It's not about the whiskey, it's the people you share it with!
#bourbon #whiskey #whiskeytube
I really appreciate when you mention secondary pricing and inform people that pretty much every bottle isn’t worth secondary prices.
with turkey having a large operation, im hoping this will be one of those bottles that actually show up on shelves.
Me too... not holding my breath though
The Taters will buy all the stock and keep in bunkers for years in hopes they can sale them for 5-10x retail in a year are two
4 months later 🤣🤣
I found two bottles locally one for $799 and one for $599
We need to stop measuring the brands by their limited releases and only on their ability to deliver quality and value at scale. Wild Turkey is at the top of the heap for this reason but unless WT makes this widely available it’s just another bourbon money grab just like the rest of em. That said if I find it at MSRP great but otherwise nah.
How is it another money grab? They priced it at $70. They don’t make anything off of secondary. This logic makes no sense.
"Why not just make ten the highest?"
"But this goes to 15"
Awesome! Always enjoy a spinal tap reference.
No.. you can't touch it. Don't even look at it. Here.. get out of the room. #explodingdrummer
And it actually went to 15 this year in 2024!
I love me some Russell's 13, RR10 is my daily drinker... but how the heck do these guys pull a dozen flavors off the nose? I get 2, MAYBE 3 beautiful flavors but I couldn't imagine getting another 10 flavors beyond that.
Find someone who looks at you the way Jason C looks at a bottle of RR 13. I was lucky to get to have a couple glasses at a bar, and it's wonderful. But I definitely agree w/ your rating on secondary. I'd go to $100, maybe a little over. Great review man, cheers.
170?
Love the Turkey products, now let's find this one before the hype makes it rare and expensive.
Too late
Already to late ...
Absolutely zero chance that hasn't happened already.
I texted my friend who is the liquor manager for a big liquor store. He said the regulars are already asking for it, so it sounds like getting one in the “wild”, no pun intended, will be very difficult
@@mrcat3493 unfortunately, I think you are spot on
I have yet to see this in Georgia. Hopefully soon. Seems like Georgia is always the last to get stuff like this.
I hate to disagree, but living in Florida, we never get this type of product. I’ve actually driven right across the border to Georgia, around St. Marys and as far as Brunswick to pick up harder to locate bottles.
@@elroyalblue Florida stacked with these
"Reserve and Rare get it on and make this!" I'm crying. Thanks, Jason. Keep 'em coming.
Great review! We really like Russell’s single barrel store picks, so hopefully we can get a bottle to compare. Cheers!! 🥃🥃
It may be that RR single is a better option overall as it is more available and still tastes great...Proof is the only difference i guess
I love, love, love smelling an unwashed glass the next morning 😎🤙
TW just put this in their "Summer Priority Access to Rare Whiskey" lottery at $299. So much for $70 MSRP.
Wild Turkey is great. The flippers will be all over this one. I’ll stick to Russell’s Reserve 10 and Rare Breed, if I don’t find one of the 13’s at retail. No way for secondary.
Great review as always.
Love the video!
I want one but no more than $125 is what I'm paying for it. And only for a mom&pops store.
I scored a bottle of this at the monthly raffle for 75 bucks. Can't wait to crack it open tonight.
Watching this in late 2024 at the MSRP of $70 like HUHWWHHAAAAAATTTT???!
This stuff sounds so good. I love the Rare Breed so I can imagine. Leave some in the glass to sample next day? Like in the morning? Hmm. Nice camera work and tunes. Kings of Leon comes to mind.
There are very, very, very few limited bottles we really want and would be sad about missing out on. This is one of them. Sure hope we find one. Excellent review Jason!
Let me know if you do, been looking for over a year here in NC, traveled to Tennessee and Kentucky...no dice!
@@jamesmolleur2196 it’s long gone in TN. Secondary flippers scooped them all up to then a profit. We’re waiting for the next wave as this should be an annual release.
@@stuffandwhiskey Keeping our fingers crossed!
@@stuffandwhiskey I figured that was the case. It's too bad that people can't just share/enjoy bourbon, but instead seek out to profit from it's rising popularity. The exact opposite of it's designed intention IMO.
Killed a bottle of this today at a whiskey bar. I don't know how low your bottle currently is and I would agree with most all of your notes except on the palate. This final pour was a cherry bomb flavor wise.
My 1st impressions where that Rare Breed could be a good stand in...and I poured some when I got home. And I gotta say that RR13 is a beast in a tuxedo. I spent an hour with my 3+ ounces and enjoyed every minute. So consistently good in every way.
Agree! @Javier Acosta !
At home, I sampled RR13, RR10 SiB, RR10 SiB Rye, RR10, and eventually - out of curiosity - my freshly cracked bottle of Rare Breed.
Rare Breed was the only thing that came remotely close to the Russell's Reserve 13. I'll be buying more Rare Breed and Rare Breed Rye. If I see the RR13 at retail, I'll get that as well lol
Been looking hard for this around MSRP for a long time but I won't pay pirate secondary prices.
Just watched your review of Russell’s 13. This must be a very limited release bottle because the only bottle I’ve seen of this in Minnesota is $499 so my question is being this is the only bottle I’ve seen in nearly a year of bourbon hunting is it worth nearly $500 before tax? Great video by the way and thank you very much.
Ain't no way in hell its worth 700 bucks lol ... 😆 feel sorry for folks that are paying that kinda price this was MSRP 70$ Bucks and even cheaper to manufacture lol 😆 probably cost them boys 15 bucks to make it ... talk about a price hike
Am I stupid or do I just see 500-700 prices for this thing?....damn I am sticking with RR single barrell instead i guess
Another bottle I'm not holding my breath for.
To answer the question. It was a big let down. I expected good things and was severely let down.
please blend a russel single barrel and rare breed and blind it against RR 13
I will be on a livestream next week
Did I just watch two bottles procreate? I....I think I liked it.
I look forward to never finding this down here in Dallas lol! Great review as always!
This was the biggest fiasco in OH. Lots of shady things went down
if you leave a pour over night do you cover the glass or leave open ?
Okay, so my current favorite bourbon I have is an 11yr old Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Pick so this sounds awesome!!! This just went to the top of the hunting list!
I could tell you were in love from the music in the intro lol…. Dying to find it at msrp, hope it’s around
Got one yesterday for $60. Not sure if it's 2021 or 2022
Comes back like acid reflux? Lol
Great review as always
13 is my lucky number
Can’t wait to try it here in Florida 👍🥃
Great review. I can’t wait to hunt this one down
So if I don't find this I guess I'm doing a 50/50 blend of Rare Breed and RR CNF.
I just picked up a RR SiB store pick and mixed is about 50/50 with Rare Breed and it's awful good even drinking it immediately without letting them marry. Couldn't resist Jason's cheesy bourbon porn at 9:40!
Great stuff from the king of B roll
I'm with you on the Russel's Single Barrel. Really appreciate the quality of your videos man.
Nope it's all hype
What is the mashbill?
Great video! I actually blend RB and RRSB along with RR10 to get what is to me the best of them all. 50% RRSB, 30% RB and 20% RR10.....try that and you will be blown away.....I hope :)
Scored my second bottle for the bunker today (at $79.99). I'm a happy man. I'd spend up to $100 for this. Maybe a little more, but IMHO there is NOTHING out there worth more than $200, not BTAC, not Pappy's, NOTHING. Similarly, I think the Calumet 14, 15, and Sam Houston 14 & 15 and their ilk are also borderline overpriced for sourced juice when Knob Creek, Russel's, etc are offering 12-15 year bourbons for $100 or less.
I'll be watching for this in Indiana. In 2019 we got a bunch of Russell's store picks so hope this shows up eventually.
Indiana release was 2 weeks ago. If you're not seeing it, it's most likely gone.
@@memikecraig you are probably right on that, but its how allocated bourbon works.
Sounded phenomenal. Holding my breath it might show up here. Maple candy, creamy, spicy, smoky cherry? Yes please.
except secondary is already $500ish per. FML...
Wish I had a Leslie. Lucky bugger! Thank goodness for RR Store Picks.
I'm starting to see this year's pop up on OHLQ, in a far off place like Sandusky. Even with the price bump up to $100, I'm still checking every day and hoping to see one within a half hour of me.
Our club (5280 Whiskey) got to sample this last Friday night in a Zoom call with none other than Eddie Russell himself. Personally I thought it was pretty tasty.
Waiting didn’t pay off if you’re still looking to get this. Secondary is close to $600 now and it was bourbon of the year for many people.
Rare Breed is my real only pricey bottle I buy but only a couple times a year at most. I’ll have to try this one at a whiskey bar. Julep here in KC is an outstanding place. Maybe?
Woooo
Got to try this last night. Glad I did. And I'm definitely not chasing it. Would be cool if it became a shelfer though. Nothing a great Russell's pick doesn't provide.
Good review Jason. Sounds like I’m going to enjoy this bottle. Now, I have to find it here in Vegas.
I just had some Russel 13 2 days ago with my buddy while on vacation in North Carolina and it is absolutely amazing and delicious to drink! I couldn’t believe how smooth and tasty it was. By far my favorite bourbon! He won that bottle in an ABC liquor store lottery and he paid 70 bucks for it. Secondary pricing is like 700-800 bucks or more. If you can find one that’s a decent price buy it.
I am super excited to find this bottle myself. I love everything about the 10 year Russell's but I doubt this will hit the shelves in PA but a guy can dream right! Cheers.
There's a typo in your description, a link to Sam Houston is listed.
Happy National Bourbon Day, folks! Cheers! 🥃
Hi from Australia. Great vid as always. Huge Turkey fan and love RR single barrel, 101 and Rare Breed I was hoping this would be available like the others but unfortunately not the case in oz or the states by the looks of it. Enjoy. Cheers
I cant justify paying $400 or more for this
Amp it up to 15? But this one here goes to 11.
Great review - excited to hunt for it as early as tomorrow. Will be more excited if I find it. Thanks.
I've only seen this once in the wild, was going for $700
Sláinte
I tried it at a bar a few weeks ago and honestly I can't get behind some of the hype it was getting. It was good but nothing I am going to hunt all over town for.
Great review, appreciate the perspective on the secondary.
350 is around where they've settled. The first three I saw sell went for 500, 510 and 410.
The RR 13 is good, but, just like WTMK 17 BiB, I was hoping for better. Picked up one of the recently released OHLQ RR picks and tried it back to back with the RR13. Unfortunately (or fortunately, considering availability), the OHLQ was the clear winner. Great video!
Will keep an eye out but love seeing a bottle of Portland’s Bull Run in the background!
I love WT but I am not paying more than retail. Too many good bourbons on the market. Thanks Jason. Cheers!!!
I know VA had at least 6. If I could have been 20 minutes faster I would have had the last one. The hunt is on.
Was able to grab 2 bottles of this today. Can’t wait to crack em!
Can't believe it took me this long to find this channel.
Love the Russell’s products. Looking forward to finding this one! Thanks.
I'd be willing to spend $80 on it.... But I'm really good at not paying premiums or secondary prices in liquor stores no matter how much I want something. Too many other good bourbons out there to buy the hype. It never lives up to the price.
Agree with this review! I was lucky to get at retail and sooooooooo happy
Let the hunting begin! I'll pay $100 just because I love WT. Hopefully I'll get a chance to run into one. Great as always Jason! Cheers!🤙
I hope it’s available near MSRP out here in California but I’m not too confident.
If I see one at MSRP I’ll buy it no ifs ands or butts, The 17 Year BiB is damn incredible, I bet 13 is more of a sweet spot for their distillate so I’d be all over it. Plus like you said it’s like an amped up really good RR pick, so I’m definitely all over that, for $120 max. Cheers Jason C!
Thanks Jason! Great review. Will definitely try to find one out here. Keep em coming!!
Would love to find one of these on the shelf. I'd probably go up to $100 but not over. I'm a cheap SOB though! Huge fan of the Russell's store picks and Rare Breed so this sounds in my wheelhouse. Cheers Jason!
Jason - love your channel but please don’t encourage the idea of secondary markets and up charging … it’s a $70 bottle, that’s what it costs, period, the end.
Yeah I get that but what I would pay is way under what the secondary markets are charging for it. The what I would pay is not an indicator of where I think it should be priced but what my personal value is. The secondary market has gone way overboard on this bottle unfortunately.
@@TheMashandDrum I understand, it’s a slippery slope … maybe a rating system vs a $ amount would help keep the craziness in check. Again, I really love your channel and your palette, I’m just so over the inflation … it’s gone WAAAAAAY too far already!!!
@@robertcarnochan9454 yeah totally agree. All of a sudden turkey is good to everyone. Crazy
Ok, so when does it come to Sweden 😂 Great review, thanks! I love Turkeys products and the Rare Bread but also the Longbranch have their places on my bourbon top list 👍🏻
Darn it! I missed the Premiere. This sounds wonderful!! Creme Brulee and spice, sign me up!!
Called 6 liquor stores today and nobody has any.
Love Wild Turkey products Longbranch, Rare Breed and definatly 101. As far as Russell's Reserve Ive only tried 10 year got a bottle for $25 it's very good 😃👍🏻🥃good review Jason
Supposedly this is supposed to be a regular release, meaning 2+ drops a year. Looks like WT is diverting stock originally meant for the Japanese market.
Little early in the year for Christmas 😍🎄🥃
It's crazy hard to get. The store I work at has been pestering it's distributers for dibs on a case for weeks. Were just a small mom and pop shop so we try to beat total wine to the punch but it doesn't always happen
I wish I could find it North of the border
Take forever to get on shelves in ohio stores...smh
Great Video Jason!!! Can't wait to find one of those! WT is very underrated in my circles, which means more for us!!!
Happy National Bourbon Day, Jason!
Found this online for $799 😅
Has anyone seen this in MD, PA or DE??
Were you able to find any in Ohio? I got lucky and got 2 at GE (they put it out a day early so no wait) and 1 from the RR13 tasting at wild turkey. Crazy it’s 20% 19 year
I got 1! Lol.
Is this a Limited edition? I don't see that on the bottle
Great review thanks...hope to try this soon!
I may be the most jealous of this than any of your reviews
