Installing The Ailerons On The Free Abandoned Airplane !

- Опубліковано 3 лис 2023
- SOO much happening in todays episode! First we will be uninstalling the Ailerons from the original 401 wings so that we can strip, prime, and install the refurbished control surfaces onto the 402 wings we attached to the Phoenix a few months ago. Erick from the AOPA is stopping by with the newly restored 1953 Cessna 170B for AOPA's sweepstakes and taking us up for a flight to check out this beautiful aircraft. Joe gets a ton of work done on our Piper 160, and we also head over to the shop to continue our progress on the giveaway Austin Healey.
Check out the AOPA sweeps plane here!

I’ve been watching since Day 1. Always a joy to see another piece go back on the 401. Hopefully you’ll have a time lapse of the assembly once it’s complete.
That's a cool idea! Thank you Brother for watching and supporting!
I can't believe I have been following this project for the past two years. But every Saturday morning, I'm here for 401 Awesomeness. Waiting on the the avionics, I'm sure it will be cutting edge. Cheers guys!
Hey Brother! Thank you for stopping by and showing us so much support! It is so awesome getting to talk to you all every Saturday!👍🏻
Right? It doesn't feel like it's been that long
Nice, I been hear before all this started before ther the 401 before the Austin and I liked it then, but I gues im gona continue although I don't always agree with there decisions. The Austin is getting along nicely.
Me too. Started about 3 episodes into the 401 project. I'm not an aviation guy but I can't miss an episode. They know how to make a good show! Love this is going to help veterans!
Yup same way
I have watched this from the beginning - I'll watch all of them. I so relate to this.
Been watching since day 1. can't wait for the 401 to finally be completed and take off after all those years of being abandoned.
and I want the Austin. Would be a cool first car
I'm proud that I was able to help restore the Phoenix in a very small way, wish I could have done more. That Austin is going to make one sweet ride for a lucky someone!
Donald, the Rescue Crew is the most important part of the channel, and we wouldn't be here without the positivity and encouragement you all show us!
I remember when the 401 was just a bird's nest! I know it would have only been parts if the Rebuild Rescue crew hadn't stepped in. Great work guys! And... I want the Austin!
Kevin, you have no idea how much day one supporters mean to us here. It was hard for people to believe in us, so you being here means so much more. Thank you for everything & good luck on the giveaway!!
@@rebuildrescue Watching the 401 has gotten me through some really rough times because I broke my legs and collar bone shortly before you did! Watching you get back up and keep going has inspired a lot of people to do the same, including myself!
Isn’t there a way to use some type of plastic caps or something to prevent birds from building nests inside wings?
I can’t wait to see the project completed
@@rebuildrescuebeen here sience episode 4 came out yea birds nest
Every time I watch I am constantly amazed by the attention to detail.
Love the top for the Austin! I want the Austin! Thanks for all the work you've done on it! Great job! Glad you didn't crash with no brakes.
Inch by inch... Centimeter by centimeter... Each step takes you closer to the finish line. She's coming together nicely. Jason, you have inspired me, I located myself another free airplane and have arranged to pick her up in a week.
That's awesome Shawn! Keep us updated, and thank you for being apart of the Rescue Crew!
Love to see it
Need to do a full circle view around the 401, as well as some memorable vids to see how far you guys have progressed!!!
I love your diligence on the Austin-Healey. It's the little things that count when you're working on something so small.
One piece at a time, one day at a time, she's coming along quite nice. Nothing ventured, noting gained. I want the Austin!
She’s gettin close! It’s going to be interior time before we know it. Thank guys for the greatness!
Thank you for keeping the faith! Can't wait for the day she flys!!
This Cessna 170 is a such beautiful airplane.... it looks so nice and clean. It's really amazing
I watch just about every rebuild rescue and I somehow missed this episode. Glad I found it. :) That Austin Healey is going to be a sweet ride.
Most excellent work going into that 401, definitely the extra mile needed to get this bird back in the air. I want the Austin!
Loved seeing multiple project updates this episode! It was fun to go from one project to the next with each of them at different stages of refurbishing. Thanks for the tireless work you put into this channel, allowing us to be a part of it from afar! The Austin is looking great by the way!
I just love watching your videos. I’m a retired airline pilot and I have an A/P. These videos are great and can’t wait to see the final results. So much love has gone into your work. Keep them coming
I want the Austin. Ailerons were always such fun to install... especially when they were the size of a long-bed truck!! (C-5s).
1 small step for mankind, 1 giant leap for the 401. I want to see Joes Big Teeth ! I want the Austin ! God bless. Great Video work
Looks more like a plane every pod cast!! Well done guys!! The work you will do in helping vets and such will make ALL OF THIS worthwhile!!!
I watch this and I am a vet. How is this helping us if I may ask?
Wow! What a great episode, it's so full of new adventures. I started watching from the 2nd episode and then watched the 1st. You've been there for me during my cancer surgery and after each week of chemo. So thank you! The Austin is just like the one I had back in the Army. So, YES, I WANT THAT AUSTIN. 😊😅

I want the Austin! Jason I’ve commented and said this before but you are a super humble dude and it is apparent that you truly care for people. Your employees friends and family are lucky to have you. Keep up your awesome work!
Love seeing the 401 come back to life. I want the Austin.
Piece by piece, it's finally starting to come together. Nice to see the ailerons back on.
Nunca tinha visto a reforma total de um avião como do 411, parabéns pelo canal, Deus abençoe sempre você e sua família, Rogério do Brasil, e eu quero o Austin.
401 for the win! Cant wait to see it complete and in service, the charitable aspect is an awesome concept.
I enjoy all your videos on your various rescues over the past few years. I'm excited to see the 401 take to the air. Always entertaining. And of course, I want the Austin!
Love seeing the progress every week and cant wait to see the 401 fly again! Also. I want the Austin.
You guys are getting a lot done in this video. Nice work! It's super exciting.
Love the epoxy floor in the shop where you are working on the Austin. The blue looks cool. I did a similar countertop.
Keep up the great work! I'm not sure I fit, but I want the Austin!
Thank you for always showing your support Brother!
It's all coming together! Closer and closer yet! I want the Austin..
It never ceases to amaze what damage birds can do and where they can go!
I've been watching each video since day 1 and always give a thumbs up! Your dedication to this project is amazing! You chased all the doubters away! They are all silent now! Great video today too!
We really appreciate that! It has been a crazy journey but with all the support from you all the dream is becoming reality👍🏻❤️

For Goodness Sake it's not an Austin, It's an Austin Healey (hence the AH on the hub caps) and it's known as an Austin Healey Sprite. Donald Healey was well known in the U.K. for his engineering prowess and probably his last project was with Jensen cars the Jensen-Healey ,also well known in the U.S.A.
Hmmmmm... We Never Would Have Known...😶🧂
I am amazed at the difference in the 401 from where you guys started. I also love that you guys don’t cut corners and anyone would be proud to fly in her.
Its great to see someone local.
Thanks joe and jason
Man that little kit fox is gonna be so cool. Kit foxs is my dream plane
Yay for Joe can't wait to see that smile and pearly whites
Wow! You went whole hog and put on the chrome plated door seal covers. A rare upgrade. ;) And then you experienced the soothing smell of paint stripper. What a guy! :)
The commitment to go the extra mile, for the 401 and the Austin, (for ALL RR projects) clearly shows the passion the RR Teams has for rebuilds! WELL DONE!!!
I want the Austin! =)
I'd like the Austin!! The Phoenix looks more like a new plane each time.
This channel inspired me to start flight training. Keep up the excellent variety and the 401 is amazing. I want the Austin.
I want the Austin!
The 401 is finally coming together. I can't wait to see her finished.
I did not even know I loved airplanes until I found this channel. Been here since the beginning of the 401 journey. I want the Austin!
Love your projects looking forward to seeing more from y’all and I’d love to get that Austin!😊
This is the only channel that I have subscribed to AND followed continuously. I started following right at the very start of the 401, when it was sitting out on the runway unloved and unwanted. Before Jason had contacted it's owner.
Who would have believed, over 2 years ago, that we would be at this stage with a plane that was destined to never fly again. Here we are with it well on the way to a new life in the air!
Guys, you're doing amazing, keep it going.
P.S. I WANT THE AUSTIN.
I sure love this project. I hope when you guy finish the 40. You guys start another cool one. Keep up the great work.
Every time I see a video on the 401 it’s like waking up on christmas morning! Absolutely love your videos! I WANT THE AUSTIN!!

The Austin Healey is looking great! Thank you for saving it! I want the Austin!
Wow! You made a lot of progress on several fronts. I’m glad to see the Austin got new brakes because I want it to be safe when I drive it.
Watching these videos is helping me stay motivated to keep building my Zenith. I want the Austin, too.
One step closer to being done. Can't wait to see it done.

What a mission of LOVE you have taken on and that is what makes this so very special. Proud to be a supporter of you, the team, and of course, the 401!
Greg

This has been an amazing journey for the 401. I want the Austin
"I want the Austin" Hi gang. My interest in flying goes back to the 1960's where my Dad used to take me and my brother up for spins and we were thrilled. At 91 Dad still holds his pilot license, but health has grounded him. I started-stopped lessons in the early 70's in a Piper J-3 but gas money switched to date money... never finished. I've been keeping up with your progress from the start and loving every posting. Thanks for all you are doing!!
Got a reply from @MrRebuildRescue... is this a legit response?
Love your work ethic and willingness to just do things well. Keep it up!
Another great vid. Good to see the Austin again. Love the Austin, I want the Austin. Great little machine. How good was that Cesna, it didn't look or perform like it was 70 years old! Just love old planes!
Been following the 401 rebuild since the beginning. Huge project and interesting to learn about airplane construction and repair. Thanks!
The 401 is the gift that keeps crapping on you Jason. Keep it up and someday you will have empty nest syndrome. And not to forget ..... I want the Austin!
