The only thing I tend to dislike about modded weapons is how ridiculously overpowered they tend to be. I want to give the Aspects of the Shinobi a try but it looks like the AI just cant handle it and get infinitely stun locked. Its a shame because they look cool but I feel Id get bored of one-shoting everything or being a stunlock god pretty quickly.
Yeh, generally weapons that add a ton of mobility eg. Aspects of Shinobi, dreamshadow etc. are very overpowered because of the pacing in Elden Ring. With the other modded weapons you can generally not full level them or in the case that they have a really crazy AoW that is overpowered you have to just use it sparingly. Have to kinda play the game similar to not using summons
Honestly came down to the comments to say this. I beat Elden Ring 2 more times after my first run on PS5 because I modded a PC copy. It was really cool and impressive blitzing through the game with the cool new toys and movesets but you're totally right. You either don't have enough stagger to warrant using cool combos or you stagger/stun lock enemies no matter how much you turn down the damage. I did use a really cool Scythe Mod that was slow enough to require some good timing but there was a special move that destroyed everything on front of you lol.
True Dragon Greatclaw is one of the many reason why we need to have an ability to temporarily to transform into an almost nigh invincible monstrous form. Something like Darksiders. War's Chaos form for example. But the form itself shouldn't be limited in appearance and abilities. It should be something like, the form should be varied of what type we build for example like game Night of Azure where the main character can transform into 5 forms which has varied abilities. The forms would be the basic form and the other 4 specialize forms and those 4 forms have specific conditions to activates them. Basically if we want for Elden Ring to have one. It should specified upon which build focus would create the form. Like for example: Rot beast form or Vampiric form for bleed build. Usually having that blood incantations focus. Shadow Form or Shade Form for those who has Stealth and darkness incantations mix. Glintstone Crystallian Beast form for Glinstone sorcery build. But still based on what type of sorcery that we put for example maybe we can have Gravity Crystallian Beast form for may earth sorcery there Maybe Crystallian Knight Beast form if we put Carian sorcery more magic. Dragonoid form that can use powerful incantations. Maybe Sage Dragonoid Form for Focus on Dragon Cult thingy spells and Salamander Dragonoid Form for Dragon Commune thingy spells. And other kind of incantations forms that I can't really thing for But if it is too difficult to render the engine, at least the form should cater to what type of character that we choose despite the build but all of the benefits if our build should effect the transformation form. Basically my suggestions. Or my imaginations that was invoked from this video of seeing the True Dragon Greatclaw is about making use of spells slots. I mean it is already a bit of tiresome to search for all 8 memory stone or something. But just giving us the ability to use more spells kind of just a let down a bit for me since the magic and incantations looks insanely beautiful but difficult to be used. Like the magic that was put in this game was just for graphical beauty, in reality it is very difficult to be used properly. Well maybe that's just me. I'm not a pro for one. So maybe that's just my own feeling in this regard. But... Back to the topic... What I meant is that. After the tiresome journey to get all memory stones... Erm... 8, right? Therefore, at least if we found all 8 memory stones they could just give us the ability to use transformations ability based on our spells focus that we put there would be kind of rewarding though. It doesn't have to be all equipped of the same type of spells. But just make 3 of the first slots would be enough with the conditions of must completely found all 8 memory stones. We should something like around 10 memory slots, right? Just make the first 3 as an indicator of what forms we could transform into. That would be enough. For example it could be insanely interesting to have use 3 darkness spells while all other spells are based on bleed. Like creating a character with bleed build but also can transform into a stealth monster. Or having 3 Bleed or Rot Spells whcih gave us the access to have Rot Beast Form or Vampiric Form, but also have with Carian magic like Carian Great Sword and Slicer and all other Carian magic there. What I Meant is that while we transform into Rot Beast Form or Vampiric Form to cause lifesteal of bleed. We get to withel down our foes using Carian magic. The synergy of using close range magic and lifesteal or bleed would very much interesting in my opinion. Man this is surely going to be fun to have such ability......😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 Although, even if such a thing do exist... I don't think they would allow it in PVP mode as that could get maybe too overpowered. But personally I think it would be fun to see playe versus player and both somehow in their Beast Form. Ah... Erm... Sorry for the long words that looks kind of an essay. But once I got excited about something about what a great could have been. I need to let it out of my mind.😅😅😅😅😅. I just really love a game that could give us a temporary transformation form.

As for your response I really like the idea of a transformation, I've never thought of something like that in a souls like before. Mortal shells stone skin/shell system is neat and thymesias wound is another niche but you're right in that a beast form could be a really unique addition and would add a ton of different approaches to big fights.

They can be OP, I think to make it most balanced you'll definitely not upgrade most of them all the way but rather find where their damage outputs closely match vanilla weapons of that category
These mods highlight a small problem I have with the soulsgames, which is that when I think about the core combat and often the skills attached to them they are not particularly interesting. Theres not many ashes of wars in elden ring that I find particularly fun, but in these mods they all look awesome, so fun and what I would of wanted to be in the core game.
A lot of these weapon and spell mods seem to add a feeling of having abilities, move sets, and animations that made you really feel like one of the game’s bosses or a character capable of going toe to toe with these bosses that I think was missing in the base game. They look super cool, the sound good, the look like they’d feel super good to use, and look very versatile and strong.
No, you just can't play on online servers in multiplayer. Set steam to offline and you'll be safe. Other than that you can stream on twitch etc if you like or UA-cam just don't play multiplayer
the combat stuff is so damn sick....makes me a bit jealous/frustrated we cant just wild out the scythe looks SOOOO GOOD would be sick to have an overpowered weapon like this but also some insane enemies to fight along with it. id love to see modded enemies
So I haven't messed around with merging much myself but from what I understand you can merge most by editing their files in Regulationbin and changing some taes to fit. If you go to the dreamshadow scythe Nexus they have a brief explanation on it in the description
That's a good question, for me I'd say cleanrot spears, true dragon greatclaw, icefrayed blade, meteoric blade and fire/airbending should all be good for a playthrough without being mechanically overpowered. That being said you may have to slow down upgrades to make sure they fit the area you're fighting. Some scalings are a bit high. But as for the rest of the weapons I think you could play with those if you gimp their upgrade and not let them be too powerful

A lot of these weapons just look too...strong. Like what's the point of introducing them if you're just going to absolutely overpower everything so easily? The fun part is the ever present aspect that enemies can 100% kill you if you overplay your hand. There's an equality in death in these games. Elden Ring is by far one of the quickest paced souls game out there, but it's just not quick enough to justify teleporting.

Yeh the only issue I have with mods is the unbalancing of gameplay but it can usually be mitigated

Rework the Gargoyle's Black Blades (twinblade) like the halberd. So lacking in all departments for players when the boss that wields it is insane.

I know with time we'll see bigger and bigger overhauls, convergence namely. Which makes huge changes to the game and adds enemies
I've always loved the dragonscale blade. Now that I know there's a mod for a better moveset and skill I will most definitely be downloading it
It may not work properly, I'm not sure if they have been updating it but if it isn't updated to match Elden Rings' patches it may not work

It's likely not been updated to the most recent Elden ring patch and not working because of that
The fun is supposed to be the part that makes the game challenging and rewarding after beating the boss this shit takes the fun out of the game

There honestly aren't too many dagger mods
A lot of these weapons just look too...strong.
Like what's the point of introducing them if you're just going to absolutely overpower everything so easily? The fun part is the ever present aspect that enemies can 100% kill you if you overplay your hand. There's an equality in death in these games. Elden Ring is by far one of the quickest paced souls game out there, but it's just not quick enough to justify teleporting.
