    So, USB-C, Bolt dongle, and new switches in otherwise the same mouse... pass. It's just a sign that Logitech does not care, they're keeping product on the market because they know they'll be the first thing people go to. I have an Ergo and while I thought the buttons and all were fine, the trackball itself was very low quality and had quite bad stiction on its bearings until I polished it, being the worst out of now three different trackballs I own despite being the most expensive. Even after polishing it, I much prefer my Elecom Huge for the shape and buttons, somewhat of an actual "innovation" on the trackball scene even if almost as old as the oritinal MX Ergo. Them there's GameBall, and Ploopy, both using much more modern sensors and one even being a fully open source project. My current main mouse is the Elecom HUGE, it has its flaws but it's easily better than the Ergo across the board for way less cost. I have modified mine since I got it to make the trackball less stictioney, but it was better than the Ergo in every way even before that. If I'm in the market for a good trackball again, I'd probably look at the Elecom deft pro, see how that pans out.

    I have this keyboard for over a year. The Bluetooth connection is completely unreliable! With my Mac Mini M1 it only works if they were at the same level on the desk and no more than 50-75cm apart, anything more than 100cm and it starts to lag horribly, unusable. I now have a Mac Mini M4 and it's only slightly better, but if I put the Mini under the desk or if there is anything else in the way it starts to lag again. I've emailed Satechi support back and forth and they haven't helped at all, just the standard stuff - power on/off, reset... The only device it has no problems with is my iPad Air 13", it works fine even from 5 metres away. So I have no idea how the youtubers test these keyboards, but I would suggest staying away from this one unless you plan to use it very close to the computer, but then - just use a wired keyboard :) I also have full size Logitech MX Keys and it works perfectly with Bluetooth and the dongle, but I would say that the Logi build quality (plastic) is actually worse than Satechi.

    • @adamtalkstech
      @adamtalkstech День тому

      That is so weird and makes it unusable. I have used it with Mac mini m4 and MacBook Pro 14” up close and across a room. No lag or anything.

    • @pixeldojo
      @pixeldojo День тому

      @@adamtalkstech Maybe it's just my particular model, but I remember reading some posts on the internet about similar behavior with Satechi. I'm so frustrated with this keyboard and can't recommend it at all if the computer is under the desk or there's anything in the way. I only use it with the iPad now as it's the only device it works properly with.

  • @pixeldojo
    @pixeldojo День тому

    Satechi X has connection problems and it lags massively when it is more than 1m away from Mini M1. It's a bit better with M4, but it can still lag sometimes if your Mini is under the desk or there are other things in the way.

    I've had a few mac minis but also use surface pro and windows devices. Keyboard Logitech KC780 (multi device, windows and mac keys, awesome) Mouse Logitech M720 (multi device) I had a 2TB Lacie for cold storage and storage for home media centre Satechi hub with 1TB Kingston SSD for hot storage Philips ultrawide 34 inch with USB hub in the monitor. (native resolution for macs) Getting the M4 soon and will keep it all but adding Seagate firecuda HDD drive 8TB (may turn in to NAS) I have like 7 homepod minis so that is what the mac sound goes to unless i'm using my focusrite soundcard. Reason I like mac mini is because everything is external and multi use, I sold my M1 mac mini and the amount of people coming from a 2017-2019 iMac wanting to buy it was problematic. I advised them on using the mac mini with their imac screen and using the imac as a slave but still. This is why I love the mac minis.

    Great advice at the 7-minute mark! Starting in 2000, I’ve been on an every-four-year upgrade cycle. I’m currently using a mid-2020 27” iMac with 512GB internal storage, 8GB RAM, and dual 5TB HDD externals via Thunderbolt 2 (got it sold for $600 to online buying co.) I’m a daily Final Cut Pro user and super excited to finally step into the M chip world! Heard so many great things about Apple’s transition-feels like they’ve gone from the dark side to the light side (or maybe the other way around, lol). I just bought the top-of-the-line iMac directly from Apple’s site yesterday. I opted for the 24GB memory instead of 32GB and skipped the nano-texture display. Now I’m looking into external SSDs and seeing what setups people recommend. Thinking about NGFF SSD high-speed 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2280 4TB for $38 on AliExpress or Temu. For the enclosure maybe the MAIWO 40Gbps USB 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure that’s compatible with Thunderbolt 4/3 $50. It would mirror my old setup but with way faster speeds. I know I’ll need to test and validate the setup thoroughly, but it feels worth a shot since I can always return it if needed. I Certainly feel you about Sandisc testing and testing and testing the set up to make sure it runs smooth. I’ll probably get a set up that’s altogether as a back up. On another note, the Mac mini Pro is tempting. The performance is incredible, and if I had a good monitor, I might have gone that route. But I do love the sleek aesthetics of the iMac. Thoughts?

    Some missed opportunities here. It should show the exact voltage / current being supplied on the screen (because not all devices are compatible with all combinations - for example, some 60W devices expect 12V / 5A while others expect 20V / 3 A), and it's annoying to have to open the app to see that info, and it should have the option to display a clock when it's charging on the wireless base.

      @@adamtalkstech I use a s23 and 24 ultra and the 12.9 inch I pad pro 2021 since it can play console games now and the Sony xm5 and c700 ear buds got both Anker primes and the ungreen nexode 20k 130w one my idea is .....I got tired of wall outlets I don't like sitting next to a wall waiting for my stuff to charge I just rather have a few good "smart" power banks so I can actually monitor them as I use them being smart and re charging fast are the most important parts to me the big one charges in 30 something mins and the 20k one charges in about 40 ish mins that's not bad for how many days they last on a charge the UGREEN one I got was because .......it just looks better and has better build quality and prettier screen then the Anker power banks but shows less information then the prime banks

    I ordered a “off brand” Magic Keyboard for less that $100 and does basically the exact same thing. TBH if you love apple products and really want the matching brand accessories go for it, but Amazon really hooked it up with this one… For me, $330 is a little too much for me so I chose an alternate route and was not disappointed. I hope this helps…

    Hi Adam, thanks for the review! There's an info I can't seem to find anywhere, including on logitech's website. Can I download logi options+, set up the mouse DPI, buttons etc. the way I want, and then uninstall the software but keep the functionality in the mouse's on-board memory? On that computer and other ones I connect to in the future? Thanks a lot

    What a great channel! You've got a new subscriber here. Could you please make a video on fixing a lagging Logitech mouse on a MacBook? It would be greatly appreciated

    Can't decide between this and 190X. I would use it for video.

    This would be a good solution for a local TimeMachine backup. I use a Samsung Type A 3.0 on my 2015 MacBook Pro, the write speeds are even slower but a backup is always available no matter where I take the MacBook.

    One question, are they what they would call silent mouse?
