You can always trust Italian designers to come up with machines tht look like they're doing 100 mph even when they are on the ground. This machine looks gorgeous. A BRS won't land you smoothly but it will land you alive even if the aircraft needs a total rebuild after using it.

PLEASE enough with the talking brochure. People who watch these are interested in performance and specifications, NOT listening to agonizing salespitches. It's a nice plane but the Risen 915isv blows it out of the sky in every category (cruise speed, rate of climb, fuel burn, over double the range at 2900km etc..), with a huge, comfortable 48+ inch wide side by side cockpit.

Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) has a legal definition in the United States.
An aircraft must meet the definition of light-sport aircraft (LSA) before the certification process can begin. If it meets the definition, it must then be manufactured to the applicable standard.
There are five categories of LSA's: airplanes, gliders, powered parachutes, weight-shift-control aircraft (commonly called trikes), and lighter-than-air aircraft (balloons and airships).
There are three types of aircraft that are excluded from the LSA category. They are gyroplane aircraft, transitioning ultralight-like vehicles, and light-sport kit aircraft. These aircraft receive an experimental LSA certification.
Definition. As defined in FAR 1.1, a light-sport aircraft is an aircraft other than a helicopter or powered-lift that since its original certification has continued to meet the following:
    - A maximum takeoff weight of not more than 660 pounds (300 kilograms) for lighter-than-air aircraft; 1,320 pounds (600 kilograms) for aircraft not intended for operation on water; or 1,430 pounds (650 kilograms) for aircraft intended for operation on water.
    - A maximum airspeed in level flight with maximum continuous power (VH) of not more than 120 knots calibrated airspeed under standard atmospheric conditions at sea level.
    - A maximum never-exceed speed (VNE) of not more than 120 knots calibrated airspeed for a glider.
    - A maximum stalling speed or minimum steady flight speed without the use of lift-enhancing devices (VS1) of not more than 45 knots calibrated airspeed at the aircraft’s maximum certificated takeoff weight and most critical CG.
    - A maximum seating capacity of no more than two persons, including the pilot.
    - A single, reciprocating engine, if powered.
    - A fixed or ground-adjustable propeller, if a powered aircraft other than a powered glider.
    - A fixed or auto-feathering propeller system, if a powered glider.
    - A fixed-pitch, semi-rigid, teetering, two-blade rotor system, if a gyroplane.
    - A nonpressurized cabin, if equipped with a cabin.
    - Fixed landing gear, except for an aircraft intended for operation on water or a glider.
    - Fixed or repositionable landing gear, or a hull, for an aircraft intended for operation on water.
    - Fixed or retractable landing gear for a glider.

Agree, this one got my eye because of the looks haha. Was interesting to research the design. Fuselage seems very versatile, not surprised that Blackshape isn't the only one utilising Juseppes design.

    • @shockwavegaming1376
      @shockwavegaming1376 10 місяців тому +3

@kelvinleigh The first yellow flag was the average g tolerances. If flown carefully, +4/-2 is adequate, but in a plane capable of 200mph flight a +6/-4 g rating would be safer. This not only makes maneuvering safer, but makes a plane safer in turbulence. The speed was another average stat. 200mph is not slow, but it's not truly fast either. For that kind of money, I would expect a speed of 250-400mph to be competitive. The range could be improved too. While 500mi is not bad, it's still short legs for cross country flying. If the range was pushed up to 750-1000mi by increasing the speed, the fuel capacity, or both, then it would stand out a little bit more. I know all those specs might be asking too much of an LSA, but my disappointment in the plane was not based on its classification, but it's cost to performance ratio. For an LSA, it's just ok. For the price, its average performance is not worth that much of my hard earned money. This is only my opinion so take it with a grain of salt and hopefully not everyone shares my opinion. I'm sure the people who designed and built the plane love it and did the best they could on it, so for that, they have my respect.

Well? I think there's an American version of this? Designed in Association. With one of the guys from Piper Aircraft. I forget the name of his company? But these planes have similar designs. It must be some new computer, designing algorithm? And were offered as kits. For around $60,000. With I think a 500 hp engine? Was it a Continental or Lycoming? I forget? Continental I think? And was said to be very quick and sports car lights.
So these seem to be getting popular for the, entry-level jet set. Without jets, yet. I suppose that's also coming? Others have canards. From Rutan.
I don't fly anymore since brain surgery nearly 19 years ago. That was the end of that. I loved to fly. But I never actually acquired a pilots license. I was only a student pilot. 54 years ago. So it's been a while. And I didn't qualified to do that for the US military. So I never enlisted. Even though I wanted to. I couldn't get the job I wanted. So they didn't get a good pilot.. I found out later I was better than I thought I was.
Yes that's true. I was able to step into an actual Military Boeing/Lockheed, F-22 Raptor Simulator. And give it a try. The Boeing guy and 5 other US Military Fighter Pilots. Wanted to know if I've been flying F-14's, 15's or 60s? I said no. Never. I've never tried anything like this before. This is a first time for me. They asked me why I didn't join the Air Force? I told him I tried when I was 18. I didn't qualify. They told me I missed my calling. I said no I didn't. The U.S. Air Force missed a good pilot. They agreed with me. We all shook hands and they went on their way. I was truly dumbfounded. I hadn't realized what I had just accomplished. Without any training. How was that possible? I don't quite know how I did that? They told me I was a natural. I never had the opportunity to be natural. The Air Force never found out. I was already nearly 45 by then. And I hadn't flown an aircraft in nearly 32 years. I don't quite know how I did it? It all just instantly made sense to me. It was definitely an exhilarating thrill. The greatest ever and to date.
The following year I got to try the Northrop Grumman, A-10, Work hard Simulator. The real deal. And I found that harder to fly. It was all manual. All hydraulic control with forced feedback on the stick. I didn't think you could stall that aircraft? I almost did. I wasn't very good with that. It was quite a big challenge. I found more than the F-22 the year before. As a total rank amateur nonmilitary person. From a different perspective.
It was indeed my honor. To try out those military simulators. What a thrill. No Microsoft flight simulator for me! All I have is a toy joystick! What are you supposed to do with that? It's a toy! Those real cockpits just ruined me. How am I supposed to play with toys now? I mean oh my God. I was in the actual cockpits. I was flying those machines. On a $12 million and $4 million simulator. Talk about take your breath away? Oh my God!
I can imagine what it was like making Top Gun Maverick for the actors? How many airsickness bags did they go through? I'm sure, plenty. Those were not simulators. They did not use computer graphics. Nor animation. Those are real scenes. That's what crazy Tom Cruise wanted. Tom Cruise got. When you're wealthy. They let you grab anywhere. Even F-18's. You can rent. By the minute. It's thousands of dollars per minute. They use a lot of gas. Turbine engines are expensive, to repair. But he had the contract. To have Big Fun. Making Big Money. What a lucky duck!
And all because he danced in his underwear when he was younger.

Absolutely! 😃 While awaiting an update of ULA regulations in the US, we're excited to announce that our Gabriél model is about to obtain FAA certification (hopefully by end of 2023 🤞) and is already available in the US market through our local dealers. If you're interested in experiencing the Gabriél firsthand or have any questions about its availability and features, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. 🙂 Happy landings!

From the off center front pic looking down the fuselage it looked like a spitfire

Quite good looking plane but the surprising 'failure' is that the side by side seating Sea Avio Risen substantially outperforms it.

Also what is with his pronunciation of certain words? Like... really wrong, to the point I wasn't sure I knew what word he was even trying for.

Kinda had that spitfire inspired look to it, not sure if there is another fighter it was designed around but I do like it. Something I would definitely fly!!!

Going bust very soon at that price, nobody spends that much and suffer the restrictions of LSA.

So, Blackshape took someone else’s work and put snazzy seats in it? No bags? No room? A 115hp fighter huh? LSA? $200-300K--No thank you. Hard Pass!

Far from a fighter. Civilian pilots can only dream.

Tandem seating makes sense but it's just a devastating fact that the side by side Risen is significantly faster with the same engine. It speaks to how particular aerodynamics is. The simple drop shape of the Risen is just better. Wing shape could matter too

I think that the sudden rise of the fuselage bottom, right after the wing, is an important contributor to total drag.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, @Walterwaltraud - Please be informed that Blackshape has had no involvement in such matters, and any past concerns were promptly dismissed due to a lack of substantiated evidence. We want to emphasize that Blackshape is now under new management, which took over a few months ago, and we remain open to discussing any concerns or inquiries you may have.

yeah, looks a lot like legend, but i don't think it was an intentional copy. Asso Aerei (the original design, as I told in the video), was Italian kit manufacturer, with lots of models inspired by european fighters of that time.
