I put a new plow on my 2020 Polaris Ranger 1000 and wasn't sure how to adjust the stiffness of the shocks. After this video, it took 10 minutes and was a breeze. Other videos have you taking off the wheels which was not necessary. Thanks for the help!
Saw the same thing in another video, showing the wheels being taken off. Didn’t want to do that, so kept looking. Found your video and the adjustment was a breeze. Thanks for taking the time to upload the content!
Keep in mind these Rangers are a tall UTV to begin with, and extra inch of ground clearance means and extra inch of height when going in and out of trailers/toy haulers.
The video was helpful. I just got done adjusting my suspension on my 2020 Ranger Crew. It was NOT easy. Won’t be doing that again anytime soon. But, I gained 1 1/2 inches on the back and 1” on the front!
I relocated my shocks and did the springs on my stock equipment and it’s 1-1/2” taller with those 2 changes. And then I put rzr tires and wheels on it and bumped it another 1-1/2” giving me 3” total with very little cost.
UTV DIRT did you do any clutch work so that it’s not so jumpy off the start? Once I installed the rzr tires and wheels, it was real jerky to get going off the line. Unless I floor it and go.
@@aaronpage1822 Yes i did. I highly recommend the Gilomen clutch and tune kit. It took away most of the jerkiness and the tune really woke this machine up. Well worth the money.
I am relatively new to sxs community and had an issue with my front tires wearing on the inside. I noticed the other day while I was following my wife home from our neighbors that the front tires seem to be leaning out at the ground and leaning in at the top. The back tires are wearing evenly so I'm not worried about them. Would adjusting my front suspension help with the front tire wear? Any help or insight on this would be a big help. Thank You in advance and keep up the great videos.
Sounds like you need to adjust your toe on your front end alignment. I have a video that I did on replacing front a arms and I touch on it a little on how to align your front end. Hope this helps. Thanks
Hey I bought my 2019 Polaris ranger northstar crew and the shocks were on the stiffest setting. I would like to soften it up but I tried to jack it up to take the pressure off but I can’t seem to get the spanner wrench to move the snail cam at all. Any recommendations on how to “back it off” versus stiffening it to the hardest setting? Thanks!
The back are the hardest to adjust and took some time. I used the spanner wrench and used channel locks and finally got it. I also put on a pair if padded work gloves and it helped me get a better grip. You might want to spray some WD 40 on it to.
UTV DIRT got it I’ll give that a try! Do you know if I need to turn it clockwise or counterclockwise? Didn’t know since if it’s on the stiffest setting if I had to completely cycle it through or if I can just back it up a couple notches
Good review. Told me what I wanted to know. My 2021 ranger crew 1000 premium scrapes coming on and off trailer, so this easy adjustment should help. Thanks
Just found your vids and I'm really enjoying them, this one in particular. Question if I may, where did you get your side view mirrors? I really like them, do you?
my 2019 Polaris 900 XP EPS has the suspension on the inside, is there PrOS and CONS on inside vs outside other than giving you a little more clearance. Will there be an issue long term by leaving suspensions on the inside?
If they are mounted on the inside it is a softer ride but the ground clearance is lower. If you put them on the outside you get about an inch more clearance but a stiffer ride. It just depends on what you are doing with the unit.
Just turned mine up pick my ranger up nicely going to move top of shocks to the outer holes on frame will give me another inch rims and tires coming soon thanks again also the floor jack helped also.
This is what I was talking about in past videos I know you love the A arms but you might had been ok with the rubbing in front situation you already had the lift another awesome video thanks.
Love your channel, very helpful. I have a question for you. I just bought a 2019 ranger xp1000 and just put on its first 30 miles today. It has a loud clunk when taking off from a start in high range. Also while in park and if I manually rock the machine back and forth I can here the same loud clunk. Sounds like in the clutch area or maybe diff. Not sure. Does yours do this. The forums all say it’s normal said it’s the secondary clutch gear slop. But makes me think something is wrong.
Gained ~1 inch on the front of my ‘23 EPS. This will help for the plow installation that I’m planning. Thank you!

Great video! My ranger is all stock and gained 3/4 inch all around from your helpful video.
Nice! Thanks for watching!

I agree also you need to clear your garage door if storing it. Thanks for your input!
I was able to clear a true 27" tires on my last 900 with just adjusting the shocks. They did rub slightly on the inside at full turn.
Yeah it would definitely help clear a bigger tire than stock by adjusting your shocks. Thanks!
I appreciate your videos. Very helpful. Can I ask what light bar you have in the front bumper
Thank you! Here is the link for the Yitamotor LED light. amzn.to/31Q4Tjl
Thank you brother. Be safe

Nice! The rear were harder to adjust than the front but the results are worth it. Thanks for watching!
My 2014 is all the way up and I'm in Idaho shale lose rock and stiffness is causing traction issues.
I liked the video thanks! What tires and size do you have on your ride? I like them!
Thanks! They are 30X10X14 maxxis carnivores on a set of MSA rims.
Your reverse light is doing the same as mine when you cut it off it illuminated dim
You are a huge help buddy! Great videos that have really taught me a lot! Thanks again.
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!

If it's on the stiffest setting you can only go backwards. It wont turn all the way around if that makes sense.

What brand is your front light bar and how long is it?
Auxbeam 50 inch. I did a install video on it so check it out.
Just found your vids and I'm really enjoying them, this one in particular. Question if I may, where did you get your side view mirrors? I really like them, do you?
Thanks! I love the Mirrors and they really help at night with the green and white LEDS they have on them. I bought them from planetSXS.com.

Did you reduction gear for your 30 inch tires?
No but I did do a gilomen clutch kit.
@@UTVDIRT is that the same as a duraclutch?and also do you notice a lot slower take off with the bigger tires?
@@jes5958 No it takes off a lot quicker. The kit helped with the tire size. The kit included new weights and spring for the primary clutch.
@@UTVDIRT thanks for the info👍

Nice! Simple adjustments can help give more clearance for your tires or more ground clearance.
This is what I was talking about in past videos I know you love the A arms but you might had been ok with the rubbing in front situation you already had the lift another awesome video thanks.
Yeah I should of tried it to see if it gave me enough clearance. I do love my highlifter a arms though. Lol
Got my oil change kit in yesterday thanks for all the information again
Great! No problem it's a nice kit and comes with everything you need.
How’s the ride feel from stock setting?
Its actually not that bad just from riding around on the property. I will know more once I take it on a trail ride
You need a relay on your backup light.
Thank you for this video, going to install new a-arms this weekend and wanted to stiffen the Suspension
No problem. It will definitely stiffen up your suspension plus give you more ground clearance. Thanks for watching!
@@UTVDIRT mainly need it because a lot of the trails I ride are mud. And the ground clearance will.help on some rocky hills I ride
Nice! Easy adjustment.
What brand or midel a arms are you running?
I went with highlifter forward a arms.
Where Do you Buy all of your Polaris accessories
Mostly all the parts I purchased were on Amazon. There where a few I purchased at the dealer. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the info
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Nice vids , very helpful
Thanks! That's the main reason why I do the videos. Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!

That's normal mine does it to when you put it in gear before taking off. Its the gears engaging in the transmission. Thanks for watching!
Great video man, thanks. However, everything you said was immediately discredited, due to you wearing an OSU shirt! 😂
Thanks! You must live in that state up north. Lol
UTV DIRT I graduated from UK. From Lexington, but live in S FL now. I bleed Blue tho!
Nice! I do like Kentucky. That's where I buy all my side by sides best prices around me.
Man wish you would buy another Xp,ranger and trick it out
Vary good
Thanks!
