What an inspiration, for a person who struggles with addiction it’s incredible to hear the struggles and triumph. Love ya Geordie and Kurt . Keep up the good work .
Arguably the greatest technical wrestler that WWE, TNA and maybe even wrestling as a whole has ever seen. It was always incredible to watch him wrestle and to do it by pushing through such pain, especially around his neck, is so inspiring. Kurt is an absolute legend!
Good interview here. Really engaged Kurt and you could tell he was enjoying answering these questions. Really good questions Tbf, didn’t ask the generic questions everyone asks him.. enjoyed olympics chat!
not a huge wrestling fan but this was a fascinating watch and I have lot of admiration for Kurt after watching this. I worked on TNA Impact video game in 2008 editing and animating Kurt's motion capture performances and the many many moves he did, the reason why I watched this show. Hard to appreciate what he put himself through with the intense training and his injuries. Respect. Nice one Brian
Always glad whenever a true legend of the world lime Kurt Angle gets a spotlight, he succeded in everything he did and is a tremdeous person and athlete. Extra props for always giving Benoit the credit he deserves.
Really enjoyed this, I was already a Kurt Angle fan beforehand! Loved watching TNA as a kid with him and Aj Styles! To now know what he was going through during those times changes your perspective massively and I have upmost respect for him!👊🏻
great interview Brian! Kurt is a legend, I've been a fan of his for nearly 20 years now since I started watching wrestling, so good to see him happy & healthy
This was brilliant. I will say this on the Benoit subject; you have to separate the art from the artist, if you don’t you’re only spiting yourself because his work was some of the best the wrestling business has ever seen.
I would counter simply: it's a personal choice. Benoit was my hero, and also a LOCAL hero to me. I was in Edmonton live for backlash. I can't watch Benoit matches. I tried a couple times. I don't feel a desire to try. I wouldn't demand that his work is erased, nor that any other person should stop watching Benoit matches. By the same token, neither should anybody be required to separate the art from the artist. (This is wholly separate from any argument about celebrating the man posthumously; I would argue strongly that there is no way to celebrate his career. His murder of two people negates that.) I listen to musicians that bothers choose not to. I see it case by case, and individual choice. 🙌
it's impossible sometimes when it's THAT serious, separating the art from the artist works when its something like the the artist having different political views, but I cannot watch a Benoit match without knowing in my mind that he murdered a woman and child, it's just not possible for me to enjoy his matches
This is such a great interview, u can really tell kurt enjoyed this , probably cuz u knew his story and he must do alot of interviews with people who dont know anything apart from this wwe run . Good job true geordie
A great guy Kurt Angle & as someone that grew up watching him, as a pure wrestler he's the best I've ever seen. He also had the charisma, personality & mic skills to, which a lot of wrestlers great in the ring lack. One of the top stars of his era both as a heel & babyface.
KURT ANGLE IS A TRUE LEGEND HE CAME BACK FROM THE BRINK OF DESTRUCTION SO PROUD OF HIM HES ALWAYS BEEN 1 OF MY FAVORITE WRESTLERS...GREAT INTERVIEW GEORDIE...
From a 56 year old lady, i love Kurt Angel, watched many of his matches, great to see him looking well.. Second video iv seen so far of yours, so iv joined your podcast on Spotify 👍👍
Big thank you to True Geordie for giving us a podcast with the legend Kurt Angle, it's always good to hear from his point of view and it gives professional wrestling a good impression based on the backstory of what truly goes on. I'm not longer a fan of the professional wrestling product in WWE, AEW has better entertainment but from his era in both TNA and WWE he really went out his way to give us athletism and a raw performance. This is why MMA fans or any combat sport fan should recognise how much these athletes go through on the road all year round, it's not easy, one match is tiresome and top of that taking constant abuse to the body with the expectation to train for in and out the ring. It's a brutal sport that has gotten many men killed, we need to start appreciating it instead of labelling it the "fake sport". I watch MMA and Boxing, whether I'm more accustomed to the realism of both sports at age 28, pro wrestling has always given me more entertainment than both. If giving entertainment is a crime because it's scripted, than call me a clown with the rest... Your life is boring if you think it's not possible to watch combat sports and enjoy pro wrestling.
kurt angle is universally loved, some say the true goat of wrestling, i really enjoyed kurt angle as a guest, will you do more interviews with WWE wrestlers?
What a contrast it is to watch a man like Angle compared to someone like Fury when you spoke to him, wish Angle all the best in life, what an absolute warrior by the way WOW 😳
Great interview. Listened to Kurt on JRE a few weeks ago and have to say this was a far more compelling interview. The fan in TG comes across here and just a more engaging interbiew
Angle is so modest when he is hailed as the G.O.A.T. He claims he’s not the greatest because he didn’t remain loyal to one promotion for an extended period of time. However he forgets that Austin and the Rock had relatively short careers compared to guys like triple H, Michael’s, Kane & Taker. You don’t have to work 20 years straight with one company. It’s what you do in the time that is given to you. Regardless of what he thinks about his career he is awesome. A genuine gift to the world of pro-wrestling and perc angle was a beast!
I do think that if the drugs doesn't run rough shot on Kurt (or if the UFC was as big now as it was back then), Kurt could've easily been one of the first big names of the UFC, along Fedor Emelianenko and Randy Couture.
The word GOAT gets thrown around like a 20 dollar hooker nowadays. However, when it comes to Kurt Angle. It has real meaning. Kurt Angle is one of the GOATS in amateur wrestling/pro wrestling. Mad respect to Kurt for still recognizing Chris Benoit. Their match at RR 2003, stands the test of time!
loved kurt he is defo one of the GOAT hes a wrestling machine no one could go like like kurt could and an absolute great guy.. your name will live forever in the wresting world
Kurt's life's had crazy ups and down losing his dad so young to losing his mentor Dave schultz but to win a gold medal with a legit broken neck and then to have the success he's had amatuer and pro wrestling but obviously his addiction problems and breaking his neck another 6 times the pain he must been in and still is no wonder he was having to Medicate like he was to be able to perform why being in that pain. But glad to see he's in a better place than he was
Brilliant interview..in an ironic way his addictive personality helps with his sobriety..almost like he's addicted to staying sober. He's one of the best ever
What a fantastic podcast, brilliant questions asked brilliant real responses from Kurt. It’s fascinating to really find out what was going on behind the scenes when it seems like someone’s at the very top of their craft. Top stuff all round 👏🏾

Kurt was so engaged in this video, what great guy.
From start to finish, brilliant interview

Great chat. Kurt was fully engaged and you could tell he liked the flow of the conversation. Not just generic questions that didn’t flow. Nice one!
As a wrestling fan I love explaining to people we say "you suck" to Kurt because we love him.
I literally can’t think of anything or anywhere else other than wrestling, where telling someone they suck means that they’re loved. 😂
Look how excited Kurt is to answer any question, what a great interview
Imagine if you could interview Vince
That would be mental
it certainly would be 😂
I have a massive new found respect for Kurt. I didn't know any of his back story, before this, apart from the Olympics etc. Great interview.
A personally don’t like him pal, but each to their own. Have a good one 👌

Kurt Angle was one of my fav wrestlers growing up, I still got his WWE figure.. oh it's true
He played the dork so well.

Kurt is on of the best interviews.
