@@MaXpeedingRods will this bracket fit a 1990 honda accord??
Canada here...nice J... now, while hanging out...you can design different splitters, hang em on the wall, interchangeable...good job, nice to see it go quick n easy, best of all...you did it in your new spot...soooo gooood! One love
Hey! I'm Canadian, too! I have stopped driving my EF in the winter, because I want to protect it from the salt.
You can easily turn this splitter idea into a weigh-plate instead. you Gave me good ideas 👍
Definitely!
great video man!
Slick setup Jon. 👍🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very nice & helpful step by step instructions ☆
An awesome prank would be to leave the big square uncut would on there and do a car meet night somewhere. I couldn't have stopped myself👍 Then I would finish it up the following day lol. Again, great work. Very innovative!
Lol
The splitter came out good just like your hatch.
such a great video. I may use these for a weightplate.
Chuco town Honda's! Good content my man.
Looks good man! Got my shirt and I love it! Many complements on it!
Thanks for the support Nick!
Nice install
Clean work like always! You might have the cleanest og hondas in EP to be honest lol then again i don't get out much either 😆
Looks good.
Perfect!!!💯
Thanks!
Fascinating stuff, Jon! So awesome to see you continuously modding cars that are over 30 years old now. I'm struggling just to keep my EF the same. Some rust has appeared, despite my not driving it in the winter. =(
But 2 days ago, I brought my teal baby back out to play for the warmer months! I love my Soarer, too, but after 6 months of that, getting back into my EF is like heaven! (People will disagree with me, of course, but...) There was never a better car made in the history of cars. Looking forward to a nice, relaxing summer of that EF life! =)
Thats too bad. You should try to tackle thr rust now before it gets out of hand!
@@GarageBuiltHondas I know, Bro. SOOOOO depressing. =(
Or just drive it til it falls apart?
@@GarageBuiltHondas Nooooooo!!! I'm keeping this one for life, man! As soon as I can, I'm going out there with some sandpaper, primer and teal paint! At least that will stop the rust. I just wish body work wasn't such a horrible task. My buddy Greg said he would rather rebuild six motors in a row, than do 1 job of body work. I tend to have the same opinion, even though I can't rebuild an engine yet.
Speaking of which, although the stock motor is still healthy, I have a D16Z6 just sitting on a stand in my front yard, in case my current motor takes a sh*t. haha
That should help. Look for preventative rust maintenance products to use on the affected area.
Funny thing is we just ordered a turbo from MaxpeedingRods. Your spiller came out clean!
Let me know how it does for you!
Yea we are definitely gonna do a review
looks good
Great job nice 👍 ideas 💡
👍
Came across your channel. Finally a Honda channel where average Joe's working on car and tracking it and a budget. 👍👍. Also working a Integra I track. I recently just got a PCI rear spoiler and looking at this route to balance out the car with a front splitter . Did you notice any over heating issues with it installed? Do you need to vent the front area of the hood? And lastly do you have and oiling issue with the splitter installed with the added grip. ( oil moving away from the pick up) .thanks and happy New year.
Thanks, glad you enjoy my content.
I have had zero issues at all. Car felt better than before and hadn't given me any issues since the install. This car in the following video I track more frequently than the crx. ua-cam.com/video/oVZz4Xa4it0/v-deo.html
Just subscribed bro!! But I've been watching and a fan for a minute.. im currently working on my 96 dc2 gsr going through a paint job its gonna be my first time painting anything... so yeah you can already expect what the car is gonna look like lol. Specially when I'm using a budget rustoleum paint job with harbor freight gun.. lol and its the cheapest gun too if I may add the 15.99 one with a bad purple paint job on it itself lmfao! But well see how it comes out I almost quit on the car so many times just frustrations and bad temper with things not going the way they should.. lol but your vidz keep me going showing me to keep wrenching and keep building things take time sometimes so patience is key to having a decent job come out at the end. Keep the video coming bro!!
Stay with it man, be patient and don't let the frustrations get to you. In the end it'll be worth it
Love it
I think I saw ray last week I was driving my crx and he gave me a thumbs up and I thought to myself he looks familiar 🤣
Nice!
Came out great man 👍 fab up some PCI lookin skirts and it would look so beefy
I want to man. Trying to keep this car a really decent budget build!
Yeah I agree aluminum would be lighter and most definitely better for crash protection
Nice !
You think about using black ABS? You can get a 24"x48" sheet from Home Depot for less than $20. Probably not as durable, but much lighter.
People don't use plastic when building functional spliters as it bends too much due to wind and flexes a lot more and doesn't really do anything.
@@Th3yk1lledkenny gotcha
This was serious until the rock out fridge magnet 😂. Nice work as always man. Looking forward to coming back out there when things get back to normal.
Lol😁 it'd be cool to have you visit again
This crx will be a good contender at asr 👍👍
Hoping it stays solid and my dad keeps killing time. 👍
I like the fact that it's easy to remove should you need to put your car on the trailer I don't like how they hang down past the bottom of the bumper cover when it is off because that's also something that you could hit or catch on your trailer loading your car it'd be better if they were up a little tighter to the car
Dont forget the strips of cutting board material on the bottom which will protect it from inevitable scrapes.
👍
Oh one more thing.. where are you guys from???
Can you post the part number for the lawn edging? I checked on homedepot.ca (in Canada here) and i cant find it. If not ill just use my spare front lip as the air dam.
Its called Vigoro. Go to 1:35 of this video to see it up close. ua-cam.com/video/oVZz4Xa4it0/v-deo.html
Looks badass when do u start racing again
Looks like June 6th we'll have a track day. I'll be able to get some footage of this and hopefully my friends EG coupe.
Can you show us how to make a diy diffuser and flat floor?
I haven't done neither so far, sorry. If I do I would definitely create some videos. Maybe one day
What size plywood did u start with? Thx
1/2" ua-cam.com/video/oVZz4Xa4it0/v-deo.html
With the splitter and wing, will it shaved 1 second?
It can help. Creating downforce can help the cars handling capabilities.
Did you feel a difference on your white hatch with the front splitter and big Wang?
On one of his videos he talked about having beat his record and setting a record at the track after the install
I'm thinking it helped as I set the record in a certain direction and beat my fastest time. ua-cam.com/video/P_TcIsEsP0k/v-deo.html
@@GarageBuiltHondas fuck yeah man nice.... I have to find another EF hatch, it was stolen :(
That's crappy to hear. I'd shoot someone if I caught them. 😐
@@GarageBuiltHondas update.. they found it... I think they thought it was swapped but since it wasn't they broke all my windows... I'll have another EF someday... My new to me fiesta St is fun enough for now. Still relatively small and turbo
Just ordered some shirts..
Excellent!!
Chassis mounted spoiler?
Find out next week??
@@GarageBuiltHondas Nice
this could turn into a bit of a skid plate for protecting the oil pan if made out of metal... it will add weight but on a crx it should not be that bad!
nice clean work jon.. keep the content coming :) until next week!!! 88_89_crx
Bro do you sell those splitters?? 😅
I don't, sorry.
Hey john! Where can i find you on fb so i can messenger you lol
No face homie. Just here and Instagram. *No Facebook I mean*. Lol
Se ve feo loco!
I watched your video from last year and built my splitter over winter. I did it a little differently than your but turned out fantastic but took significantly longer to build. The only problem so far was a riv nut coming out from the wheel air deflector but I epoxied it back in. imgur.com/gallery/KV3cPvC
Nice, looks solid!
You being wait conscious have weighed that splitter kit
The other video I did. I can't remember how much it weighed though.
What the fuck. I don't plan on going to Home Depot to upgrade my car. But then again it is a Honda
All that stuff just looks very heavy, especially where all your weight already is. Just doesn't make sense to me.
It weighs like 20lbs. The downforce splitters can create will beneficially outweigh the added lbs. Or you could lay off the bread/cheese/fries and lose some weight where it really counts. Haha
Lol. Ruins the crx look too me. Too tacky
That's cool man. It's not for everyone. If you've ever raced on a road course you might change your mind a little if you're trying to get a little faster. I definite don't want my y49 with all those stuff on it. I like both looks, but it really depends on usage. 👍
