Actually, , I learn blender because of this guy, the first vfx tutorial i watched is one -point tracking of fire hands with his wife ,the nodes and mask and everything were amazing ,that was the turning point for me to learn vfx. Thank you so much.
Love the plug! Thanks for updating this tutorial. The interface, among other activities has kept me from getting back into Blender. This is insprational for me.
Thanks for the tutorial. The default shadow catcher doesnt work with EEVEE but there are ways to create one if miners bought all the RTX 3080 Ti's before you could get one, or you dont wanna wait days for a render.
Great tutorial -- been looking to really understand tracking for a while now. The only issue I'm running into right now is my camera/origin seem to be off by a factor of a 1000. Very likely some scaling issue, but otherwise -- very cool.
Magnificent tutorial, such efficient use of time, congratulations! If only Blender could remove the red & green axis lines from the Viewport view without removing the movie, we could all use Viewport Render and go home early... sigh...
If you guys are getting "Need atleast 8 markers" issue and you have the right A and B keyframes and atleast 8 markers, the issue might be because of your Start Frame. Instead of setting it to something else, just keep it at the default 1, and adjust your timeline's start and end frames.
Extremely helpful. I feel it works about as well as After Effects, and you dont have to leave Blender. Im a little confused the Sensor width focal length. I could not get that number down.
Everybody shows how to do the most simple of tracks, but not one youtuber has yet dared to tackle someone walking forward and then around a corner, or walking forward for a bit and then doing a 180 degree turn and then walking in the opposite direction some more.
is it possible to render the object as png without the video as background? ive turned on the transparent mode in render menu and turned down the opacity of the video background in the cam setting but the final render still includes the background. i really need to have the object as a seperate video for compositing..
Can you please make a vfx video tutorial on the old vfx projects because they are outdated, including lightsaber, superspeed and more please. there are barely any other tutorials
i want to ask you what is pixel aspect and how can i find my sensor width because i search this width for my camera sony a6500 but the site said 23.5x15.6mm so what is the actual number ?
would be great if the examle wouldn't be so simple :D I'm having way more complex scene with moving objects and now I don't know which buttons to press haha. Also waaaay less points are detected.
Hi, please help me, actually when I render my camera tracking video, the background video is not rendering but the the objects are only rendering without any background video
very cool lesson, thanks. But I ran into one problem in blender, AE works better with this, namely finding the "floor". In my blender, he puts it so crookedly, no matter what points I try to select)
sir if we are using mobile phone footage how to set the sensor width and focal lenght if that phones sesnor width size is not available on google....please help me out im stuck in that point
I did all what you did , but when i render ( with cycles and transparent film activated ) it only renders the basic footage without all the 3D stuff i made. So yea i've spent 4 hours making 3D stuff inside my real life footage all of that to finish with a render of my basic footage, with absolutely nothing in it ....
So i wanted to add an explosion i made to a video ,watched this video ,copied every instruction to a t and then right at the end he skips over how to add the object/animation to the scene ? Now im stuck with a big cube in my scene . Does anyone know how i can add the explosion i made ?
When I try and render, it doesn't render the shadows, and will only render shadows if the ground is visible, does anyone know how to fix this? I followed the tutorial legit step by step. And yes, I am using cycles
I'm constantly searching for what to make an input value for camera sensor length and focal length for footage I shot on Iphone 12 pro max. I searched god damn everywhere on the internet... there is not a single video / information for solving my issue... If anyone can help... please reply back....
Do the parts you are tracking stay visible on screen the whole time? Could be they have too high an error rate or you set the clean to remove tracks with too low of an error rate?
@@enforcerdino6790 normally if it only tracks a little bit and stops, that normally means it lost the track. You can either manually place it back and track again, or select a new area to track.
This tutorial skips some very important steps. I tracked and solved camera, set up a scene and tried to render. It renders just the video without added object. Couldn't find a way around it.
The tracking in Blender is incredible, but the current implementation of orientation of the scene is god-awful, so I do the orientation with the camera manually as well.
6 minute tutorial that's better than most 20+ minute tutorials, thanks
So simple... Previous movie that I learn was more that 1 hour and I don't understand nothing. Man, you are the best. Really.
Thanks John!

Can you do the laser eyes again
Good suggestion! I've had some requests on that. Thanks!
Thank you so much for such a great tutorial, I was struggling with motion/camera tracking, your video is GAME CHANGER !
You're very welcome! Glad it was helpful! :)
One thing you can do is make a duplicate of video with more contrast for camera tracking.
why does the floor thing say error: three markers must be in a bundle?
you can only select three markers and set them to ground
When I try and render, it doesn't render the shadows, and will only render shadows if the ground is visible, does anyone know how to fix this? I followed the tutorial legit step by step. And yes, I am using cycles
Same. I believe blender 3.0 shadow catcher doesn’t work like the old. I think I’ll have to create a shader to catch shadows.
how can i turn the camera motion into an animation? so i could export that
How do I watch the render????
Bro its awesome but your track is sliding a little bit.
thanks for watching! :)
5:01 to 5:02 how to go into camera? View
Number pad 0
At least 8 common tracks on both keyframes are needed for reconstruction
Change the keyframe A and B to match the start and end frames of your project

Hmmmm, when I use clean tracks and scrub through the frames they eventually all get deleted, what could be causing this?
yes, the whole explanation is not in this video--I need step by step--and there are bits and pieces missing or else not clearly explained.
How do we know the focal length and sensor width of a free stock footage? 😭
How do you render shadows?
0:39 Does it have to be a sequence of images, let's put a video instead ?
This is a great tutorial, but when i do the clean tracks it also erases the good ones :S Im doing this on a drone footage fyi
Do the parts you are tracking stay visible on screen the whole time? Could be they have too high an error rate or you set the clean to remove tracks with too low of an error rate?
when i pressed ctrl t it does not work i wonder why
Hmm try "command" if you're on a mac? Otherwise the manual track forward button is on the left hand panel. I probably should've pointed that out...
@@KenanProffitt Now when i press ctrl t it only moves forward for a little bit
