Hi I love your video. I’ve had a damp carpet in the rear for a while. So tomorrow I’ll remove the plastic hinged strip that runs across the rear and sit inside with a hose on the top and see if the water is getting in past the 2 seals.. Did you ever apply any chemical to the seal as you fitted it ? Also what is FIPG coz over here in the UK I’ve never heard of it ? Your 5 minute video has given me the confidence to tackle the job It’s people like you that save numpties like me quite a lot of money Ironically I collected my WIFES truck from the body shop today after a corner touch up and I asked them specifically to source the boot leak "?…. No joy they could fine where it was coming from . So I will thank you for your help in advance and I’ll let you know how I got on I’ll now plough through your other UA-cam clips on advice for simple folk like me 😢
Great video thanks! Any info about which edge of the seal faces the body would be helpful. Looks like it could be installed either way. Seal on my 04 is not original and may have been installed wrong. Thanks
Hi, thanks for the video. Any long-term experience? Is the leak now fixed even though the weather strips were added without any glue or sealant? Best regards, Jan
I’ve been through many significant downpours now both at freeway speed and stationary - no leaks whatsoever. I was skeptical of the manual not calling for sealant, but seems to not be an issue.
@@LandCruiserDIYThanks for the feedback. I can confirm that my car is still dry in the back after a couple of weeks now. Now sealant whatsoever used during installation and car-wash test survived without water ingress.
Can you share the parts#? Nicely done

Perfect timing just got some rain past couple days and noticed the cargo area was wet, thanks for posting the video.
Glad it was helpful - check out partsouq.com, the weatherstrips were cheapest from them IIRC 👍

Off topic where can I get the rear spoiler light? I can only find the replacement light if I didn't have the spoiler
