Enjoy your workouts. The spotty dog exercise is named after the character Spotty dog from the Wooden Tops a BBC childrens show from the 60s (maybe earlier). Spotty Dog moved in a similar manner. The 5 min are a great way to ease back in to exercise.

Hi Lucy. Each time I do this workout and hear you say your comment about Spotty Dog l promise myself to write and tell you the origin of Spotty Dog. So l am finally doing it. I’m going to give my age away with this comment 😂. In the 1950s there was a children’s program on TV called The Wooden Tops, the characters were puppets, one of them was a black and white spotty dog and he moved just like the spotty dog movement - hence the name of your arm and leg exercise. Thank you Lucy for the good health you offer to thousands of people ❤.

The last exercise called Spotty Dog is so called baecause of a children's programme in the 60s called the Wooden Tops. In it there was a wooden puppet dog called Spotty who 'walked' rather like we do in the exercise. Sorry I'm so old I remember watching it as a part of a programme called Watch with Mother.
