This is GOLD
Chris.
You are the best interviewer I've ever seen. You don't just sit there silently when you disagree, but you constructively object in a way that doesn't derail the interview & stay silent when you strongly disagree.
You are an absolute credit to media. AEW are lucky to have you!
Totally agree. He picks his moments to push back and keep the interviewees honest, but also holds off when he knows its not worth derailing shit. Love the work.
Agree he pushes back but his body language and choice of words come across really non-confident. "Have you ever been in a fight?" ".......uh...once"
I agree, Chris is very special. Does things his own way, much like Austin Aries.
What did he disagree on?
He's one of the few that realizes the point of interviews.
Gonna be honest, him and Neville had me interested in the cruiserweight division and the moment he got released I lost all interest in it.
Anthony Marino sameee
Me too
Aries should've won the Cruiserweight Title
Honestly It was the only time I watched 205 Live
Cedric and Murphy put on some classics during their reigns
I love that you challenge him on certain things Chris. It makes for a far more interesting interview when there is back and forth. Truly one of the best in the business. Great work.

He was actually answering the question but he got distracted because he’s high and after the story he finishes answering the question so actually pay attention
@@jaygardner6639 I absolutely agree with u

You can tell Chris isn't on his side for the majority of these stories 😂
I absolutely support every word he says. I understand why he may have rubbed many people the wrong way but people should be allowed to use words like gay and husky without little crybabies out here on the internet being able to change their future. And for what? What are companies afraid of? More people are TALKING and the supporters will latch on even tighter.
@@dizzyparkermusic I agree. Free speech is pretty much the essence of Austin Aries. He's probably the greatest heel in wrestling, period.

"We work hard to save up enough money to buy our time back". That's so true and a amazing quote. I'm stealing that one.
Andrew Machado Please do!
Austin Aries this was a good interview. You guys need to meet up again and do a part 2.
Can someone explain to me how we can Respect Aries as a wrestler when he broke the cardinal rule of wrestling by no-selling a finisher in a championship match against Johnny Impact?
Doesn’t matter how good he is in the ring if he blatantly broke Kayfabe, for that reason alone he can’t be trusted and shouldn’t be in the wrestling business.
Agreed. Some things you just dont do.
I think he turned that match into a genuine moment. Kay fable was broken years ago, we all already know everything that goes on, I think Aries is great and I think he knows a lot more than any of us
Domenic Sinni your probably right, there was something going on behind the scenes the we didn’t know about and it certainly made that an infamous moment, but it’s the equivalent to a broadway actor breaking the fourth wall in the final act and saying ‘just so you know I’m not actually a loser, it’s just the character I’m playing’ or some shit, that actor would NEVER be hired again anywhere..
Nathan Moulson wrestling is not the same as acting in a movie, for a few reasons, one of them is because the director can always reshoot a scene if it isn’t done well enough or if an actor does something that isn’t in the script. Wrestling isn’t a thing that can be redone. It’s a live, moment by moment thing, and by him doing what he did, it got him genuine heat, which as a heel you want, and he got so many people who don’t watch or even know the product to come look, which is a great thing in and of itself
Domenic Sinni you’re right it’s not like Tv or Film. But I actually compared it to Broadway, which is live theatre. And by all accounts theatre is the closest thing to Wrestling there can be. There “fourth wall” is the same as “kayfabe” and YOU NEVER BREAK KAYFABE, unless it is either completely planned from a directorial standpoint, or a rogue actor proving his unprofessional conduct.
So I agree with you in the sense that it caused a huge amount of hype and probably brought more eyes to the game, but not because of the wrestling, because of the breaking of the laws of wrestling’s
"You're not here to be a gourmet chef, just flip the fn burgers."
That is well put, on the wwe style of wrestling. Damn I love aries.
he's there to flip turnips.
Me too, he is honest as fuck, love him!
And he couldn't even do that without missy fit after hissy fit according to over fifteen people who worked with him there.

Right! We all know that was just CBD!!
YES THIS WAS AN INTERESTING INTERVIEW!
@@REVAMPEDWRESTLING2K would have been more interesting if he was actually answering instead of answering in a Kay fabe line.
Now I'm confused. I'm like three fourths the way threw the video. I haven't heard him mention Russo. Heard him mention Cornett but not Russo. Did I miss that part or is it near the end.
joshua templeton i don’t remember what part but he says “theres two things tht russo and cornette have in common and thats that they both hate me” 😂😂

You should consider time stamps, specially in long interviews like this
Just what I was thinking too.
Yeahhh the beginning is hard to follow for me
If anyone watched the whole thing please reply with time stamps of each topic
Can't AA hasn't kept on point the whole time...it's good but it's a cluster
Its basically nearly 2 hours of AA excusing his cuntish behaviour.
I'm convinced he is CM Punk's long lost brother that Punk doesn't talk about. They talk almost exactly the same with a very similar view on wrestling lol
Yeah same like diction and speech patterns and shit I can totally see it

This is a GREAT interview. I learned a lot about Aries. Not a lot of good things, but a lot.
VendettaAS Right lol
yeah, im with you. after listening to the whole thing it sounds like he got worked into a lot of shoots.
@@Coxon9 Or you just get worked like the mark you are...
Yeah he seems like because he's an old school guy, he has some insecurities about his size and over compensates by acting over confident.
Also because of the fact that he doesn't have a filter between his brain and mouth it seems like when he does try to help younger guys it comes off as being too harsh
Honestly I'm pretty disappointed in cvv for doing this interview. I'm related to someone who died of covid. I know several people who suffer from weight issues. I consider my gay cousin a hero for being a firefighter. I know a wrestler who silently worked through mismanagement for a year while rehabbing broken ribs and torn pectoral muscles. This man is an unprofessional, selfish, piece of shit.
Is it me or does Chris look really uncomfortable at times during the interview, but I am glad he pushed some of the issues everyone wanted to know about. Great job Chris.

This is one of my favorite interviews of Chris's. Aries is a dick, but I understand why now, and I respect him for it. Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself. I have watched interviews Chris has done with most of the WWE wrestlers that were recently released, and almost every single one of them said that they wished they had been more vocal and stood up for themselves. I definitely hope Aries gets back to commentary when his in ring career is over. He has an engaging personality, and could have a heck of a post-career career.
And update he is having great action in the National Wrestling Alliance
Ahh what a treat. Living in the UK; I got to see Aries wrestle once - and he wasn't announced before hand. Lionheart (RIP) announced a surprise for the night; then hit us with "I've brought you the greatest man who's ever lived."
This was amazing, gave me serious nostaligia of mid and late 2000s shoot interviews. Please have Aries back again soon.

Aries is one of the most underrated wrestlers from the last 20 years
Wasted his own potential, one of the best I’ve seen on the mic in the past 10 years. Always thought of him as a baby Cm Punk.
He has been a top guy everywhere he went (besides WWE) so he was not underrated
Fred Brown He is better than cm punk in every way except politics
@@vincemcmandow7268 Lmao what are you talking about? Aries had to fight and claw his way to the top of TNA after being given lame gimmicks and forced to wrestle no name X Divisioners, and only made a name for himself after proving his worth in ROH.

@Justin Sharpe care to elaborate?
Only difference is CM Punk ACTUALLY drew good money, Aries comes across as a mark for himself so much, Bret Hart would blush.
Aries isnt wrong, in a wrestling match you and your opponent are sharing a ring and sharing the moment, he has always had a great heel persona, this interview shows he is a student of the game, he is gonna make whatever company he goes to work with backstage a ton of money. He also gets that the only bad press is if they spell your name wrong.....
I feel like wwe was trying to keep AA down his talents speaks for itself as well as neville let them go out in the main event and turn them loose ricochet austin aries neville and ali would have been epic
This is a conspiracy theory of mine but I believe, that Vince likes to break Indie Talents that come into WWE. Especially when their claim to fame wasn't inside his cookie cutter model. Sucks to see it tbh. I really enjoyed Austin's stint in early TNA and even his stuff on 205 live.
He should’ve stayed in nxt
Darian Sivers I agree w/ you too, I really hate how WWE has done Aries & is doing Ali, Ricochet, & many other "indie talents."
@@dariansivers631 You should check him out in MLW he's tearing it up tbh
Darian Sivers nah it’s cuz Aries is like punk someone who thinks people just watch them and only them you can tell he has the classic style their all carbon copy of Bret The Hitman Hart someone who focus on wrestler first then found a gimmick and Vince focuses on the entertainment aspect so looking at the it from that perspective can blind him bc he sees guys like that and think who tf gonna watch them he’s from the south which is probably why Vince fucks with Aj bc there both raised the same

So you didn't listen to anything in the interview got it..they can fuck over a world champ on short notice without even telling him let alone keep him in the loop..oh yeah the guys that the 12 away from his match were doing what exactly?? Did they robin hood those minutes and take it away from the big bad guy whose size is constantly getting ragged on and think that somehow shows they are better and for some reason they are way bigger but if anything just shows how much better he is than them because if he's this much better at his size and you can't come CLOOOOOOSSSEEE to his ability..so imagine if he was your size?? Hes fucking YOU if he so wants to lol..call him a homophobe then when you are seconding him to the ring in a wedding dress like Chelsea green..oh and back to the point. Were they putting the bully in his place by robinhooding that time they stole from him?? Take from the wealth(of ability and stardom he has somehow robbed from someone else?? You Robinhood and then donate the time to those less fortunate?? No?? What did they do with it?? Give it to make-a-wish?? Oh no they selfishly took something that wasn't theirs and showed your bosses up by thumbing your nose that they do what they want and fuck everything and everyone else
.they are the only ones who matter?? That's not going in to business for yourself but the guy who DID have the juice And belt and reason and ability to pretty much hold up the company and extort them for more money like warrior and Jarrett or just fuck them over and not show up and ruin everything after the bullshit they pulled with him by not including him in decision and springing it on him last minute without a warning but chose to use HIS albeit not ALL of the time he was deserved and was promised but instead went out there was a company man and any supervisor that didn't have a hard on for losers and could recognize talent could have used the example of him going out there and dropping it like a professional and put the business above All else and tell everyone in the locker room that is what a REAL CHAMPION and MAN does..the right thing for people who don't deserve it and if the world champ can do it then if anyone ever pulls the bullshit - that amateur..that bush league bullshit they will not make it to the pinfall before I march out there and immediately stop the match because from that moment you did that shit you were no longer an employee and give you your walking papers and not leave my eyesight until you are off the property where I will from there immediately go back to the ring and tell them what just happened and why and that if you fans in the building or watching on TV ever want to see those ex-employees that you better not hope to see them in that ring this channel or this company ever again and if that costs us fans I'm sorry And wish you would understand why and tell them the EXACT REASON why and that it sucks to lose some fans now but nobody for this company locker room or stadium or TV channel is worth losing even more fans for because maybe next time the bullshit they pull will be worse and no reason to think they wouldn't ever do it again if they feel emboldened by not receiving consequences for their actions and then later..there will be a "leak" about how appreciative they were for the real professional that put those fans and wrestling business first..so who was the one in business for themselves again?? It must be amazing to go through life without thinking you've ever done anything wrong.
Ahahahaha true
It’s why it’s funny to listen to Corny rant about him. Corny is entertaining to listen to of course but he’s the same way where most everything is always everyone else being wrong and him not being wrong. It’s always an interesting take to listen to when people see everything as being the other people’s problem over themselves being part of the problem. Also funny for me is Aries making a McDonald’s analogy because Corny makes a similar one here and there himself. Always funny when you have people who dislike each other but hear them say similar things.
Austin Aries would be a good Wolverine. He's closer to Wolverine's actual height in the comics and he has the look.

There really isn't a place in the modern day wrestling world for him and it's obvious, he hasn't tried to change anything about himself or the things he says to conform and yeah kudos to him but he keeps losing his jobs and no one really wants him anymore except for the rinky dink indie shows that keep hiring him. MLW is the best he really has right now but I can't really imagine that lasting very long. I don't see him remaining in the business for more than another 3-4 years. He's crast, he definitely sounds and looks like he needs help. Look at his match with Brian Pillman Jr, he literally looked terrible and the amount of weight he has shed may be from working out and grind, but he's fucking tiny and he is talking in loops here like he's on some fucking coke or some shit. He it in his head the world is against him at this point and it's because it is. People are afraid to hire him, no one will trust putting a major title on him, and if he doesn't come out of every angle looking good he will literally body the wrestler he is working with (John Morrison in this case). His prime is up and unless he gets his shit together, again, he won't be around for too much longer. I mean, he clearly has no loyalty to any brand, person, or thing except Austin Aries. He spent years building his name in TNA to betray them and spin it around to try to make them look like the bad ones. He can't even refrain himself from showing his true colors, his true thoughts about sensitive shit. The fact he so openly says some things shows his actual opinions of people and ideologies. I would love to be able to talk to Chris off-camera to get his take on it as he is visibly uncomfortable in the majority of this interview and his responses to Austin screams "Yeah, this dude is a fucking prick everyone was right."
No ones gonna read all that nor do we care
I agree man fuck this guy he will never be on john morison level not in wrestling or being marketable he a fuck boy who needs to get put in his place he was never a draw an he never will
@@Lightskinemagic1995 I disagree I think Aries is an incredible promo and great in the ring but he is self destructive, he will never make it very far with the way he does business. Heard he was backstage at AEW a few days ago, quote me on this, if AEW signs Austin Aries he will completely destroy the backstage locker room single handedly.
Don't understand why people say he is hard to work with. His positivity and real, let's make it work spirit, shines through 😁😁 Fantastically gifted wrestler and, thanks to UA-cam, his matches are there to enjoy forever.
I learned that myself after the match at Bound for Glory when Johnny Impact won the top title & Aries just got up immediately after the 3 count & just walked to the back, no selling the entire thing. That was incredibly disrespectful. But I don't hate him for it.
Been binging CVV interviews all day and this is by far my favourite one watched it from beginning to end up 👍👍👍👍
aries and roode were my favorite tag team back in the day
One of a kind interview as always CVV 👍 I did always wonder if he really had a stake in Ring Warriors and what ever happened to it???
2 hours? Holy shit, longest interview yet afaik.
1:59 mins too long
One of the BEST Interviews YET!
Hell of a guy! Much respect ✊
Say what you want but Aries is a real one for real
For a vegan, he sure skinned a lot of Muppets for those cushions!
That could be alpaca or fake but that wallpaper is held up with animal glue. Wall to wall animal murder lol
Pretty sure it's fake.
Thats whats left from his old jackets he wore in wwe.
A G yes he has. All over his instagram
Haha
Austin could be Teddy Hart's twin. Love Austin's honesty. Great interview Chris!
please more of these extra long interviews!
Officially the longest video I've ever watched in its entirety on UA-cam. That was fascinating. I didn't always agree with Austin's POV on some topics, but I definitely understand his personality a lot more now. Thanks CVV!
I've heard Jim Cornette complain about Kevin Steen's weight.
That is why I take his opinion on AEW with a grain of salt.
Another great interview - and just like the Enzo one - totally different than I expected.
Do you also take his WWE critiques with a grain of salt also?
Michael Pate aew is garbage

Cornette's run in TNA is all the reason you need to take him with a grain of salt.
