This is my younger son’s daily driver and he loves it. I’ve messed around with it too, and have been thoroughly impressed for the price. If you’re not a person that touches the mic a lot while using it, it’s great.
Do you have any low mic volume on AM8 while using type c cable? cause the volume is so low, plus the noise suppression is not performing well. I already select the correct settings on the windows.
I would love to try one of these out. There is something really wonderful about brands like Ffine and Maono producing decent-sounding equipment for the masses that lets the mic sound better than the microphone found on a 1980s box cassette recorder. Keep the great content coming!
I had this. I gave it to a friend and never did do a review on it. As much as I don’t use it (hence giving it away) it was an amazing sounding mic straight out of the box for the $52 I paid!
Great review as always. (dont put me in the raffle for this comment lol) the button/knob layout def could have been better and more accessible when mounted. If you add an additional washer to the yoke connection that might help with the retention a little bit. FiFine consistently impresses me with their audio quality / price ratio. Mic sounded great!
Awesome video! It was really cool meeting you at NAB and your channel is wicked fun! Its absolutely bonkers how good super cheap mics are these days. (old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn moment) Back in my day i remember when the sub $90 mics were SO tinny and thin. would say sub 100 but that pesky sm58 is there and its so darn good. ok rant over....byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Hey!!! It was great meeting you. I've heard a lot of great things from Tom about you! Thank you for stopping by and checking out my video! Yeah, it's pretty crazy how good a lot of these inexpensive mics are getting! You are absolutely right, anything under $90 wasn't worth a second glance for a long time.
Great Video man, but I need some help if that’s okay. I’m stuck on whether to get the - Elgato Wave 3, Podmic USB, Sennheiser Profile, BEACN Mic, or just a Fifine AM8? Budget is sub £250 ($300 ish I guess?) Revamping whole setup, moving from a Razer Blackshark V2, so that includes £60 Elgato LP mic arm and £60 Sennheiser 599 Headset. Will be using them in a noisy room with a tv usually on in the background. This is most important, and had me wondering whether a gaming headset is better, or if independent mics can still do a good job of isolating voice. Many thanks
Fifine should definitely look into making a streaming focused software or adding DSP capability within their mics. I feel like they’d eat away a huge chunk of the current USB mic market with those
I've never been a fan of FiFine mics. I'm considering them for a few low-end podcast studio mics for friends who don't have a lot of disposable income. I hope I win. Looking forward to seeing if this mic will fill the requirements. I own a pair of Q2U mics, a pair of Fduce and a pair of mv7. I like the Q2U a lot. It just lacks the look everyone is looking for. Thank for another great review.
Would it be too much of a stretch to say the 3 Fifine mics are different form factors of the same mic? Sound difference is negligible, so it's really a style/build-quality/price decision between them. Gimme :)
Great review as per usual , hope the cats are doing well 🙂 Interested in this to give as a gift to a friend, I already have too many XLR microphones 😭😂
Great review as usual! Funny that I was talking about it in a livestream yesterday and you publish a review for it today 😁 Of course I would like to win the giveaway, but I wonder is it possible to be shipped to Egypt if I won it?
Oh wow! I presume this microphone can be used by 2 people next eachother behind a table? Because you still sounded good from a 2 meter distance. Loved the asmr purring cat 😍
It's better to equip each person with a mic to get the best audio quality. And because it's XLR two of them can be hooked up easily with an audio interface. The audio recorded two meters aways may sound acceptable to you, but it's still better to use any mic as close as possible to the users' mouth. In your case, maybe a shotgun or a dual wireless lav mic is a better fit.
Im debating switching from the Hyperx cloud stinger to Iems but with Iems i have to get a microphone this is the one i picked, Right now just saving to buy good iems and this mic with a mount as well. Would be great if i win the giveaway. Also what iems are you using at 6:00 ? Great Vid!
This should be an easy question to answer 😂 BUT I have two pairs of Sennheiser IEM and they both look very similar and I can't remember which one I grabbed for this... I am pretty sure I am using the Sennheiser IE 100 PRO. They work really well! For what I do, critically listening to mics and audio gear, I can't say I recommend them or really any IEM... but they are a solid option when you want to monitor your mic as well as your computer/game output and don't need a super accurate listening experience.
Just ordered a FiFine AM8 / work intended, I´m no content creator, but I need to speak with clients all day long, using a headset during my shift caused me neck pain, that is why I decided to try with a Mic; my question is: can you use a microphone with a sound bar? (to replace the headset) meaning; will the sound bar interfere with the sound of the mic?
I recently got this microphone but the gain is too low. I have set the gain to 100% in windows and the gain knob is set to max but still I have to literally touch my mouth on the mic to get a decent output. Any suggestions?
Hmmm that’s odd. I was at 55~60% gain for my whole video. What software are you recording into or trying to use? I am just curious if there could be some sort of input level pulling it down in that. If you listen to a video on UA-cam with headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the AM8, does it sound normal and is it at a good volume? You can send me a sample to audiohotline@gmail.com and I can see if I notice something!
@@AudioHotline I'm recording on Adobe Audition with 100% gain. when compared to youtube videos on the same volume level the output from this mic is low. I'll send you a sample.
amazing video !! i owned a fifine mic about 4 years ago and it was incredible !! sadly i had to sell it because money was tight, so winning one would be insane as i no longer can't stream or make videos because of it :(
I love the AM8, but wait for the day they wrap that very mic up in a metal body. Whatever it it would cost, I’d pay it for that audio quality with k669d build quality…..Then I would use it is more often! I have the same issue with the tension knobs. Any movement works it lose.
I dunno, I think the K688 sounds different (better). The K688 has something I don't like in (I think) the high-mids while the AM8 is just top heavy, probably both fixable in processing. I already have a Q2u as a backup mic but if I was in the market for a relatively inexpensive USB capable mic I think I'd go for a K688. That said the AM8 seems perfectly usable and it's hard to complain about the price.
When I included the Q2U in this video I was looking up/reminding myself of its specs/capabilities. It’s pretty crazy that all these years later it still holds up vs the new competition.
@AudioHotline well I want to use a mic that is reliable, and I want to use it for discord calls, or recording for youtube or twitch. I took my time and researched these 2, but im not sure which one to buy.
@HeturBub personally, I’d go with the AM8 for that. It’s going to be a bit better in an untreated room and you won’t have to worry about plosives as much as you would the the K678.
This is my younger son’s daily driver and he loves it. I’ve messed around with it too, and have been thoroughly impressed for the price. If you’re not a person that touches the mic a lot while using it, it’s great.
This helps massively with making a decision! Thank you for such an in depth review with comparisons. Deserve a lot more recognition
@@jimcill thank you 😊
I was going back and forth with all the fifine fam. Now seems like I am leaning towards Tank 3. You ratings at the end does help.
I'm a Fifine AM8 owner and I fully agree with your review. I hope an AM8 successor will have better build quality for the same price or close.
Do you have any low mic volume on AM8 while using type c cable? cause the volume is so low, plus the noise suppression is not performing well. I already select the correct settings on the windows.
I won’t lie, when I saw the “ft.” names in the title I thought they were other UA-camrs 😅
The AM8 is definitely am8zing for the price!
A boys band!
We are the band “FiFine Young Cannibals” ft. My good friends Tank(3), TomB, and Samson.
I would love to try one of these out. There is something really wonderful about brands like Ffine and Maono producing decent-sounding equipment for the masses that lets the mic sound better than the microphone found on a 1980s box cassette recorder. Keep the great content coming!
its probably one of the best contenders in this price range looking forward to see more

hearing from 5:28-5:39 I am so blessed.
This vid was great. I loved the guitar part💪🏾💯
Great video! Looking at getting a new microphone and saw some reviews for it. great mic for the price.
Tbh I think I love the fifine AM8 alot more than the other ones that were there
How do the bass and warmth compare among USB of AM8, Tank3 and K688? (And who makes up these model names?!!!).
Lol, our boss. AM8 should be the warmest, the bass of the K688 is decent among these three.
Thanks for the video, bro

I like the look of this. I'd like to win. I still haven't replaced my broken Blue.
Amazing for around £55. Gaming even UA-camr starting out and it does great.
Recommendations for a broadcast style dynamic xlr dynamic mic? Preferably for in the 40-60 dollar range?
Haha the K669D just pops into our mind.
would be ironic if one popped up in my mailbox, thanks for the reply

Honestly not bad for a $50 microphone. It's like almost 10 times cheaper than SM7b , but definitely not 10 times worse than it.

Thoughts on the q2u vs the am8?
i am thinking about it to buy that mic
Very informative video, thanks a lot :)

As long as you don't have to monitor the mic audio through the soundbar, then there won't be noticeable interference.

I keep hearing static having the rgb on while using xlr
@@jaymikeyyy1 are you using it as a USB and XLR mic at the same time? Or are you just sending power over USB to have the lights on?
Just sending power through usb to have the rgb on and running it through xlr. Maybe it’s my just my mic. No static with the rgb off

id like to win it hopefully upgrade on previous fifine mic
