  • In this episode, I take you through the cleaning of the nastiest carpets I have ever seen. The amount of soda and candy that was cleaned from this vehicle was insane. Also, there were considerable water leaks into the cabin. I fixed a front leak by replacing the windshield, but I had to do a lot of diagnosing to figure out the rear leaks. If you are an LX owner or are planning to buy one, hopefully this video will help guide you to any water leak you may have or suspect you may have. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment down below. Thanks for watching!

One reason I like watching your videos is the amazing amount of effort and quality. Definitely learning valuable things i'll need to test out on my LX! Keep up the good work!

I think the black asphalt material like the factory and kilzmat are to stop vibrations. one does not have to cover the whole panel. the actual sound deadener is another material. That stuff stops vibrations. I think. Thank you for you video!

Hey. Yeah, the description identified it as sound deadening, but I don't know that I would be able to tell if there was a difference. It's nice to have the trim pieces put back in and that alone helped to keep the noise down from the rear. Although, a 22 year old vehicle can always use some help in keeping vibrations to a minimum. Thanks Marty!

That’s awesome! I hope they’ll be of help. I have more LX content lined up. Plenty more to do to get my Lexus to where I want it.

Not all heroes wear capes!...Subscribed. I drive a 98 LX that could use the same treatment.

Thanks so much! I appreciate it. You live in NC we could get that thing looking top shape. Plenty more to come on the LX. Really…only getting started.

Thanks! They were the nastiest carpets I’ve ever dealt with. Also, after it was finished the LX smelled so much better in the cabin.

Great video! Love how thorough you are with your work. That carpet looks so much better! How do you like the Kilmat now that it has been in for a while? Is there a noticable difference?

    • @TheNonnell

Thanks so much! I can’t say for certain how much the Kilmat has helped, but now that the trim has been reinstalled, it’s much quieter in the interior. I should have tried to take some decibel readings before and after, but unfortunately didn’t think about it at the time. Thanks for the support!

@@TheNonnell At least you hav it back together again ;-) I think I might be doing dynamat/kilmat or something similar as I am getting further into restoring this 1997 Land Cruiser. Your video may have pushed me over the edge to just go ahead and add that to the list of to-do's

@@NKPGarage Nice! That's an 80 series right? I love that body style. Again, not sure how much it helped, but I'm glad I did the Kilmat anyway. Best of luck!

@@TheNonnell Yes sir, it's the last year of the 80 series. It'll be a fun project. I just ordered up my sound deadening this morning. Your video got me hooked to pull the trigger!
