Really like the look of this device, but I have all my bases covered between now owning a Vita I picked up recently and my 3DS. Only thing I wouldn't mind having is better N64 support for a few titles. The having to carry around two devices if I want to have access to everything doesn't bother me much and the lack of N64 is more than made up for me with the support of native 3DS and Vita titles. This is probably about the best looking and designed device I've seen out of these Chinese built retro handhelds.Good on them and it's at a good price even for the dual boot model.
This is Product Management 101. Listen to your customers and reiterate until you and up with a great product! Thanks for your contributions Taki, and a round of applause for the people working on this machine for not abandoning it as soon as it had a price tag.
It’s annoying how all the handhelds are available in the US and most of the northern hemisphere, here in Australia everything is marked up *A LOT* and there’s shipping and the conversion of currency if you get it internationally. And it’s hard to find them shipped from Australia
Not a huge loss. Not super impressed with mine. The d pad and buttons will get stuck on inputs. Remapping buttons seems to be impossible, and it tends to choke on PSP games. (This was the Pandora's Box version, not Android tho)
ABSOLUTELY amazing how far we came in handheld development... I would have loved to own one of these things in my childhood...sadly I am 36...so I 'only' owned an original Gameboy...was awesome back then ..but this here in on a WHOLE NOTHER level...
hey have they updated this with a lot of the new features of the Retroid Pocket 2? Is it better at playing some of these other systems now? I'm very onboard for Retroid Pocket 2 but i love the gameboy form factor of this system so I just wanted to see if they are now closer in functionality

Hello Taki 👋 Glad you're back and safe bro. Watch the whole video salivating, until the Dreamcast portion. Hopefully someone will develop a more capable DC emu, or better optimized the current emu on this. Really want to play VF3TB on this. And that Dpad is Gorgeous. I will love playing 2D Arcade games on this. Looking forward to more videos Taki ✌

Hopefully with this being the final revision, the retro community can manage to get ReDream on here or at least better optimized the current DC emu. Thanks for posting and sharing this review I’m really excited to get one of this consoles There are so many out there but this one looks great and seems to feel right In hands and most important the emulator and playability quality showed is awesome for the price 💪🏽💪🏽
Hey, your sound demo recordings weren't included in this render of the video! I first thought it was weird that I didn't hear the buttons, but it was obvious it was an error when I couldn't hear music from the speakers.
They are, I have the volume playing for all the games except for one at the end with the emulation tests. I'm using audio out with the cable. I only recorded the speaker for the Donkey Kong audio tests.
@@TakiUdon Watching back, I had to raise my volume to double what I normally have it at to hear anything (I heard the old one). By comparison, your voiceover was uncomfortably loud. Checking the speaker test, it's the same thing. More than double what I normally have my volume at, and I could barely hear the speakers, and then your voiceover is really, really loud.
If you are using RetroArch, there are about 6 or so cores for MAME. I think I have MAME 0.37b5, but you can get a set that's supported by the core you want to use: github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/MAME I also use the free MAME4Droid app
This is such a cool little device. I as well would be playing SNES, N64, GBA and DS/PSP on this bad boy. I am impressed by what it can handle and I want one.
I see some stretched out vertical games, I assume this can be changed in the settings since it's running retroarch under android? Just thought it's weird you mentioned specifically that it has 4:3 screen but left the vertical games stretched to 4:3. Great reviews! This seems to be better the RG350 after the rework. RG350 still don't have a working video out.
I stretched out those games myself to fill out the screen for filming. Everything can be changed to how you like. I personally don't mind stretching 3:2 or 16:9 on a 4:3 since I remember what those systems looked like on my old computer with a 4:3 monitor :)
Taki Udon, I ordered one over these a week ago, paid for via direct debit. The item is still not posted out to me. I am in the UK so it will take a while to get to me as it is. Have you any more information about this product while I wait? Keep up the good work
Yes, I've been working on a video showcasing this running bigger Android apps and PC emulation that I didn't have space for in this video. I'm working on getting Windows 95 running so I can try out Starcraft.
I really like it! Have a question, is it possible to turn off the display when is connected by hdmi? Are they planning in putting newer versions of Android? (their are better for battery life...) Also you know if there is a front-end like emulationstation for Android?
I think I am going to buy it but I want to be sure, the single system you put the lik is the one that has the updated joystick and buttons no? Thanks for the help 😊

What the heck how can you dislike this video, the must think the world is flat,. I gave it a thumbs up good on you for doing something good.
I am working on ps vita emulator give me a 2 more months then we cook baby
Nice mate love my vita. You should join the ps homebrew discord server they will love this
@@isac1 I'd give anything to play Wipeout 2048! Never owned the Vita but since Wipeout XL, I'd love to get a straight up upgrade from that.
@@KyleRuggles I would still recommend buying one even if there is an emulator. I use mine to play all my roms
@@isac1 Buy a vita? hows the homebrew community with it? which games can I play on it? Guess I'll have to find it on ebay eh?
@@KyleRuggles full psp emulation with the original ui. SNES bed gba gbc gb is what I run but it has a lot more and the homebrew community is awesome. Check out vitahacks on reddit for more information and you can get every PS vita game for free
Nice review. It helps me with choosing between 350M and with this. Main give away is the hdmi that is working in this device. Thanks Taki!
Can I use MY SD card? Is the OS and roms stored on the same card? The 32gb is $85 and the 64gb is $108. Am I paying for the card, can't i just use my own card and save a few bucks?
Yeah save the money and buy a 128 for like 20 bucks and still save
I watched one of your videos while scrolling through the home feed a week or two ago but forgot your name and forgot to sub. Thankfully youtube sent another recommendation of yours my way - instantly subbed! Great quality in these videos (I think I watched the GPD vid first) and looking forward to bingewatching these during this quarantine haha
Stay safe.
Thanks for the awesome videos Taki! I for one bought it. Don't care how long I'll have to wait but it seems worthwhile. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Was about to buy one until I got to his section on Dreamcast.. Took my hand off the purchase button.. So close
Great job on this video! Keep up the good work!
not even 1gb of ram but still ppsspp full speed tekken o.0
frameskip on though.
This is probably about the best looking and designed device I've seen out of these Chinese built retro handhelds.Good on them and it's at a good price even for the dual boot model.
great review - looks like i have found my birthday/fathers day/any gaming day device - just hope i get the updated model
This is Product Management 101. Listen to your customers and reiterate until you and up with a great product!
Thanks for your contributions Taki, and a round of applause for the people working on this machine for not abandoning it as soon as it had a price tag.
:D
Always great detailed reviews that helps buyers make the right decision. Cheers Taki!
Really good review! I'm sold on this. It's perfect for emulator gaming. Love that 4:3 screen and the design of the system
Went ahead and ordered one. Thanks Taki! 😀
3:00 WHOA is that nayuta no kiseki? holy shit such a psp gem. sad it was never officially localized thank god for fan translations
Thank you for the amazing review!!
Thank you!
Looking forward to next video on this!! Ordered mine a few days ago, they changed courier so it will arrive 7-10 days instead of 20-40 days 😁😁
how did you change it?
Hey thanks for reviewing using external bluetooth controller and hdmi output screen! you're the best reviewer for this product I found
Thanks so much for showcasing these, and for your time.
Thanks for being a sub for 5 months!
@@TakiUdon Thanks. Totally worth it. I appreciate you.
Super excited gotta get one for me and one for the heetz
When is the next video on this?
I was rocking the original DMG too!
@@TakiUdon what was your favorite game ..
I love Metroid return of Samus Aran, true lies, worms and mystic quest...ah and Zelda of course...
@@TakiUdon and the mortal Kombat games ,king of fighter and street fighter...
hey have they updated this with a lot of the new features of the Retroid Pocket 2? Is it better at playing some of these other systems now? I'm very onboard for Retroid Pocket 2 but i love the gameboy form factor of this system so I just wanted to see if they are now closer in functionality
Excelent video Taki!!!! As always. Do you recommend these specific sellers from the links you posted?
Yes, they are the manufacturer.
@@TakiUdon thank you for always answer 🙏 , great i'll be getting the double system then :) take care taki! And keep with the excelence in your videos.👍
Thank you very much for the movie. I am interested in the console and this film has helped me a lot.
Hey Taki, tks for all your many vids! I want a DMG form factor handheld device. This seems to be the best bang for buck right now. I have eliminated anything that is a RPi case. Would you say the Retroid is the best bet right now? I don't mind paying more as long as I get the power to justify it. What's your personal take? Thanks!
Hello Taki 👋
Glad you're back and safe bro.
Watch the whole video salivating, until the Dreamcast portion.
Hopefully someone will develop a more capable DC emu, or better optimized the current emu on this. Really want to play VF3TB on this.
And that Dpad is Gorgeous. I will love playing 2D Arcade games on this.
Looking forward to more videos Taki ✌
isnt this suposed to be the revised version of that super retro video taki did? why did dreamcast run better on the old version dont get it xD . do you know?
@@ThePureownage16
This is the final revision of the Super Retro/Powkiddy A19/Pandora Handheld.
I can't say if this(Retroid pocket) doesn't play as well as the earlier versions. Taki only showed 3D DC games on the Retroid. The Super Retro had trouble playing (most) 3D DC games too.
Hopefully with this being the final revision, the retro community can manage to get ReDream on here or at least better optimized the current DC emu.
I plan on ordering this (Dual system version) next week. Would love to see more videos of this though.
Peace✌
Hi Taki, Amazin video BTW. I got the system today (128GB Dual boot) I can't seem to find the "Retroid OS" or access the market app anywhere in the system. Can you give me a few pointers? Thank you so much in advance!
The same here. I can't find the "Retroid OS" or access the market app anywhere in the system. Can you help me?
Thanks for the review! looks great. Just checking but ordering from the links in the description will get you this latest revision device and not one of the older ones?
They only sell the version I show in this video.
@@TakiUdon Thanks Taki, do you know if it can run the android version of Xcom?
Ohh these look awesome, perfect for what I'm looking for I also love the design (I was going to get the older 3rd party ones purely for the design alone) so I'm looking forward to this
Thanks for posting and sharing this review
I’m really excited to get one of this consoles
There are so many out there but this one looks great and seems to feel right In hands and most important the emulator and playability quality showed is awesome for the price 💪🏽💪🏽
It's a value for sure
You had me at Retro games.....subbed.
Thanks for the support!
@@TakiUdon I'll try watching again, but I couldn't hear anything. 🤔
Looks like you have pokemon soul silver on at one point. Do DS games come as standard in the library?
Great review Taki! Can I ask if the device plays well Banjo Kazooie & Tooie?
Yes, but they need frameskip.
Great video, got the single system version. Which Mame romset do you recommend ?
If you are using RetroArch, there are about 6 or so cores for MAME. I think I have MAME 0.37b5, but you can get a set that's supported by the core you want to use: github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/MAME
I also use the free MAME4Droid app
Did you swap the buttons of your Retroids in this review? The website has completely different colors.
what two lego games were you talking about in the psp section?
I have to ask, what are those pictures you're using for wallpapers? Those are super cool.
They came with the device.
@@TakiUdon Well thank you. You've convinced me to order one. I should arrive in a week or so.
That’s awesome!! I definitely want one!!
Thanks for being a sub for 5 months!
Finally ! A handheld console with a six button spread to play street fighter alpha 3 and street fighter 3 third strike !
I saw you running Luigi's Mansion. Can you tell me if Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door works on this?
Are you going to review Evercade?
Any multiplayer over internet possible?
I instantly fell in love with the design. I'm very glad it's not only pretty but a good product as well!!
The GB/GBC form factor doesn't get enough love in the market!
I really like it! Have a question, is it possible to turn off the display when is connected by hdmi?
Are they planning in putting newer versions of Android? (their are better for battery life...)
Also you know if there is a front-end like emulationstation for Android?
I asked about the HDMI out and there should be a toggle option for this. An Android 8.0 version exists for this, but it doesn't improve battery life.
@@TakiUdonsorry and were can I find the vr android 8 🤔? Thanks!
I think I am going to buy it but I want to be sure, the single system you put the lik is the one that has the updated joystick and buttons no? Thanks for the help 😊
@@francootaola9172 Both links are updated models.
@@TakiUdon hi taki, sorry for bothering so much, i meant the D pad, in the single system for the 64 and 128 gb they show in the extras the old circular D pad. did you ordered a 64 or 128 gb vr by any chance? thanks!
What games is that at 3:04?
Did I see correctly that Colecovision gamrs are playable on here? Any other Colecovision systems out there?
These are so cool! Display for me needs to be much bigger, wonder if there's a way to set this up on a PS Vita that's modded? Great Video thank you
I think you didn’t mention the input lag in nes emulator.
This isn't using a Bluetooth controller.
Taki Udon I bought the 3rd version of this device in China, found out the nes emulator has serious input lag while using onboard joystick and buttons. Hope this is just a software problem.
Sorry if you answered this in the video ( I don't have time to watch the whole thing right now) but does this come with the games already loaded on it, or do you have to put them on there yourself?
The dual system does
there was like 5 games you played i was curious what title they were, anyway to list the games you tested in this video?
Im still using PSP. Its one of my favourite mobile consoles.
Nice video! Think it's the best retro gaming console... Happy to see this video, as I was to order the rg350 (which is a great device too, but this seems better) 😅
Can you clarify which version is better (alliexpress or the official site one)? I don't think I got that part right
The dual system is better if you don't know how to provide your own games for the device.
Nice Video, what is the game name at minute 03:00? Thanks in advance
Can you test Sega Saturn game?
