Its not Keefe thats the problem. Its the teams management in general. They're basically babied and given whatever they want. Ive seen videos where the players explain just how different being in Toronto is compared to other teams. Its like its almost too relaxed over there where the players dont have any responsibilities even when it comes to playing. The fact that they didnt play Woll because he couldnt "loosen up" is complete BS and shows how little winning matters to this franchise.
Sad to see him go. I thought the goalie has to be better to advance, and that wasn't really a coach problem, unless Keefe himself made the decision to start Samsonov.
Management needs to understand the players they have and a coach who can motivate them and buy into the program, not suck up to the players and baby them get rid of those who cant conform
Scotty Bowman... you're our only hope... so sad to seek Keefe go... they got so much close each year... too bad Woll was it... too bad Matthews played... will never know if those two did/didn't play last game... or if Woll came in and played game 3... as of now I don't think it will be anytime soon...again... that we even get into the playoffs... however unless they leave the rest of the team intact with exception to a defensive player or two... with some major playoff experience... with some stats to back the two up... and Woll they're go to goalie... leave Tavares, Matthews, Nylander and Marner alone where they are...
I have stated the leafs need a top notch defenseman for the last 4 years but have not acquired one.There is an easy w6ay other teams have done to cheat th cap by putting a top player on IR then picking up a top defenseman.I have no idea if Sheldon w5as a good coach because I am not a Leafs fan I only watch a few games a year. SYSTEM ..lmao there are no systems everyone is playing zone defense and all goalies go down on their knees . When I watched Mathews the last time they played the Habs he looked LAZY and did almost nothing that game the game Marner was out.Mathews scoring 60 goals in the regular season does NOTHING to winning a cup.

I agree with the firing of Keefe. I think he's a great coach. But I don't think he's a playoff coach. I think he's one of those coaches that can get you there, but not over the hump. At least with the Leafs, anyway.
