Thanks for the video, I've just had my leaking windscreen replaced and the fitter has made a proper dogs dinner of fitting the mouldings both sides.

This is a common issue caused by improper windshield installation. I have had this twice. Both times it was coming from the top. The first time front of the roof at the top of windshield was all corroded and had to be replaced and new windshield was installed. Few years later it leaked again. This time water leaked down over fuse box behind kicker panel on driver's side shortened it and drain the battery. When windshield is not installed correctly, water gets behind molding on top causing corrosion and leaks. The glue is what makes windshield watertight and rust lets water leaks beneath the glue. I replaced the windshield myself, flowing Toyota procedure. So far so good. Hope this will help.
    Love your videos.

I just did this, I could hear the air coming in while driving on the highway and condensation inside. I had a lot of rust repair on the sides and top, repainted the A pillars and part of the roof, replaced the windshield properly, and all new molds.

Thanks for the video. Your leak is probably plugged or disconnected sunroof drains or the panel seal has shrunk. Put painters tape on the roof and seal it shut. Water test it and I'll bet you find your problem. BTW there are drains at all four corners of the roof assembly. HTH

If you suspect it’s an improper windshield seal, use compressed air and go around the outside blowing directly around the seal, have someone sit inside the car listening for obvious air flow into the cabin

Check the roof rack bolts That is most likely where it's leaking from

I had water getting into my 99 and it turned out it was coming from the bolts that hold the roof rails on. It would come in hit the top of the head liner and then run on that either to the back or to the front depending on how I was parked on the hill.

As others have said pull out your rack mounting bolts, silicon seal the feet and the bolt threads.

This was a very helpful video, especially for adding the part #s. Thank you for posting it.

Yep those rivets don't work once the holes have been compromised. Better to have just use stainless screws with sikaflex, this way you can easily remove those moldings for cleaning and periodic rust inspections.
My guess is you'll be replacing that windscreen to fix that leak. Hopefully I'm wrong.

    Nice FC, I also have a Rotary as a third car. 99 105 Cruiser, 6.0lt SS and a RX8 R3. I'm a sucker for fuel economy. Lol.

I have the same issue on my passenger side and noticed some water on my weathertech mats after the big rain storms. My goodness tho, you’ve got a pond in your driver side foot well lol. Hopefully you find the issue!

Mine was also sunroof drain, my sunroof didn't work but was able to take off 4 nuts underneath to remove sunroof.
Normally here in Australia it is caused by dodgy windscreen install causing rust around windscreen frame, costs $2-3000 AUD to have windscreen removed and rust repaired normally

Thank you so much for making this. Did you ever figure out where it was leaking ? Also do you have a patreon?

Mine leaked due to a loose after market roof rack bolt. Need lots of silicone when installing those bolts.

Excellent job, your hitting on all the problems I'm having with my 2000. What were the PNs for the side windshield mouldings? Also, did you do on on the base of the windshield?

At my lx 470 the water is coming from the corner of the windshield. My windshield is also not a OEM. The front A Pilar is all wet, and the water is dripping from the Pilar behind the glovebox on the cables and finally on the floor. You have to look behind the A Pilar and the roof trim.
