Excellent information. I'm building a high powered recumbent electric scooter with a 72V-63Ah battery pack. The info you provided makes me feel a little more comfortable.
Thanks for this. I went the other direction on my current project/repair job: faulty issue with a grin kit - ended up removing the grin controller and CA and put in a cheap KT controller and display - fixed the pulsing problem and got more top speed from the bafang 750w fat geared motor. I think the 20a grinfineon controller just did not want to play nice with this motor or it was damaged....either way the new parts helped me rule out the motor as the problem and got the bike back on the road. Grin parts customer service was very helpful but after much back and forth and stalled progress, in this case cheap parts from aliexpress was just a simpler path to troubleshoot by elimination.

These Videos are so useful and informative, I built my own from budget fat bike and regularly comumute year round but have continuous trouble with sprockets and headsets I may consider getting a broke down Factory bike and do this cos they're well screwed together. Gotta paint it tho
I revised a radrunner+ like this and, yeah, it's a great platform to build of off. I mounted a PhaseRunner in that same spot (back when they were available ;D), went to 52v, and swapped out to a much larger DD motor for that silent running cool. Never did get my speedo to work, so I'll have to try that trick with the spinning and, maybe, it's time to add an external speed sensor.
Take note of what he said about the motor magnet pairs, you'll need to know that number to tell your bike computer how many pulses is in one revolution, pair that with the outer circumference of your wheel and you'll have your speedometer.
just bought baserunner to replace the factory non programmable bafang controller on my conversion for a bit more efficiency and speed. looking forward to installing it!
I've found forceps to be really great for fishing wires through frames. Pretty surprisingly handy tool for a number of other ebike related repairs as well. Say like if you need to cinch up a zip tie that's in a tight spot or too close to your brake rotor to avoid touching the disc with your hands.
@@GrinTechnologies haha..yeah I would imagine so. Tbh tho it's getting pretty tough to find a good wire hanger around these days when you need one. (Ahem..."no more wire hangers.")
I use paracord. If one strips the core fibers out of it then one can fit the braided portion over the cable connectors and use it like a "Chinese Finger Trap" to hold the connectors and form a smooth transition. Note that it can also be used as a cable shroud if one has a bundle of several cables.

Best video ever! 😀 That sure looks like a uncomfortable bike with that big box between your legs. Is there a way to set the base-phase-franken runners to power levels with a up down switch on the handle bars?
Yes actually we didn't go into it in this video but you'll see it in the next one when we add the torque sensor and setup the handlebar MFSwitch to have several different assist levels. It can just as easily be set for power limits if you are running a throttle only system without PAS.
Saw you at some contest for ya new design alternater like motor. Believe you won a grant if ya patent. You awesome tech and learned a lot from ya videos, especially the issues of DIY Dual AWD. Kept me from making average mistakes. It took me to build e bike with Turbo Booster over a Dual Set up meaning I have no extra CLUTTER of add on parts while building for performance and energy efficiency. Applied a lot of ya knowledge. God bless and good luck on ya projects to be marketed thru this field.
This is awesome! I love the software you've developed for the controllers. Opens up so many options to hotrod an old or existing ebike setup. I wonder what the physical limitation on a 1500W voilamart hub motor is...
Well you can easily open up your motor and measure the width of the stator or magnet. If it's 27mm you can use the 9C27XX models in our simulator to understand the thermal performance limits, both with and without statorade coolant. If it's a 35mm stator you can use the Cystyatye 'H' motor series as your reference, and if it's a 45mm stator you can use the MXUS models. The voilamart branded hubs are just another generic 205mm diameter DD motor series.
You're basically talking about me here. 2018 Rad Mini, is now a GrinRad Mini. Apart from the Frame, Fenders Stem & Shocks, the only thing left is the actual motor und veelz. I'm learning Industrial design and plan on making my own frames for bikes, trikes, work vehicles and larger. Grin is basically the (Weitzlar not Solms) Leica-Lego of the DIY vehicle world, or are the grandfathers of electric fuckery.
Is there no way to implement a hall counter "mode" within the software? All the information seems to be already there. A simple prompt for the user to rotate the wheel exactly once (in the correct direction). Press done and the software has the count. Do it multiple times in-case there was backlash or sloppy user rotation.
Yes we've considered this! The main issue is that the maximum polling rate from the ASI controller is about 3 Hz, so with geared motors you can get many hall transitions taking place when people turn a motor by hand that the software doesn't "see" and would result in an erronous number. But with proper notice to the user this would still be better than nothing and having them count out in their head :-) We'll revisit this in future release updates, perhaps as an extra optional 1st step in the motor 'autotune' routine.
My Phoenix Curser Controller broke and I could not reach the new owners of the brand. If I didn't find the Grin controllers I don't know if I would have been able to make the old motor run again.
Seems like the Phaserunner Suite could be updated to include a feature that would help you count the hall toggles? Put the valve on the bottom, it'd ask you to spin the wheel exactly once, then the software could count the hall toggles on screen?
It's a good idea, but unfortunately there is a 3Hz communication limit between the software and the controller so many of the hall sensor states would get missed if it is turned at a normal speed in a false value. There may be a way of rapidly reading just the hall states and not the rest of the data with a "count halls" pop-up window that changes the communication calls to be a lot faster, so we'll look into that!
just want to point out that this isn't exactly stock as that front fork has been switched out which means added weight. I have done lots of my modifications to my radrunner built entire 12v system on it with motorcycle headlight, turn signals and horn. I have also switched out my front fork to dual crown suspension forks. my planned upgrades is 50amp controller and a 1000w geared motor bafang g062 I will most likely have the highest torque radrunner and have 2 grin v4 torque arms coming today.
I tried to open your link to your website and it says UA-cam can not open this link, might want to look at it, Also anything new coming in new advancements in the electric motors? I see a lot of exciting news in battery technology the future looks very good for ebikes.
Unless your bike has the battery key on the left side of your bike, then you may need to turn 2 clicks towards the rear of the bike. Also, remove your key so it doesn't bang anything on the way up. Plus, you may want to raise your seat up so you have room.
Thanks for the info but nothing like blowing through stop signs on a silent missile . A pedestrian was just killed this week on a walking cycling path in front of my house by an eight year old on a e-scooter.
FWIW we had a spotter at the intersection to check that it was clear. Unfortunately there weren't any straight stretches nearby long enough to accelerate to full speed at the location we were filming.
This is awesome - we appreciate the detail (and the in-frame fishing!). I have the US Radrunner 1 (2021). I think the 750w motor has more power than the Canada version? Anyway, I was wondering if I would be able to get up to 28mph (45 kph) with the Frankenrunner controller in this video? I have a 35amp controller but the motor and battery are stock.
We're not Privy to Rad's sourcing details but I'd suspect that both the US and CAD versions of the radrunner have the same motor, but just that the Canadian model has a lower current limit on the motor controller to keep it at 500W. You absolutely need field weakening to achieve the higher top speed if you are keeping the stock motor and battery. A higher current motor controller in and of itself will only increase the torque and power off the line and at lower speeds, but won't change the top end.
It needs to be a wide axle fatbike motor which limits the options. But there are some large direct drive hubs for fatbikes that can be run at much higher power levels. At that point you need a new battery and new controller too, so you'd be replacing everything but the frame.
Bafang g062 for the radrunner make sure it's the z916 model for direct connection to stock/35amp controller. Or go with the the controller in the video and get the same motor but with the l1019 connector instead
@@londongrace5784 the radrunner is 168mm I believe. Which means you just need to be able to pry the rear frame open just enough and slide it in or file it down a bit and it will work perfectly. Plus motor cable will be on the same side as the 1.5 revision (unofficial revision name that has the motor cable out the brake rotor side)
grin makes the cream of ebike parts, the best in the world for sure. Sadly though, I cant afford to buy any and have to keep struggling with cheapo, generic chinese crap that breaks after a use or two....
We were doing *that too once upon a time with our first projects at university back in the day! At least you learn useful repair skills and then truly appreciate the good stuff once you have it.
Routing cables use shop vacume and suck a peice of string threw the frame then use string to pull wire or as i use peracord then pull the wire or cable you need routed .
They do not out of the factory no, but you CAN add a thermistor in parallel the the wheel speed sensor signal and have the demux circuitry of our baserunner controllers separate out the speed and temperature data and recreate them for the Cycle Analyst. The process of doing that was a tentatively planned part 4 of this video series.
Frankenrunner? Damn I'm out of date. Did you say that was "The most powerful FOC controller you stock"? Nice small package, looks like it was made to fit that bracket.
It's been discontinued. That item was always just a stop-gap motor controller when we couldn't get the Phaserunners produced due to chip shortages during the pandemic.
woukd these upgrades also work for a radrunner 3 plus? They changed the battery and the controller and the display I believe. I also think the battery may have gotten some communication pins. I just really like the frame but being able to mod was one of the core reasons for my interest in rad in the first place.
For the display and controller changes it doesn't matter since those are getting swapped out, but if the battery actually needs controller communications in order to turn on then that would be a real bummer.
@@GrinTechnologies this is one of the drawbacks my Aventon Abound presents - it uses 5 conductors from the battery to the controller. It's possible that the Runner 3 only uses two conductors in spite of having more than two connection pins
Yes, as long as you accept full responsibility for everything after that. Like if you strip the gears, damage the clutch, overheat the windings, melt the connectors etc. that's totally on you.
Either you can test it with a load that draws 65A, or you can find out from the company / supplier of the battery or BMS circuit. But most battery sellers don't really know much, or have nameplate specs on the battery sticker that don't necessarily match BMS cutoff specs. So the only way to know for sure it to actually measure it yourself.
@@GrinTechnologies yes. I got it. Everything went sooo smooth with your video. So happy with my new bike phaserunner brains👍 my riding habbits even changed which ended up in extending the range of my battery. Thank you
You are great, I love your videos. I have a etrike I built, and when I twist the throttle a bit to fast I get a chattering noice I think comming from the motor as the handle bar shakes as well (front wheel drive) this is a kit, all I know is that it is 48 volts 1500 watt motor that I bought off Amazon. The battery was advertised as high capasity 20 ah 48 volt. Do you have any ideas that I can check to see what that chattering is coming from and how to fix it? It seems to do this upon throttle up and it does not take very much twist to set it off, then I can go again under throttle gingerly.
As always, you should get support from the vendor who sold you the product. This may be just the nature of the motor controller and motor combo that they used. Or it could be a sign of some less than optimal tuning parameters. But in any case the person who was in the business of selling you the kit is the one who bears responsibility for supporting it, and if they don't have a clue about what they sold then you should take future business elsewhere.
@@GrinTechnologies Thank you. I have in my cart 2 V7 torque arrestors so I hope that stops breaking off dropouts. I will have to cut the wires past the wheel and install water proof connectors. Thanks again.
Hi, would like to ask how many amps I can add to my scooter battery, currently running 48v 15ah. my controller is rated 20ah. can I use 48v 45ah on my 20ah controller?
You can use batteries of as many amp-hours as you like. Amps and amp-hours are two very different things. The more amp-hours of battery capacity the better. There is no such thing as a 20ah controller. There is only a 20A controller.
Hello, I have a 1000 watt Bafang motor from the front of an Arial grizzly 52V ebike. It is making a noise like a bee. It has everything new inside, the new bearings, the new clutch and it continues that noise like a bee. Can you shed light on that for me? noise?
Unless you have a motor with helical cut gears it is normal that there would be an audible buzzing gear sound coming from the motor. Otherwise most of the time the noise is excessive it's because it is a particularly poorly cut set of gears or because you have some damaged teeth. Neither the bearing or clutch cause buzzing noise so replacing those with new ones is neither here nor there.
Did you have any startup issues from standstill or uphill? I had many emails with support after buying L10 baserunner, adapter motor cable, cycle analyst from Grin. I cannot take off while on the seat and facing uphill. Bike needs a rolling start. Issue with both original Rad motor and Bafang G62 (1000watt) I laced in later. Finally your team said it was a throttle commutation issue and it was left at that. I now just stay in 1st gear and use PAS then throttle to get going. I just updated firmware on CA and Phaserunner software hoping again for a fix. No dice. is the issue with L10 Baserunner if the Frankenrunner works? But you all tested the controller so that is confusing. Dashboard hall sensors fine like in your video. Bolton bikes controller works fine. I know there are plenty throttle options. I tried so many prior to sending Grin my motor, controller, adapter harness for testing.
Thank you very much for this informative video. Can you also provide all ordering link of all the connectors, controllers and display of your upgrade you've done on RadRunner? As an example; A. Connectors: 1. Stock battery connector (3-pin) to L1019 connector. 2. Stock throttle connector to CA3-WP display. 3. Stock brake lever connector (Higo 2pin) to CA3-WP display. 4. Stock front head light connector (Higo 2pin-red color) to CA3-WP display. 5. Rear brake light connector (blue color) to CA3-WP display. B. Sensor 1. New pedal assist sensor (PAS) that match Frankenrunner controller connector. 2. If stock PAS can be used, please provide link to the connector. C. Controller - please provide the link. D. Display - please provide the link. Thank you again in advance. :)
I have a SMLRO xdc 600 ,does not turn on no power ,No display ,my problem is that I am trying to change motor controller but WIRES aren't marked , bike is a 48V 2000watt dual motors. So do you have wiring DIAGRAMS for this kind of problem,if so please at to your Website, Thanks guys,
In principle the company who sold that bike to you and pocketted all the profit should provide you with all the support required to troubleshoot and fix the problems you are experiencing no? Writing Schematics are basically non existent with factory ebikes so if you don't have the electronic skills to figure that out with multimeters, deductions, and trial and error, then the best approach is usually to just replace everything
Hey man. I have 42 volt battery system.. I want top speed with some power.. I'll be doing mostly road riding.. I don't do hardly no off-road at all.. I'm on a bugit so what would u do if you was me. I have a hard tail with shocks in front.. 26 inch wheels.... I'd like to have at least 45 mpr no worried about range that much..
Hey Robert, I would simply get a hub motor with a fast motor winding, like 12 rpm/V, and a high current motor controller. 45 mph is ridiculous to expect, but at least 30+ mph is doable .
In principle yes, but not if you are looking for a plug and play swap. When you switch to a 3rd party controller, you generally need to redo all of your electical wiring connectors and often change out a number of the peripherals too (like the display).
@@GrinTechnologies yes I understand that. Would it be cheaper to buy a kit that comes with everything besides the battery because I already have a 52v 17.5ah aftermarket battery.
Hi, I was watching this video, had a question and wondered if you can answer it because you seem super good at all this lol... Very good video btw. So I just ordered a couple of ebikes from china that are dual bafang 1000 watt and dual 52v 22ah samsung each, I ordered one for me and one for my wife. They are not here for another month but i have been following a youtube channel that has the same bike so I can learn about it and I found an issue. He says that the front motor is connected to the front motor only and not the display so the rear wheel is connected to the display and the rear motor. He says if he runs the back one out he has to remove the front and back battery and swap positions to carry on. I thought the issue is probably that it does not have a battery switch in the system but another video shows it has two controllers at 28 amps each and then the two motors and the two batteries so can I even add the battery or ( parellel ) switch to this set up? Thanks in advance, Steve from Kimberley BC
Hi Steve, if you order your ebikes from china you should be expecting to get your tech support from China as well and not from us. They are the ones profiting from the bicycle sale and who should have built in the service overhead into their price model! That said it is not at all surprising that only one of the two controllers would be connected to the display. It's a bit silly to run independent batteries rather than a shared large capacity pack for a lot of reasons, but parallel connecting batteries via the discharge port can have risks too as you loose the cell overcharge BMS protection. See ua-cam.com/video/Ub4EP2_mAds/v-deo.html If you want to learn more on the technical details about multi-motor ebike drives.
@@GrinTechnologies As an IT manager for several car dealerships that has just retired I was looking for information from the people that probably sell the product and since It was obvious that you know more about it than I do I thought I would ask what was needed before I buy the wrong thing. Thanks for your time, appreciated.
Yup. We actually built an euc back in 2009 or so (ie self balancing one wheeled platform that you stand on and can't pedal). It's been cool to see them take off the way that they have as legitimate transportation with such a following and time permitting we'd love to offer kits for DIY builders.
as a road bike rider, using a radwagon 4 for commuting, grocery runs, and taking folks on a ride, that seating position causes me mental anguish! and it looks pretty uncool. :D pull up that darn saddle .. you're nor riding a BMX or trail bike.
Agreed, but no matter how you slice it the radrunner is not really a bike that was designed for confortable or efficient pedaling, regardless of the saddle height.
anybody help got 48v controller on my scooter it had 36v one on it goes really slow 5mph its only got 36v battery on it could i do shunt mod to make it faster
Most likely your 48V controller has a low voltage cutoff of like 39V or so, and as a result it's power limited due to low voltage rollback when you run it with a 36V battery pack. You need to make sure you choose a controller with a low voltage cutoff of at least 30V or lower when you want to run it with a 36V battery.
Did you watch it? The last thing we want is to advertise using our stuff being used to modify factory ebikes since usually it's a total support nightmare. But we get asked about it often enough that we wanted to make a detailed video to show what it entails and hopefully discourage people who don't feel up to the task. We have detailed pinouts and user manuals for all the parts that we make which you will find in the associated user manuals. There is no "generic pinout" or schematic for a factory ebike, but luckily ones like this older gen rad runner are straigthforward enough to figure out.
you saying no bandwidth in the disclaimer now is kind of pointless since covid pandemic gave us more bandwidth and in some cases fiber optic to the house. me where i live i have unlimited download (no longer have to be careful how much i download a month no more having to war drive and use others wifi ). and my area is wired for fiber optic as well as my cable co offers fiber optic to the house all thanks to the covid pandemic. i know you folks of grin know what you are doing when it comes to electrical but for those who dont know as much or have as much experience with batteries . be sure to remove the battery from the cradle before cutting the plugs because lithium ion batteries have the capability to dump a massive amount of current and can easily throw sparks and even start a fire is shorted and can potentially be damaged by being shorted. i was wondering what bafang motor does the radwagon 4 use?
Fortunately most BMS circuits will trip a short circuit event well before any risk of fire or cell damage, but usually the arc will still be intense enough to damage your cutting tools. It's not clear if Radpower uses actual bafang motors with the logo removed or one of the many generic clone/copy motors of the G060 that are out there with nearly identical specs and looks.
@@aayala1053 Maybe for you. But I and many others choose other options as long as the old screen is the only option. Does not have to be larger overall but a modern screen will automatically be larger with a smaller frame around.

That is a high severity injury converging on permanent losses (brain) and a secondary risk, brain slosh like jello in a mold. Not good. Localized losses in the opposite lobe from impact point. It is the velocity that most inflatable restraint systems in cars and light trucks are actuated. WEAK A HELMET SON, DONT SQUANDER YOUR BRAIN. YOU ONLY FEEL INFALABLE AND IN-DISTRUCTABLE. The storage box is an option and most people don't pedal this bike so it's OK. And delivery boxes go on the back rack
The CA3 can save totally different settings for batteries, power, speed, PAS or regen
Yes actually we didn't go into it in this video but you'll see it in the next one when we add the torque sensor and setup the handlebar MFSwitch to have several different assist levels. It can just as easily be set for power limits if you are running a throttle only system without PAS.

This gives me the confidence to replace my current controller to maximize my 1500w Ebikeling motor and get some Regen braking.
Great insight to a complicated subject... i think all their motors and controllers should ship with this guy in the box to problem solve 😄
This is an excellent video Justin. Thank you!
Can you guys do more videos like this?
There is a lot of information to process here, thank-you for the weeks of homework. You my friend are exceptional %^)
You have way too much fun with these upgrades :-)
You have described my current e-bike issue completely (Ride1Up brand Core5). Watching this vid now with great interest.
I really like that chest-impaling device that's also serving as a camera mount on the bike. like. That looks like that could be really bad in a crash.
I have also switched out my front fork to dual crown suspension forks.
my planned upgrades is 50amp controller and a 1000w geared motor bafang g062
I will most likely have the highest torque radrunner and have 2 grin v4 torque arms coming today.
I tried to open your link to your website and it says UA-cam can not open this link, might want to look at it, Also anything new coming in new advancements in the electric motors? I see a lot of exciting news in battery technology the future looks very good for ebikes.
The GMAC motor is very advanced. Lightweight hub motor, powerful with regen braking
lol. Are stop signs are optional in Vancouver ?
These are the not so busy backstreets behind our shop, not to worry!
A pedestrian was just killed this week on a walking cycling path in front of my house by an eight year old on a
e-scooter.
FWIW we had a spotter at the intersection to check that it was clear. Unfortunately there weren't any straight stretches nearby long enough to accelerate to full speed at the location we were filming.
Hi can I ask what are the forks on the RadRunner…?
Does pas still work the the frankenrunner? You never showed that. On throttle , it was quite impressive
Yes for sure, the pas now hooks up to the CA3
😍 excellent work bro 😉👍
Thank you I've been looking for this video
What motor upgrade do you recommend for a higher wattage motor on the Radrunner?
It needs to be a wide axle fatbike motor which limits the options. But there are some large direct drive hubs for fatbikes that can be run at much higher power levels. At that point you need a new battery and new controller too, so you'd be replacing everything but the frame.
Your other option is to put on a front hub motor and do 2wd.
Bafang g062 for the radrunner make sure it's the z916 model for direct connection to stock/35amp controller.
Or go with the the controller in the video and get the same motor but with the l1019 connector instead
@@Funermen Won't the g062 be too wide at 175mm? The Radrunner has rear drop outs of 160-165mm. This is the problem I've ran into.
Thanks for nice video. where can i find that controller? Whats it called?

grin makes the cream of ebike parts, the best in the world for sure.
I feel your pain.
Routing cables use shop vacume and suck a peice of string threw the frame then use string to pull wire or as i use peracord then pull the wire or cable you need routed .
Where can I find rad runner plus male battery connector help
Does the G60 bafang have a temperature sensor inside the motor? If not,can the user add a sensor for the cycle analysis to read?
They do not out of the factory no, but you CAN add a thermistor in parallel the the wheel speed sensor signal and have the demux circuitry of our baserunner controllers separate out the speed and temperature data and recreate them for the Cycle Analyst. The process of doing that was a tentatively planned part 4 of this video series.
What are those forks on the rad
Hi, I'm guessing it wasn't possible to pull the new wires through by attaching them to the old wires before removing them?
With foresight that would have been possible, yes.
what kind of motor is in rattan 500w hub motoors and where do i get planetar gears for said ebike
What front forks are those?
I gutted a rebranded polaris/pim have a bunch of your parts, kinda got stuck
What size wheel had tge rad runner and whats the correct settings for the display under wheel settings
The most correct setting is found my measuring the circumference of your particular tire, and inputting that in mm.
Frankenrunner? Damn I'm out of date.
Did you say that was "The most powerful FOC controller you stock"?
Nice small package, looks like it was made to fit that bracket.
I have a rad-mini 4. Where would I buy the Frankenrunner controller?
It's been discontinued. That item was always just a stop-gap motor controller when we couldn't get the Phaserunners produced due to chip shortages during the pandemic.
@@GrinTechnologies So whats the alterantive controller for the rad power bikes?
The Phaserunner
woukd these upgrades also work for a radrunner 3 plus? They changed the battery and the controller and the display I believe. I also think the battery may have gotten some communication pins. I just really like the frame but being able to mod was one of the core reasons for my interest in rad in the first place.
For the display and controller changes it doesn't matter since those are getting swapped out, but if the battery actually needs controller communications in order to turn on then that would be a real bummer.
@@GrinTechnologies Thanks a lot for your answer. Really appreciate it. :)
@@GrinTechnologies this is one of the drawbacks my Aventon Abound presents - it uses 5 conductors from the battery to the controller. It's possible that the Runner 3 only uses two conductors in spite of having more than two connection pins
can I change my wired controller to a higher amp one?
Yes, as long as you accept full responsibility for everything after that. Like if you strip the gears, damage the clutch, overheat the windings, melt the connectors etc. that's totally on you.
How do you know your battery bms can deliver 65A peak?
Either you can test it with a load that draws 65A, or you can find out from the company / supplier of the battery or BMS circuit. But most battery sellers don't really know much, or have nameplate specs on the battery sticker that don't necessarily match BMS cutoff specs. So the only way to know for sure it to actually measure it yourself.
I didn’t get part with setting the circumference in CA. Formula is 2 x pi x R which gives ~140” (3600 mm)🤔
R is different from D.
I've never heard of bicycle wheels or vehicle wheels of any kind defined by their radius
@@GrinTechnologies yes. I got it. Everything went sooo smooth with your video. So happy with my new bike phaserunner brains👍 my riding habbits even changed which ended up in extending the range of my battery. Thank you
Is a 2 pin connector from the controller to battery
Usually most battery to controller connections are 2 pin, yes, and of a moderately heavy gauge wire .
Neither the bearing or clutch cause buzzing noise so replacing those with new ones is neither here nor there.
ok thank
Hi Lucas, have you spoken with our tech support team at info@ebikes.ca?
Try downloading the latest Phaserunner software suite and change the “motor stall timeout” on the main screen (bottom left corner) to 1000ms.
Thank you very much for this informative video. Can you also provide all ordering link of all the connectors, controllers and display of your upgrade you've done on RadRunner? As an example;
A. Connectors:
1. Stock battery connector (3-pin) to L1019 connector.
2. Stock throttle connector to CA3-WP display.
3. Stock brake lever connector (Higo 2pin) to CA3-WP display.
4. Stock front head light connector (Higo 2pin-red color) to CA3-WP display.
5. Rear brake light connector (blue color) to CA3-WP display.
B. Sensor
1. New pedal assist sensor (PAS) that match Frankenrunner controller connector.
2. If stock PAS can be used, please provide link to the connector.
C. Controller - please provide the link.
D. Display - please provide the link.

How do you make e bikes go up hills better?
By delivering more torque to the wheel.
@@GrinTechnologies so please expand upon how that is achieved since so far we have reached the level of my 'O' level in physics!
Do you guys have a controller that will work with a Himiway Cruiser?
In principle yes, but not if you are looking for a plug and play swap. When you switch to a 3rd party controller, you generally need to redo all of your electical wiring connectors and often change out a number of the peripherals too (like the display).
@@GrinTechnologies yes I understand that. Would it be cheaper to buy a kit that comes with everything besides the battery because I already have a 52v 17.5ah aftermarket battery.
Bad idea having that camera mount in front of your chest.
Yoooo have you heard of electric unicycles? i saw your video on the pedal assist unicycle, very cool stuff. EUC's seem up your ally!
Yup. We actually built an euc back in 2009 or so (ie self balancing one wheeled platform that you stand on and can't pedal). It's been cool to see them take off the way that they have as legitimate transportation with such a following and time permitting we'd love to offer kits for DIY builders.

pull up that darn saddle .. you're nor riding a BMX or trail bike.

I have the exact same bike, does anyone know any bike stores in Toronto that would do this for me? I'm not technically advanced
why no pinouts or schematics,or is it just a long advert?!
Very useful information
I think it really makes your legs hurt pedaling while sitting on the passenger seat I think it really needs some motorcycle foot pegs

and my area is wired for fiber optic as well as my cable co offers fiber optic to the house all thanks to the covid pandemic.
i know you folks of grin know what you are doing when it comes to electrical but for those who dont know as much or have as much experience with batteries .
be sure to remove the battery from the cradle before cutting the plugs because lithium ion batteries have the capability to dump a massive amount of current and can easily throw sparks and even start a fire is shorted and can potentially be damaged by being shorted.
i was wondering what bafang motor does the radwagon 4 use?
Fortunately most BMS circuits will trip a short circuit event well before any risk of fire or cell damage, but usually the arc will still be intense enough to damage your cutting tools.
It's not clear if Radpower uses actual bafang motors with the logo removed or one of the many generic clone/copy motors of the G060 that are out there with nearly identical specs and looks.
@@GrinTechnologies i just found out today that rad uses the G060 because it sais so on the clutch assembly
