Wow this video is a giant swing and a miss on so many classic logos.
The video creator seems to think that teams from the 50's - 70's should have had some kind of glitzy futuristic logo back then that still holds up to today's style trends. How is the NY Giants traditional logo bad?
Yep
I agree
@@azul93gt38 The biggest problem with this guy and others like him making videos is they are just idiot fanboys that only pay attention to things in the NFL that happened since 2005. Everything else to these idiots is ancient history. They have zero appreciation for the golden age of the NFL that occurred for the 20-25 year period after the merger.
I agree, honestly. I know they have to make content that's funny and such but so many of these just seemed like such reaches
As a Dolphins fan, I've never warmed to the current "Sea World" logo. Bring back Flipper jumping through the darned hoop!
The dolphin wearing the helmet was the best
That present logo looks weirdly passive. Bring back the Shula - Marino era logo please.
The flopping whale is an abomination! The fan base loves the throwbacks! We embrace Flipper wearing the M helmet is classic and distinguished.
I want to see the throw back helmet logo and uniforms too. 🐬🐬🐬
The Dolphins entire uniform is ugly. They have gay colors but their logo isn't bad.The Vikings have cool uniforms, Great colors and great logo.
Packers old logo had 41 for Arnie Herber who was a QB (among other positions) and helped Green Bay to 3 consecutive title wins.
beanieb2009: Thanks for the information.
True
41 for Arnie Herber and US 41 which went through Green Bay as well
"what a young teen might design in franchise mode" except they haven't been able to do that in years because Madden is terrible.
Exactly what I thought when he said that
For me, the best Broncos logo is the one they used in the 1970s, with the horse standing within the large "D." The logo really popped when added to the deep blue helmet and the orange jerseys. I've really never been a fan of the logo which replaced that 1970s logo but then, that's just me.
Because when u are rich and powerful u don't care about what the fans want and I agree with u 100 % the old 70's Denver helmet rocks Same with the old and new falcons and patriots and the old buckineers but Buffalo needs to change their helmet badly it sucks some with browns bangles and jets and new york

Going back to old logos and criticizing them for looking funny makes no sense. They were designed in a different time and spoke to those fans. Some of these are downright iconic, too. This whole video is in poor taste.
Yea I like the Giants' NY and the "Bucking Bronco" isn't so bad either. The Bills one actually looks derpy in my opinion but it was okay for the time.

Bring back the Oilers and drilling rig. A tough roughneck logo.
@@LesterMoore I think you nailed it! If Houston were to rebrand as the Oilers, and bring back the old colors along with maybe an updated/stylized version of the oil derek logo it would be a marketing coup for that organization. The Oilers were beloved by that fanbase and a return to the original brand might trigger a much-needed change of fortune for Houston football fans. The roughneck concept is intriguing as well.
@@williamwalter4882 The helmets could have an oil derrick on one side and a representation of a Roughneck on the other with bulging arms, suspenders and hard hat. But then that might be too busy.
The nyg logo is a classic
Definitely. I remember the Giants replaced the "NY" with "Giants" for a time because of the backlash over the team's move to the Meadowlands. It was great that the Giants brought back the "NY" when things settled down over the move to NJ.
How does he bash the NYG logo and then praise the Packers when most people outside of the US will recognize what NY means but not the G.
So TPS hates the iconic Browns, Falcons, Bills, and Chiefs logos; but then turn around and think we enjoy listening to the helium sucking narrator’s voice.

Pitiful isn’t it? Shame.
It’s fine to shit on racist logos and icons.
You cannot tell me that TPS isn't the ultimate hater of Throwback Logos.
What made some of these logos (Bills, Browns, Falcons, Patriots, Giants) unique is that they had fantastic uniforms during those times.
And some of them still do, case in point Buffalo.
Best ever: 1976 Patriots.
The falcons logo does look really derpy even for it's times. Brownie is a cartoon, Pat kinda too, Bills logo is just a bison sillouette. The Falcon just looks like a vague, empty-faced, dull-eyed static version of the modern logo.
You had to rip on Brownie 😡🤬
Cleveland Brownie is a better logo than a Football Helmet, you can't change my mind

Oh, and the Browns never had a logo on their helmets outside of numbers.
The Browns once had a "CB" logo, and the players hated it so much that they peeled the logo off their helmets after the first preseason game.
That looked more like the St. Louis Browns.
Washington football team: am I a joke to you?
disastrous
wondering what the new Comadores logo will do for Washington.
The thumbnail of the Broncos logo made me think of a little kid’s scribble 😂
Is it weird that I like most of the logos he's lambasting, including thinking the PAT Patriot logo is one of the coolest in the history of sports?
The LA wave sounds way better than LA Rams. And I came up with a new team name for the Giants. Since they represent both New York and New Jersey they should call themselves the Metropolitan Giants.
would the Jets then be called the Metropolitan Jets? same stadium
The red Bills logo was good
Nah, totally disagree about the Patriots logo. That was great and a classic - a patriot with a football. People loved that.....the current one is awful.
Flying Elvis sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It came from their near-move to St. Louis. James Orthwein wanted to move them to St. Louis, and name them the "Spirits" (after Lindbergh's airplane). The "Flying Elvis" does kind of have a "ghostly" look to it. I hate it, too. Bring back the 1976 uniforms!
But how did this guy miss Bucco Bruce? It was a disgrace to the profession! Real buccaneers looked like the Oakland Raiders or Pittsburgh Pirates, not some regular in a gay bar.
I read where a critic of the current Patriot logo viewed it when it was first released and said, "It looks like a guy with a bad haircut taking a snooze." I agree. Bring back the rough looking patriot over the ball.
@@LesterMoore I still remember the day when Drew Bledsoe first modeled the new uniform in 1993. Red Sox announcer Sean McDonough said...on live TV..."Those new Patriots uniforms are absolutely hideous!"

8:04 - AAAH! It’s a mutant zombie donkey trying to pass itself off as a horse!! Thank GOD that the Broncos redeemed themselves with one of the coolest current logo designs in pro sports, IMHO.
The current logo sucks ass and was stolen from Walter Payton’s St Louis Stallions expansion concept. As a Denver fan we need to go back to the Big D logo.
The Ravens first logo should be on here. Not because it was outright bad, but because the owner was too dumb and stubborn to credit the design where it was due
Yeah, definitely agree with ya, current logo is way better than what it first started as…
Chiefs going Super Saiyan with that second logo lol
The Patriots, Bills and Broncos all should revert back to their early 70s logos and uniforms. Being a Buffalo fan I think the standing Buffalo was great!

The new Rams absolutely sucks compared to the simpler original one (and not the ugly St.Louis colors).
Simple is always better. The Bears and Green Bay at least kept to tradition.
They make such a big deal about the Giants not playing in New York, the Dallas Cowboys don't play in Dallas so really what are they on about?
Not playing in your eponymous city is one thing when you consider how hard and expensive it can be to get enough land for a stadium plus parking plus practice facilities (even with eminent domain). Not playing in the same state as what you say you represent?... atrocious. I'm looking at you too, Washington who play in Maryland.
the meadowlands is 10 mins from nyc I know I live in NJ
The Buffalo Bills play in Orchard Park, not Buffalo, but like it was stated, stadiums take up a lot of space, not always available in the City. Check out the Dallas Cowboys that play in Irving,Texas, not Dallas.

I might be the only one, but I think the Rams jerseys / outfits are fire.
To each their own but I prefer the earlier Falcons logo as well as the grazing Buffalo for the Bills. I add grazing because that's the impression I get from looking at it.
THANK YOU for acknowledging how many modern logos are hot garbage burning in a dumpster fire.
Those new LA Rams helmets looked pretty good when the Rams became Super Bowl champions.
Most of those Logos are Dope. Especially The Chiefs and Pats
Arnie Herber and Clarke Hinkle both were famous Packer's QBs and bother wore number 41
Clark Hinkle wasn't a QB but did wear 41. Arnie Herber was a qb and helped lead GB to 3 consecutive title wins.

I don’t understand the hate for the rams logo. It has the city initials, a clean ram horn coming out of the A, and a dope color scheme
Football uniforms should not look like a box of fluorescent crayons.
To me...the logo that is not a logo is the worst logo. I am talking about the browns current logo... a BROWN HELMENT! Every madden game that I play, I have to be the browns at least once so i can change the team to a team with a logo.

Some of these are AFL logos and never saw an NFL field.
Do you ever expect TPS to be accurate? I swear there’s always something wrong with their vids
The AFL has been been fully integrated into NFL history (unlike the AAFC that gave us the Browns, 49ers, and [sort of] Colts). All stats and records of the AFL from 1960-1970 are still counted in the NFL books.
(The original Baltimore Colts from the AAFC folded in 1950 and the franchise was awarded to a group in Dallas who founded the Texans [but not the AFL Dallas Texans that are now the the Kansas City Chiefs], which lasted for just the 1952 season. That same franchise was then used to revive the Baltimore Colts name for 1953. Other fun fact: the original Baltimore Colts Marching Band established in 1947 has never stopped existing in Baltimore, even in the three year vacancy the Colts initially had, and between 1984 and 1995 when Baltimore didn't have a football team; they now serve as the Baltimore Raven Marching Band)
The problem with the Rams and their logos is there is only so much you can do with a Rams horn as your logo.
I can only speak for the Chiefs whose name was derived from former Kansas City Mayor H. Roe Bartle, a man whose heritage included that of native American Indian from the midwestern region (Tribe of Mic-O-Say). Mayor Bartle himself preferred the nickname "Chief," and would tell people around him: "just call me Chief." He was a gregarious man and known as such by his city council members, Kansas City business leaders and those who voted him into office. He was a huge supporter of scouting and even secured land near Kansas City, Missouri for the purposes of creating Boy Scout campgrounds. Mayor Bartle was also INSTRUMENTAL in bringing the Dallas Texans of the AFL to Kansas City in 1963 when Lamar Hunt CHOSE to move his team out of Dallas due to circumstances that aren't public (another discussion entirely). But when the Texans did move to Kansas City, those involved didn't feel the name Texans would be appropriate for the area (Kansas City Texans?). So after some discussion about other potential names, one of Bartle's associates suggested the team be named OF MAYOR BARTLE, AKA THE CHIEF!!! Bartle approved the idea and the name Kansas City Chiefs was born. So your suggestion of racism as a part of the Chiefs original marketing scheme is not only inappropriate but seems to border on being an attempted cheap shot (trying to manufacture something as being racist in order to draw attention to your video). The mayor thought the concepts were totally acceptable, INCLUDING the arrowhead with the KC in the middle of the logo. Had he objected in any way, he was the kind of man who would have stood up and said NO! You're probably too young to know it, but Lamar Hunt (Chiefs owner) and Chiefs Head Coach Hank Stram were two of the BIGGEST advocates for the AFL bringing into the league players from primarily African American schools (Grambling, Prarie View, Morgan State, Jackson State, Tennessee A & I, Bishop College, etc). Many of these players were instrumental in the Chiefs success through the 1960's and early 1970's. As a Chiefs fan, we LOVED Otis Taylor, Buck Buchanan, Willie Lanier, Bobby Bell, Robert "the Tank" Holmes, Mike Garrett, Frank Pitts, Gloster Richardson, Aaron Brown, Curley Culp, Warren McVea, Cesar Belzer et, al. So the Chiefs organization (along with most others in the AFL during the 1960's) can be credited with being at the forefront for achieving racial equality in professional football. In fact the Chiefs who won the 1970 Super Bowl had 8 African-American starters on their defense, with 5 more starters on the offensive side of the ball. That's 13 out of 22 (a majority) starters who were African American on the 1969-70 Chiefs Super Bowl Championship team. As I wrote above we loved them all! So please spare me the accusation of racism with regard to the Kansas City Chiefs organization. As a former employee I saw how well ALL players and staff were treated by the Chiefs organization and I take exception to your accusation on this video. I think you should re-master it and take out the part where you felt the Native American figure juxtaposed on the map of the midwest patch was inappropriate, or apply different verbiage to the piece. The accusation of racism does not fit. And based on some of the other replies here, I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way.
Old Bills logo is great. You are clueless.
I don't love the actual Ram (animal) logo, but the L.A. with the rams horns around it and the helmets are awesome.
Broncos original colour scheme was atrocious: Yellow and Brown and vertically striped socks.
Bengals original uniforms were actually Browns hand me downs.
Giants had that weird NY in the mid-70's before GIANTS was emblazoned on their helmets.

I was surprised the original Buccaneers logo wasn't mentioned.
I'm sure there was a reason but I cannot understand why the Steelers logo is on one side of their helmet.
I miss the Dolphin wearing the 'M' helmet.
And finally, from a Packers fan, it's interesting to note the interlocking GB wasn't mentioned either.
You better not be disrespecting Gay Creamsicle Pirate on my watch, dude. The OG Bucs unis are FIRE.

Given how bad the Bills were from 1970-1973, the standing buffalo needed a cloud of flies to be authentic.
