I bought one each for my husband and I last Oct for our birthdays and Christmas. Ordered in Oct and arrived 12/23. We’re both 64 and about 100 pounds overweight. I’m 5’0 and he’s 6’1. This has changed our life. We feel like kids running away every time we ride. We also bought 2 Sena microphones and glued them into our helmets so we can chat or listen to music as we ride. We ride about 4-5 days a week and are up to 30 miles each ride. We honestly feel like we don’t want to come home - it is such an escape. We are out of the recliners and just taking in the scenery and living life! We added mirrors, and later bought an extra battery which we keep on our consoles. Got seat cushions on mine and hubby replaced his seat with one with shocks. We ride at assist level 3 which is just cruising and use throttle for hills. We could make it harder later as we lose more weight just by lowering the assist level. We’ve lost about 15 pounds but need to change our eating. Our leg strength is now amazing. Was having trouble climbing stairs and now I bounce up them. If you want to feel like a kid again, this is it.
Also, this is probably TMI but learned it from some real bikers. Slather up your bottom and top of your legs where they meet your torso with coconut oil or ointment before you ride. It makes a huge comfort difference.
It takes us 2 hours to ride 30 miles and we don’t want it to end. By that time, our battery is flashing. We can then swap out to our spare battery or come home and usually we’re exhausted by then. It takes about 5 hours to recharge a fully used battery. So overnight we recharge the bikes and our Sena helmet speakers and we’re ready to go again the next morning.
I order the bike to also change my retired lifestyle, I need to exercise bad and i have bad knees for walking so I’m super excited so i hope to be riding within two weeks? Best of luck to you both..
I've had mine for 3 weeks now and I agree, this bike is freaking AWESOME. I got rid of my Mountain Bike as I after ridding the RAD, you don't need a traditional bike anymore.
I've been eyeing Radrunner for months now. I wanted to order two. One for me & one for hubby but we decided to hold off for now. We still are interested. Thanks for the comprehensive review!
I love mine. It’s perfect If you have a garage . Manual says should be kept INDOORS! If I had known that I would have gotten the folding mini step thru, if I could be sure i wasn’t too tall for it. You tube shows 6 feet plus riding it but e description says up to 5’ 10”. You can fit two of the folding mini-step through in most average or bigger size hatchbacks.
You can also go to '0' PAS (pedal assist) - you don't have to turn the motor off to get to 0. That way all the other information (speed, battery, etc) continues to be displayed and you are in manual bike pedalling.
Its refreshing to see a common size guy riding this bike and liking it. do you ever feel it not enough bike for your weight or height? length between seat and bars OK? I've actually seen a guy a lot bigger than you riding the same runner plus and he seemed fine. thanks
Wondering if you know of any discount codes for the spike it has gone up to 1899. And I’m thinking about getting it for my daughter and her children. I think she would just love this.
Should put battery charger on a hard surface, preferably one that heat will not damage or be a fire hazard. I realize you are probably already doing that but video makes it all ear that you’re charging on seat.
Everytime I try to tell friends and fam about electric bikes they turn them down and say it defeats the purpose of exercising. Yes they are all boring.
From all the videos I’ve seen where the headlight is in use, it looks far too focused to me and I’m concerned it does little to light up surroundings. I would like to get your opinion on this since you claim to enjoy night riding. I just ordered the same bike and am already thinking I need to supplement with additional lights for night riding
@@Emerald.Phoenix I received a couple of other other branded bikes since then and compared to those other bikes lights I absolutely love the light on the radrunner Plus.
I commuted to work for the past 16 years by bike. The ride home is always in the dark. Is the light on the plus enough? I'd say it depends. If your night rides are going to be on well lit roads with out any long downhills that get your speed much higher than the 20mph limit. I'd say it's fine. With that said you can't go wrong with adding another. I'd personally recommend Xposure lights. I've had a few additions of their diablo model and it's a bad ass.
Rad lights not enough it’s like the other statements Rad make they are false battery will not give the distance the claim and if you are out with normal size ( average woman ) according to Rad the battery 45/50 miles forget it you will get around 30 miles - also tests done in perfect conditions - Rad bikes don’t like rain as controller is situated under the pedals and it catches all road grime - the bike cuts out - when you try pedal the bike without assist complete nightmare
I’ve got a new one, about two weeks with the 20 X 3.3 tires. We can’t read the psi range, blurry on tires. How much is PSI. Radrunner manual says “ see tire for PSI. Can someone answer this for me? Thanks
@@GregglesTV I haven't installed it yet but I got a cloud 9 seat. I've heard they are some of the best. I rode about a mile to a store and back an my butt was hurting after such a short ride on the stock seat. Btw! Since ur such a fold 2 owner does ur phone holder work well with the fold 2? I'll more than likely be picking up the fold 3 so I'm curious.

Your obvious getting paid by Rad - The bike is a dog I have replaced every electrical part and still having problems yes still under warranty and still being ignored by RAD - My slogan RAD IS BAD Do Not Touch it
You forgot to mention that their customer service is terrible. I wanted to try one of their bikes, because online reviews are...less than helpful, thus far. The Rad web site is useless. So, I contacted them. I got a useless auto-reply. Unfortunately, when their person replied, her reply was even less helpful--and she mis-spelled my name! She was apparently blissfully oblivious to the fact that the Rad web site is completely out of date. All their "network locations" anywhere me listed on the Rad site have apparently been closed for a long time. Without Rad's total lack of support, terrible customer service, and dearth of locations, their products are worthless.
I haven't had to really deal with their customer service just yet but I do have a service appointment to fix my tire with a rad shop nearby in San Diego so I'll probably do a video on that and see how it goes
@@GregglesTV I don't live anywhere near there, so going to their shop is not an option. Actually, I cannot breathe in dry climates, and the pollution there is unbearable.

Well done review. I ordered mine 2 days ago with the console too. Can’t wait! Thank you
You're going to love it enjoy and thank you !!
I love how much your channel is expanding!
☝️🙏🙏
Nice description of how it feels riding a bike. ✌🐯
I really like seeing that your about my size as that was a concern of mine, I’m 6’ 220 lbs i hope this will last me for many years
Holy moly! Going down the boat ramp was almost crazy. Glad you weren't speeding! 🤣🤣
Hahaha staged video

This bike handles up to 350 pounds with power to spare.
I agree, my radrunner plus exceeded my expectations!
How substantial of a hill can it climb without pedaling? Could it go up the boat ramp?
How far and how fast can you go on full throttle ?
Does that centre console storage interfere with your pedaling? do your inner quads rub against it? I got thick legs.
No no and no. Doesn't bother me at all

looks fun 👍😁
I’m 5’9” do you feel cramped pedaling ,
How fast dose it go
20 mph

I run my stock RR plus tires at 30psi, seems good and helps when the ride is bumpy.
IMHO, I think you need to raise that headlight up quite a bit.

It does great in the rain

IF you find that seriously awsome you will find a Tern , A benno , or Riese and Müller for example out of this world .
