      @@adamtalkstech Hey man! Thanks for replying that soon! I'm looking forward to watch that vid!
      My sound interface is a SSL 2+. As matter of fact, I've just found the 2nd USB cable that they provide the interface with (which is a USB type C to type A cable).
      I guess I could try that cable and thus, free up the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port that I have available on the PC.
      In SSL's manual, they state: "As this is a USB 2.0 compliant device, it will make no difference to the performance as to which cable you use" (hope this is true).
      I don't have Thunderboldt ports (planning to get at least one). Kind of doing a research about it though. Seems like my motherboard (Gigabyte z490m) has 2x Thunderboldt add-in card connectors. But I have no idea if they support TB 3 or TB4...
      I have to do a little more research about it. As you can see, I ain't no expert at all 😅
      Just in case, specs:
      Motherboard: Gigabyte Z490M Gaming X
      Processor: Intel I9-10850K, 3.60 GHZ, 20 MB Caché L3, LGA 1200, 125 W
      Memory: Kingston Fury DDR4, 3466 MHz, PC4-277000 (128 GB)

      HDD Western Digital WD Blue, 2 TB, SATA 6.0 GB/s, 256 MB Caché
      Graphics: Gigabyte NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 TI, 4 GB GDDR5
      Power: 650 W ATX

      @adamtalkstech  8 місяців тому +1

      @@JorgeTelloOlivaComposer yes use the usb a port for the interface. I’m not super familiar with motherboards as I’m in the Mac world. Also is your usb port capable of dual lane? From what you’ve provided I think it will top at 10Gbps speeds so the drive you choose won’t matter too much. Also music projects and samples don’t take as much band width as heavy video editing so t9 or crucial x10 pro would both be more than capable even though you wouldn’t ge to use the top speeds

    • @JorgeTelloOlivaComposer
      @JorgeTelloOlivaComposer 8 місяців тому +1

      @@adamtalkstech In another video of yours that I saw, I understood that "dual lane" is specified with the nomenclature: "2x2", right?
      In that case, no. Nowhere does it say "2x2". It only specifies USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C.
      But from what I've been reading, and thanks to your comments, I understand that I should have no problem with a maximum speed limited to 10Gbps.
      It's true that I'm a little concerned about the weight of the templates I have built with my sample libraries, but the only way to find out is by trying it 😅.

I personally put stuff on a RAID drive so its backed up on two drives, but the enclosure is in one location so its still not an ideal backup... Used to have a WD My Cloud and WD bricked their old cloud service. I wasn't able to access the files, so i found a way to take that hard drive out and transfer it to my 2tb t7. Never again will I buy wd. Samsung ftw

    Someone correct me if I'm wrong because what I have discovered after spending a literal 6 hours researching this and trying everything I could find is that the t7 shield is not plug & play. Will not work on your Galaxy phone if it is not at 100% unless you have some additional adapter that lets you charge and use the port at the same time but then you lose the speed. Also there is no software that works with - in my case a Samsung Galaxy s21- as the Samsung software geniusea did not upgrade it once the new UI update came in. Ie 'it's not available for your version of Android" So if your Samsung phone is running anything newer than May of 2023 you can't download any plug play software anymore. The magician app doesn't do anything other than give you very detailed information on temperature and partitions etc. There's no file transfer that I can see.
    So basically SOL
