Nice! Next up syncing drone footage with a sample arch project... and "blending" virtual model edges with the physical footage. Would be neat to see that workflow. Keep up the great content and keep on learning!
well its the same thing, bring the footage into AE, solve for camera, as here - to max, render and overlay in a NLE. The trick to blending is (1) matching lighting and (2) a 98% opacity on the top composite layer. Bear in mind motion blur will equally blend edges.. Also bear in mind the footage needs to 'blank' the terrain first - this can be done in max but you have to be critical of shadows to get a decent blend.
great video. thank you so much. I tried Camera tracking by doing it in blender. you can't actually import camera motion from blender, but you can link an object to that camera, bake animation, bring object to max and link your camera to the object. that's not bad as well. but this method certainly looks easier.
Hi ! Could you explain how you aligned the grid at 4:43 to the road? I tried researching but "Align Grid to view" from Tools seem to be greyed out in my scene.
DAMN if this isn't the exact thing I've been looking for!!! question - why return it to AE when you can composite direct in max? anyhoo, ace vid, cheers
@@jakedenham i bind a bg plane to the camera and map the original jpeg sequence with some self-illumination to that. Essentially rendering the viewport background.

Hi Jake, when I try to import the null objects from AE to 3ds max it imports them but they don't stay in position when I press play. Can you tell what my mistake was? Nice video though.
@@jakedenham Yes, but I meant the part which you show at 6:07 in the video. I tried again with another footage and it's even worse. this time there is only one Null imported and it is in the middle of the grid. It moves with the grid and not staying on the road. Maybe I do something wrong in AE.
After i followed all steps, and rendered some of frames as png. once I import them to AE over the footage and play everything goes off trackingm but in 3ds max in viewport it looks good. I have no idea whats wrong
@@jakedenham yes they are same but still I do not know whats the problem. I have done another tracking with another footage and now it works ( but on this time I tried to align the null to the center of viewport )
Is there a script like this but for Maya? I am currently using Boujou as my video tracking software - and then Maya and After Effects, and although it gives brilliant results (as can be seen in my videos), i would rather be able to just work in Aftert Effects and Maya. Less software to deal with.
bro i have this alert when i export from plugin or script how to fix it?? ALERT! You need to check Allow Scripts to Write Files and Access Network in the General Preferences in order to use this plug in.

Hi Jake! Great video! Will you please link to the video you referenced regarding 3d tracking for drone vids? I can't seem to locate it.
Really great, Thanks from Sweden :)
Amazing!! Thanks Jake for a pretty cool tutorials!

Hi, I aligned the grid by eye, just using the middle mouse button. Then anything you create will be on the grid.
or by Alt+MiddleMouseButton to rotate the view in 3D, to be specific
Need Corona renderer workflow please?

Nice, glad it helped. How are you compositing in 3ds Max?

Thank you very much Jake.
You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hey, Jake
in AE3D Export the browse button for the save path does not work
tell me please where export files can be stored by default
Hi! the script saves to your desktop. as far as I know this can't be changed.
@@jakedenham thank you 😃
Thanks Dude! appreciate it
Why is my render coming out without transparency? it keeps a black bg
this is perfect
Glad you liked it
This is really amazing jake,, but why you chose vray,, i wish to see the very same tut with Corona ❤
because is better, now and ever...

Hi. Is the resolution in max and ae the same?
If things are moving it is likely the nulls need to be grounded flat

How much time the initializing takes ? It’s about 10 minutes iam waiting and it’s still intializing.
Great!
Thanx for choosing vray
Most welcome 😊
Do you need to render each and every frame manually? Adding the video frame as 'background' in V-Ray renderer?
no, the background won't be saved. If you save as a PNG you can just drop the renders onto the sequence in after effects.
Sorry, second comment. the script on aenhancers is not downloadable. Is there another option?
Nevermind. I found one. :)
