    Having Christian talk about his marriage and the depression that followed his divorce is a blessing in disguise for those who have gone through it. A lot of people (myself included) don't like to divulge that information, so I have all the respect in the world for him talking about all of that! Thanks Jay.

    He's always been criminally underrated. His in ring work is great, his work on the mic makes you invested in his character and he's elite at making you hate him. It's sad that WWE never saw the potential in him as a singles competitor. WWE needs to allow the talent to have more input on their own promos because it just doesn't seem real. If they just allowed Christian to say what he wanted to say instead of some nerd telling him what to do, they'd have more stars on the roster.

    • @SpeedChamp467
      @SpeedChamp467 2 місяці тому

      but he elevated tag team wrestling as a whole while he was in WWE....so it's not like his WWE stint was a total failure. Also at least WWE was willing to offer him spots in the Royal Rumble matches...TNA and AEW won't even do Royal Rumble matches...or rarely if at all.

    I don't care what anyone says about age or whatever. Christian Cage is still one of the very best in the world today and he must get a run at the very top in AEW! He's a true master of the game. His demeanor, his cadence in a promo and the way he controls the crowd, how he makes everything in a match mean something and how unbelievably professional he is to put so much effort into what he does despite already being one of wrestling's legends! He deserves much more credit than what he gets and I truly hope to see him have an iconic AEW World Championship run!

    Great interview, Chris!
    I remember the period Christian talked about re the Batista/Cena era. I was there at that taped Raw in England and the crowd was hot for Christian, it wasnt even close! Many people were disappointed that his Captain Charisma t-shirt wasnt on sale at the merch stands. There were so many signs for him in the crowd & I remember watching the Raw back on TV thinking “This sound has been edited BIG TIME!”
    The triple threat match he speaks about, I felt that they didnt want the same reaction vs Cena as he was already starting to get booed so they then add Chris Jericho for an extra heatseeker.
    But Christian had it at all that time, the waterproof blonde theme music & having the muscle in Tyson Tomko completed the package imo

Father of the year 2023 and front runner for Father of the year 2024. Some of my favorite wrestling television I've seen in decades. Im 37 and I have watched this man since he debuted in wwf and have been a fan since he debuted because I was already into the brood angle going on. I hadn't been able to accept his retirement accept for it being concussion related and Ive wanted to meet Christian for 26 years since I was 11. I was always a Christian guy. I was a day 1peep. I think if you like nothing on AEW tv but you give any Christian Cage segment a chance you will be entertained. He has no problems being the biggest heel in the world

  • @JRMagro

    MJF and Christian were neck and neck for top heel in aew. Then mjf turned face and everyone claimed aew was screwed because they got rid of their best heel... then Christian really turned up the heat and showed everyone that he had no problem carrying the head heel role.

      Another reason why I firmly believe that Vince didn't want this man to succeed. It's like he was trying to push others yet it didn't work and the people chose Christian so Vince took it personally or something. Both before his Christian Cage TNA run and after it, Christian should've been used much better!
