    I bought this strictly for the clean tones and that it was very light to carry around to practice and my performances. Then slowly I started messing with the effects.... Wow what a fun journey that has been as a freebee extra. Learned a lot.

    Good choices. I am loving my GTX50. What surprised me was how much I enjoyed the Tweed tones, which I've never really dug until now.The Thrift tones are also very cool for my playing. The Neil Young preset is probably my favourite at the moment.

      Nice! I like the Tweed Tones alot too, especially the smaller ones like the Champ and Deluxe. I had considered one for the list but went with the Vibro King selection instead as its a little less represented in the "modeling world" --

    Clean tones wouldn't be boring at all. There's a pretty broad range that covers what makes a 'Clean' tone.

    Strongly considering this amp - love the 1. Buckaroo/LP 2. Super Reverb/Strat (Anyway to achieve both sounds with same guitar?) Been playing acoustic and ready to pull trigger on a Squier CV 50's Strat - Open to suggestions - Thanks

    Hi Jack..I,ve been hearing a compressed country deluxe reverb sound that I just loved! Did you think you can just play that amp, adjust your settings, without getting hooked up to the computer,and would it sound as good without the computer part of the playing process?...thanks Jerry

    Yea, Jack, all the tones were great (really) but I meant to ask: wuz the overall average
    loudness at gigging level (ie w/ a drummer), or could it've been verily adjusted
    therefore as per to wit on ad infinitum (?)

    • @JackFossett

      Definitely keeps up well in a band setting. It can get very loud when it wants to.

    Isn’t it funny how peoples tastes differ. I didn’t like any of the overdrive settings you mentioned. However the amp is capable of stunning overdrive. See Shane in the blues review. Thing is I 100% know peoples tastes are different. The music I listen to has guitars which are more mid range focused such as frees Paul Kossoff.
    Good review, and the nice thing is this amp is so tweekable. Great great amp.

    Do you have a recommendation on how to achieve a SRV tone with this amp? I realize it comes from the fingers, but any help from the amp would be appreciated!!

    • @JackFossett
      @JackFossett  3 роки тому +1

      It has a solid SRV tone in there. If you want to go from scratch, use the Twin or Super Reverb models and add a Tubescreamer -- thats kind of the bare bones approach.

    I am considering one, but will never use it's myriad of features. I set an amp to get a clean sound that I like and don't mess with it. Effects? Just tremolo, vibrato (ala Lonnie Mack), delay and reverb. The ONLY overdrive sound I like is Robben Ford through his Dumble.

    Hi. Can you re-arrange the order of presets and does it come with a footswitch. Is it loud enough to gig. Is it any better than a Boss Katana 100. Thanks for the nice video.

    • @JackFossett
      @JackFossett  4 роки тому

      The 100 comes with the footswitch but the 50 does not. I haven’t played it back to back with the Katana. From my limited experience I do prefer it to the Katana though.

      Yes, you can rearrange, remove, add, and even tweak the settings on each effect in the presets. You can also save them as custom presets. In my option this makes it superior to a Katana MK2
