We tried that. We tried every way possible. The customer service folks admitted that it was likely a bad thermo couple and were willing to replace our unit. But, we still returned it for all of the reasons mentioned in the video - it’s way too heavy, can’t be used inside, but must be covered when not in use outside, nothing is dishwasher safe, and (not mentioned in the video, but realized when looking at regular air fryers) the basket is pretty small. It just isn’t practical for our travel needs.
That's a bummer :( Are you planning on replacing this? I for one would also like options for a propane air fryer. I have the 36 inch beast with 2 fryer baskets and LOVE it! Looking at propane air fryer for my hot dog cart to do corn dogs.
As I said in the video, we’ve returned it and will replace it with a traditional air fryer, but plugged into the 120 volt, 20 amp plug at campgrounds. Not sure which one yet. This was way to heavy, bulky, and came with too many restrictions to its operations for the way the we camp. My wife made a good point today - this may be great for an outdoor kitchen setup at a seasonal site that has a roof structure. It just doesn’t work for us. I hope yours is awesome for you!
I bought one of these, the paint was damaged and there was evidence that someone tried to touch it up and the control panel was pealing from the front. It did cook great, the propane bottle has made 3 cooks of about 30 minutes each and it’s almost empty, also the 8 batteries are completely used up with 3 cooks. Customer service is terrible, after they finally responded they sent me a new cabinet, the paint was damaged and I had to transfer parts from the original, the new unit took 10 tries to keep it lit the fan was kicking off an on the temp was uncontrollable it hit 409 on low and then is set an error code. After almost a week trying to contact customer service they said the error was for a faulty fan, they’re now sending me another cabinet. I’m very disappointed in this thing and I may also return it, I just wish I watched your video below buying it.
I feel like Blackstone is putting too much time into developing new products, rather than taking the time to execute what they make well. But, I hope they get it figured out. I love my 22" Adventure Ready griddle.
I thank you for your candor on this product. Much appreciated...
Very helpful. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Once it ignites, try letting it warm on low for a bit before just going straight to high. 👍
