    @GarageBuiltHondas I finally perfected the hydro clutch conversion! I found a simple way to fit an Ek clutch pedal assembly into my EF Si hatch. I welded in a bracket so the assembly could be bolted in from the top, then I drilled two holes for the master cylinder. Clutch pedal feels exactly the same as a stock eg or ek! And I was able to keep my brake booster! Clearance is terrible but so worth it!
    I actually built a hydro D series swap for my EF. Super rare swap apparently, you pretty much can't find a shift linkage so I took an eg shift linkage and cut it a few inches, then rewelded. I think I'm gonna go around hydro converting EFs so they're a more viable platform for tuners. If I ever wanted to convert an auto chassis to manual, then I've already solved the clutch pedal problem.

      Where did you mount the CMC?

    • @elliswilliams1050
      @elliswilliams1050 2 роки тому +1

      @@GarageBuiltHondas I used this photo as my reference to get the CMC mount holes correct. One of the bolts goes right through the hole where the harness goes, but it works perfectly since the bolt is still supported by the clutch pedal bracket. You'll notice there's about a four inch gap of space where the top of the clutch pedal bracket needs to mount. I just welded some plates in to close the gap and I even drilled a hole through one of the plates so the bracket could be bolted down the same way it does on an eg or ek, honestly this is the sketchy part but it wasn't so bad, I have very basic amateur welding skills and a $100 flux core welder and it worked perfectly!

      Besides the force of the pressure plate, turns out that clutch pedal effort is entirely dictated by your pedal ratio. If you can get the pivot point to sit very close to the actuation point of the master cylinder, it increases your leverage significantly! www.onallcylinders.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/28/IL_16-POD-Brake-Pedal-Ratio.jpg
      I tried so hard to make the EF clutch pedal work but the pivot point and actuation point were too far away. The stock Eg and ek pedals have a pedal ratio around 7:1. My hydro conversion with the reverse mounted master cylinder was giving me a ratio of 3:1 which is a massive difference! Go to your local junkyard and look for a manual ek Chassis. I was able to convince the wrecking yard to give me an Ek clutch pedal assembly for $15 lmao.

      15x8 Buddy Clubs with 205/50 Federal RSRR. Not a very aggressive tire compared to a lot out there but I wanted to try it last year. For the price they are solid especially for someone who's first getting into racing.

    Hey Jon, Looks like a great time, wish they did more stuff like this where I live. And hey, If you are interested in a set of crx specific seat brackets so you can add some good bucket seats to the track car I have a pair, I cannot use them in my hatchbacks. I've had them for many years & never used them, just like that intake manifold I sent out. If you're interested, email me.

    Is the shifter less sloppy then the stock style shifter? And if you didn't have one would you say its definitely worth spending the money? Also do you use the shift lock outs. My car is more for drag racing and crusing.

    13:58 I haven't taken my CRX out to the track (yet) but I know how hard it is to countersteer in a RWD car, just curious, on a scale of 1-10 how hard was the countersteering?

    • @flatwoodzmafia
      @flatwoodzmafia 2 роки тому +2

      I've had to pull a fwd out of oversteer and as long as you're expecting it you'll be fine. Give er some throttle and it'll pull it out unless you're WAY out.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  2 роки тому +2

      Generally you don't countersteer on FWD. I did have a sketchy time years ago on the ice in my 89 accord - going down hill. There was no saving myself from sliding, but I did avoid traffic signs and other crap.
