LEAK FINALLY SOLVED in the 100 Series Land Cruiser cargo area
Two years into owning my Land Cruiser, I faced a recurring leak in the rear cargo area. The usual fix of replacing the outside trim didn't work. I found the real culprit: a faulty weatherstrip, especially vulnerable during heavy rain.
In this video, I detail how to identify this leak and properly install a new weatherstrip. For fellow Land Cruiser owners experiencing the same issue, this could be your fix. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Hi I love your video. I’ve had a damp carpet in the rear for a while. So tomorrow I’ll remove the plastic hinged strip that runs across the rear and sit inside with a hose on the top and see if the water is getting in past the 2 seals.. Did you ever apply any chemical to the seal as you fitted it ? Also what is FIPG coz over here in the UK I’ve never heard of it ? Your 5 minute video has given me the confidence to tackle the job It’s people like you that save numpties like me quite a lot of money Ironically I collected my WIFES truck from the body shop today after a corner touch up and I asked them specifically to source the boot leak "?…. No joy they could fine where it was coming from . So I will thank you for your help in advance and I’ll let you know how I got on I’ll now plough through your other UA-cam clips on advice for simple folk like me 😢

great job on the video, good variety of shots, and perfect narration. Having done a louse video, I know how much work you put into this to make such a fantastic product. Can't say thanks enough for the effort. I came searching for this, to remind myself of some weirdness regarding the tensioner pulley, and the timing covers interference was it!

I think your video title is a bit misleading. For $20 (currently $25), you get 48 hours of access to the whole FSM via the Tech Info site, but to get the "FULL" FSM downloaded to your computer, you're going to have to spend an eternity downloading all the individual files which would require a ton of patience. I would imagine that most people clicking on this video think they can simply pay $20 and get a complete download of the manual which is not the case. I use Tech Info all the time, but I get what I need for the job(s) I'm doing and that's it. I've never tried to download the whole FSM for any vehicle, because like I said, that would require an incredible amount of time and patience to pull off.

Hi. You mentioned drain plug number 90430-18040 in the description. Isn’t it 90430-19057? Or is this maybe the same size and can be used as well? I found the 90430-18040 as the drain plug for the rear differential. And I am also a little confused about the washer part numbers. Both 12157-10010 and 90430-18008 seem to be the same size for M18 bolts but different shape (simple ring vs. crush washer)? Are these interchangeable? Thank you very much for your superb no-nonsense videos! Well appreciated, two thumbs up.

First off, great video as usual. I also have a 2006 Land Cruiser, so I usually check here before I start a job to see if there are any tips to glean. Regarding the diagnostic mode, I am under the impression that procedure may no longer be used for accurate temperature range when filling the late model Land Cruiser transmissions ('04 - '07). I believe you use the online or downloaded service manuals (based on previous video) which stated the correct interval of 97 - 115 F, but the original range in the printed service manuals state checking at a range between 115 - 130 F. The lower temperature was the result of a TSB (T-SB-0129-08 July 9 2008 Toyota change recommendation to between 97 F to 115 F) issued against several models and years of vehicles. The point is that the diagnostic mode built into the ECM is still using the 115 - 130 F range. As you demonstrated, the light will come on at 115 F and if it exceeds 130 F, it will begin blinking. I ended up just using my Scan Gauge II to read the realtime transmission temperature, but it could also be read in TIS. The higher temperature could result in lower than the currently recommended level of ATF. This is a good link for more details. forum.ih8mud.com/threads/scored-2007-unicorn-the-holy-grail-of-100-series.1043138/post-11645885
