      For me,it's Chris,Joe Rogan,Jocko Willink(a former Navy SEAL turned podcaster)Big Herc(a UA-camr with a prison channel),Adam22(who hosts a Hip Hop podcast called No Jumper but the guy can basically talk to anyone),Sam Harris,Tim Ferris,Andy Stumpf(another Navy SEAL turned podcaster)and there are several others that come to mind,too.
      But I think Chris Van Vliet is a skilled interviewer and one of the best out there. Good conversation is really an art and a skill-a lot of people don't realize that.

      @@vivekshrestha6014 it wouldnt matter if he was Larry fucking King, if you're interviewing someone and you constantly interrupt and ask questions and talk the majority of the time you are a shitty interviewer. Sure, some people may just tune in because they like the interviewer but theres a line between interviewing someone and bringing them on and talking about/to yourself the whole time.

      Yeah,he's a great interviewer and very good at what he does! I enjoy watching his interviews and not only does he ask the question and let the subject answer,he reminds me of Joe Rogan(who I honestly think is one of the best interviewers in any medium)in that he can talk to different people from different backgrounds and walks of life and get the subject to feel comfortable,at ease and get them to open up.

    Jim Ross is a national treasure in or out of wrestling. His commentary style is perfect for AEW. Commentators HAVE TO have fun, also. So many great memories with Jim at the commentary helm. Bless him for what he had to go through and STILL kill it!

    Just got around to watching this interview in full and one thing I've noticed once again is how well you manage to make your guests feel comfortable. It's really great how you're able to take all the ego bullshit out and just let the guests be in the spotlight.That's true professionalism right here if you ask me and we appreciate all the work you're doing!

      WCW didn't focus on WCW. WWE is dying and Kenn Omega admitted that they are competing against Vince on Twitter.
      I'm telling you guys, it has Ted Turner's fingerprints on it. Why now he returns to wrestling industry?
      WWE is at its weakest point and Ted Turner knows how WWE ticks. TNT wouldn't take the deal if it didn't benefit Ted Turner.

    My family came from Haiti in the late 80s they couldn't speak English and it was easy to enjoy wrestling without really understanding what they were saying. I started to take an interest at 7 and my family encouraged us all to watch. 21 years later I've gone to WWE shows and Wrestlemania and indy shows. My room is filled with Undertaker memorabilia and my crazy ass even got him tattooed on my arm lol and no matter people say about pro wrestling, some of the best moments in my life was some kind of experience with pro wrestling. Could not imagine my life without it. ❤

      Michael Cole sucks!! Worst commentator ever!! Big reason why wwe sucks. Commentating, match, and superstars larger than life are necessary for a complete sucessfull package. JR made Cole look Ok. No JR and Cole couldn't hold a candle to what Jim Ross had.

      Cole was ok as a heel, so much so that everbody cheered John Cena when he covered him in barbecue sauce, and during the time that Cena himself was getting a lot of hate.
      I'd rather Cole was a manager or interviewer though, never liked him much as a commentator

      I remember watching that match on RAW way back then in 2002. It was too bad Jeff didn't win. I wanted him to. What I don't get was why Jim's attitude towards Jeff changed later on in the summer of 2009 when Jeff feuded with CM Punk. During that feud, Jim seemed to be taking CM Punk's side.

    JR is the last of the old school real announcing craftsmen. He is 100% correct too that it is better to not know the finish. I can remember Michael Cole annoucing a win before the three count was even done a few times or calling a kickout that hadnt even happened yet since he knew it was coming. JR’s calls are just like a fan and he is surprised so it is authentic.

    JR has always been an inspiration to me cause if someone with an illness that doesn't allow him to speak very well and complete deny the ability to smile becomes the greatest commentator in history of pro wrestling means that everybody can accomplish something in life no matter how complicated their situation is; if hard work is implemented every day constantly everyone can achieve success in what they believe and transform their passion into work

    Jim Ross has all I want in a commentator: affective memory because his voice is linked to most the greatest moments of wrestling. Great knowledge of he's talking about. Reliability in his reactions. Professionalism. JR's one of the biggest signings AEW ever made. Jim Ross means familiarity with Pro Wrestling.

      Chris Van villet this is random but would you agree that Bret was a draw WWE was never danger going out business.they would been second in rating but they were beating WCW house show and PPV live gate. Business was strong duirng Bret run just not as much hogan era Serval ppv that Bret lead made money

    Its weird hearing them talk about how the commentators always tell backstroies while matches are going on because i literally just watched a throwback an hr ago of Joey Styles shoot promo on while when he quit, he said the exact same thing JR said

      Uncle Jessie Styles was speaking the truth. Joey was always calling the action in the ring. Guys like Corey Graves are talking about the wrestlers personal life rather then talk about what’s going on in the ring.

Pretty much any time you ever hear JR talk he will find some way to use a sports analogy. Not that I disagree with his point that commentary is terrible but I'm just saying that JR has been guilty of it too.
