Their PBV van line will come out first, this is just a reskinned version of that, shouldn't be too hard to add. It's the whole point of their new PBV modular system.
Depends what range they actually achieve, but there certainly are some good ideas here. It's basically a pop-top van, but taking advantage of some innovations like steer-by-wire. I've been waiting for a decent e-campervan since 2014, and we are getting closer.

You can tell they dont offroad though. A muddy capacitive touch screen to control the winch would be useless on the trail. I like aspects of it but overall not a fan.
Sadly, due to safety regulations, this particular layout could never go to market. It's a pure concept. Still, EV platforms do lend themselves to the camper van niche well, with plenty of flat floorspace and wide wheelbases.
Concept vehicles rarely if ever enter production in the form they are displayed at shows. Crash regulations, mass manufacturing constants, price, etc significantly change a production model from its concept and prototype form.

This is my favorite concept from this year's show. Considering how popular off-road vehicles have become, I'm surprised no one has done a small off-road van.
I have a Mitsubishi Delica - they used to be 4x4, these days they’re AWD, not electric though. Similar to the VW ones I guess, but more affordable. I can’t fathom why they weren’t exported, there’s such a huge gap in the market. I love mine so much! Wouldn’t mind one of these KIAs though, if I was rich enough.
If Kia can offer this with good range and for a price that undercuts the VW ID Buzz they will be practically printing money. Looks distinctive, imaginative and practical. Kia needs to build this!!
I don't want a VW Buzz, and I don't want to pay $60k+ for one. but i do want an ev van so bad I've been considering it. Because no other freaking company will build one! come on KIA!!! I'll cancel my canoo order to get this.

your van looks really nice. anytime i see a van with solar cells on the roof, i immediately imagine solar cells (monocrystalline, work great in cloudy and overcast days, because powered by UV light which is abundant on such days) on the sides as well. this would increase the overall wattage being collected from the UV/the sun. great work!
thats one of the most logical vehicles ive seen coming out in the last decades! a small camper, rugget enough to go "anywhere" & seems like its been designed with function over form in mind, wich i always appreciate! very nice!
This looks great! I do hope Kia actually make this van. It will be great for its intended purpose so it will definitely be a worthy rival against VW ID buzz, but it would also be brilliant in the commercial sector as well! I can see folks also using the van as a daily driver over and above a truck. Come on Kia, get busy building this! That Wkndr is definitely something else!
These are great-looking Kias. Very cyberpunk and rugged. Kia should consider making a cargo and passenger version of that camper van. We need more variety than SUVs in the market.
This is a perfect example of a concept vehicle where everybody sees it and says “I will buy one please put it in production!!!” but realistically this wouldn’t sell very much at all. There’s a very small amount of people that this is a perfect vehicle for, and for those people it’s probably going to be too expensive.
I would buy it if they removed everything from the inside except the walls and front seats, remove the opening top and I would use it for work if it were $25k
That van struck the... very interesting/cool vibe. Probably not for my current lifestyle. But I could see how a slightly different version of it would be great as a day tripper. (if it had an engine or generator to charge up the battery)
