ring if you get the cannonball crate. You need the burning blade order of souls mission to get them. Which requires lvl 75 order of souls. Or at least I’m pretty sure
@@CliffTheStoryGuy probably one of the three was the burning blade you used to be able to check(idk about now) but you could check your owned adventures and if the voyage for the order of souls was it the back it would be 100 precent be the burning blade

With a brig you could have everyone in your crew fire 1 cursed cannonball each and it would be an anchorball a sleep ball (don't know what it's called) and a wraithball

I'd argue that the riggingball is actually more powerful than the anchorball With an anchorball, the crew can immediately begin raising their anchor With a riggingball, the crew must wait for the effect to wear off before being able to drop their sails And when combined with the chainshots, the riggingball makes it so that the other crew can't even begin pulling their mast back up until the riggingball's effect wears off

Their spawn rates are heavily nerfed too the point that you can only find 1-2 cursed balls and they are not even a garuntied spawn at each barrel

Its only possible for a Burning Blade to spawn on Lvl.75 Oos Ghost Fleet Missions and then the Chances are like 15:1

For sure, it's just more of a set-up to get to the point where your prey stops moving which is why I believe people prefer the one-and-done anchorball
