Not to diss on all your hard work, but this goes back alot further back than many people realize. The Kyivan Rus is considered by many Eastern European countries (including Russia) to be their cultural ancestor. Furthermore the Russian empire from 1721-1917 controlled most of Ukraine (remember how Germany and Austria-Hungary shared a border with Russia before WW1). After that point the communists took over, they pulled out of the war, lost a bunch of land to the Germans and austrian-hungarians and when the war was over border states between Russia and the other European nations were created like Poland and Romania. And although Ukraine gained independence shortly after WW1, they were incorporated back into the USSR until finally in 1991 the USSR collapsed. So while yes your statement is technically true, it barely manages to scratch the surface. Still I love watching your videos anyways.
Fair point, but I think Douglas Adams said it best: In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

On talks of Russia, I feel so bad for the citizens. Russian artists who work as freelancers are losing their ability to make money or to even take out the money they have in PayPal because of the economy getting shut down. Putin not caring about the citizens of Ukraine is horrible enough. Endangering and threatening his own people through threats of time in prison if they speak out against the government, send support to Ukraine, or even use social media in any way that could be seen as "suspicious" is going an extra step further. It's not surprising coming from him, but I think we should still consider what Russian citizens are going through, both from their own country and the other's. The fact that some people still think he took a gun across state lines shows how much folks actually watched the trial...
@@jasperavelis9678 not exactly. It showed how much the system really works. He didn't live in that state, therefore whether it was 5 miles or 5 minutes. No one asked him to protect anything. He knew what it was and wanted to catch some bodies.
@@kimberlynroberts7059 he basically lived in Kenosha because his dad and most of his dad's side of the family lived the there
Also are you really defending the kiddy diddler, skater boy with 3 counts of battery and a convicted felon. If you watch Brandon Herreras video on the whole trial maybe it would make sense to you
Simple correction if you are a resident of WI and buy a weapon in WI technically you are not crossing state lines because you have not left the state.
I may not agree with Bens political party but man he’s funny
This! ^^^
thanks so much ben, i needed this so bad... i was so confused on why cause NOBODY was saying anything... this means alot and now i got some youtube vids too watch :). thanks for the content and the info again
The Russia/Ukraine War started when Ukraine broke their treaty by making nuclear stuff when the treaty said that they couldn't
Can't wait to see you next Tuesday
This is really great! Though, you definitely need to fact check your reference to a certain situation in Wisconsin from last year. That’s not what happened at all.
Thanks for doing this for the younger kids so they can understand better
Hi California love u
There are a lot of things I appreciate about this sketch. I like how you did your background on this one. It was very tasteful.
Слава Україні! Slava Ukraini! Glory to Ukraine!
If your joke was about Kyle Rittenhouse the gun never crossed state lines and he was there as a medic, he did have the gun though because the riats that had been going on for like three days at that point had turned violent multiple times and if your saying why a rifle well he was to young for a hand gun and (this part is speculation) wanted the most effective tool for detering someone from attacking him or stopping them if they did.
A repentant Loui sans beads……nice touch lol
So what about the president of Ukraine having 3 television stations shut down for disagreeing with him and the fact the guy who ran against him in there election arrested
Waitin for the one where part of florida is burnin. We got a forest fire up here in the panhandle that’s up to 1400 acres and is the 7th fire in a week
I'm sorry I know how scary it is, being from SOCAL and having had way too many close calls.
@@LeeStJohn-ym4df ya it’s gotten bad and good since I posted that. The 1400 one is almost out now but a larger one started and is currently at 33000 acres
Doctors Without Borders is an organisation of doctors, surgeons, and other medical professionals that are currently helping Ukrainian refugees, wounded civilians, and soldiers. Donate to them, they're a great charity. ❤️
Yes they are!
Great sketch Ben!!! Too bad that it's such a sad and frankly scary topic.SLAVA UKRAINE!
2 years later and it's still going on
Wait....we're using the New York City flag for New York State? I know our state flag is boring...but you know...
This was the best recitation of the New Orleans motto that I've heard yet!
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL 😂
I really needed this lol, good video.
“I’m sadder now” 😂
Pray for Ukraine 🇺🇦😢❤️
we talked about this in my history class but this is the most its made sense to me.
funny and informative! I had no idea why this was happening so thanks for the update!
Mass not being in this video is very disappointing because I thought anywhere there's a war Mass was supposed to be there
If the 2020s have taught me anything is that you don’t mess with these three things.
1) Mother Nature
2) mother bears
3) Mother f’n Ukrainians!
Oh this was good!
2:39 easily the most entertaining trial I've ever seen.
yea fiction is always fun
@@Ravenlord47111 was it not real?
@@grandadmiralthrawn8116 The "across state lines" part is the fiction some people made up and ran with it. Kid got the gun in state which isn't illegal, and was well within his rights at every turn. Even was retreating at every opportunity even tho doesn't even have duty to retreat laws making him.
@@grandadmiralthrawn8116 no it was most certainly real
The self defense thing is probably about russia's economy. They've been exporting oil to most of europé for a while but ukraine has quite alot of oil too. They just couldn't extract it until recently. That and ukraine has been getting friendlier with NATO
Friendlier, yes...but never officially a friend.
They got the friend-level version of Friend-zoned. :P
One of the best ones yet ❤️
BROOOOO THE TRIBE CALLED QUEST SHOUTOUT WAS FIRE I LOVE YOU
"Yea" and i quote: "dude"
This was helpful to me and probably a lot of others, thankyou for talking about it in an easy to understand way!
As a Hungarian I’m inclined to tell you that you pronounced Budapest wrong. It’s Buda-peSHt.
Köszi!! 🇭🇺
Talk about the dont say gay bill
California really decided to call out Rittenhouse like that..
Especially getting all the facts wrong in 1 sentence
Dude yeah
Yeah dude
Louisiana's drunk RN
Holy crap, didn't expect Minnesota to be here. (I'm from MN)
MASH was able to make war funny with out diminishing its tragedy
Next state to join the table needs to be Missouri
California needs a friend pls help him find a friend
For anyone wondering, Louisiana said “Let the good times roll!”
If the next video doesn’t include Florida literally on fire I’m gonna be so sad
I know. The panhandle is going through a scary time. I live in SOCAL and have been threatened by wildfires more times than I can count. I wish them well!
Just out of curiosity, for a normal weekly sketch, roughly how much do you record, compared to the final, edited episode? Minutes, gigs of data, number of takes estimate(s)? Your stuff is always so good!!
Before Ben moved to California he used to do his entire recording as a live on TikTok and then edit it, and it would sometimes take a few hours
Very, very well explained!
Kyle didnt cross state lines with a gun, kid lived in Kenosha with his father.
That Kenosha reference was golden.
And here we are 6 months later with no real end in sight.
