My Trifecta: RG35XX (Today I would buy 35XX+) with 3D printed cover. Pocketable, cheap, sturdy, covers PS1 and under. Using Garlic OS and playing C64 and DOS games too. Retroid Pocket 3+ (Today I would buy 4 pro) Covers almost everithing I need in retro. Steamdeck for steam games. (Many retro / retro style games available on steam, you can run GOG on it)

Bought my Steam Deck because I wanted to get into PC gaming for cheap. And I love that I can do literally everything on it. I take it everywhere with me.
When you did your intro I figure you would pick 3 by screen size ratio , Like 4:3 for retro games RGB30 square screen for PICO-8 and other square screen games, and 16:9 for modern games. But Nope I was far from right on this one. lol
So what youre saying is you EDC a miyoo mini or miyoo mini plus lol I have a ROG AllyX and its perfect in so many ways! But its too large to carry with or pull out for short durations when traveling out day to day and waiting around. Thanks for the vid! I am thinking ill get a. RP2S and see if its pocketable for that slot. And i guess i have a solid desktop PC for my 3rd device. I hacked an old chromebox to running linux Bazzite for a retro game system on the TV for my partner. Was a fun project! Seems to be able to run up to Gamecube games mostly, but crashes for anything harder than that...
Your channel is a breath of fresh air in a Europa sized ocean of retro UA-cam channels. Mmmm, now i see that written down, i can see it's not actually the clever comment I thought It'd be. Anyways, I subbed - the "you should start a fire" line in the pocket S video still has me laughing 20 minutes later mate.
Just got an RG533v, and along with my PC and Switch OLED I'm set. Thanks for these videos! They are continually entertaining and educational! Totally my favorite retro emulation channel.
For me,.I have two pocket devices, the RG35XX+ for most of my retro stuff, my hacked Vita for Vita, PSP and Ape Escape (I could play Retroarch on that too, but the RG I'd just a better experience), and then my plan is to round out the trinity with an as-yet-undecided handheld PC (I'm leaning towards the Legion Go for the screen and hardware versatility) to cover higher end emulation and modern games
My killer combo line up is the Miyoo Mini Plus, Odin 2 Pro, a Laptop with Batocera, and Xbox series X. But if I was given to choose only one for gaming, I will choose my Odin.
That intro is everything. 😂by the way, you have now got me thinking about that middle device because I have something to cover the other ends. Thank you dweeb!
I bought a MM+ a few months back and won a logitech G cloud last month in a pringles competition and i have to agree. MM+ perfect on the go and G cloud just streams so well and the battery life is unrivaled

started out with a steam deck, then got a miyoo mini v3, then a retroid pocket flip. im planning on getting the miyoo flip whenever that releases. id probably replace the miyoo mini since im ready to have wifi and bluetooth on my pocketable device. im hoping when folded up the miyoo flip will be comparable in size to the mini plus but we'll see
Great video TechDweeb! I'd love to see/hear your opinion on how you feel about Controller grips for Phones/Tablets. It seems a lot of grips don't fit if you have a phone case, and I wonder if it would make a tablet feel ridiculously large.
My favorite handheld devices alongside my midrange gaming pc from 2020 are currently my DS lite + R4 Card and my homebrew modded 3DS XL, the latter one doing surprisingly good with emulation of most older systems
I definitely have a problem and buy way too many retro handhelds. Way more than I ever need. If I had to strip down to only 3, I think it would be my RP4PRO for my d-pad centric device. The odin2 Pro for my higher end emulation and streaming device. And then my steam deck for everything else.
RG35XXSP (or H if you care about N64 and Dreamcast that cannot run all the games) and Steam Deck best combo imo the Steam Deck is my favorite gaming system of all time, I wish it would be officially sold in my country to acquire the OLED. I can also use the Steam Deck as a streaming system replacing the Couch Device category completely.
Modern: Series X. Works perfect in my living room on TV. Couch: Nintendo Switch (2). Exclusives, kid friendly and the ultimate party games. Plus I buy al the games physical so it works everywhere all the time. Pocket: iPhone SE (2022) with Backbone controller. This gets the most hours. Playing gamepass, emulation, netflix games, apple arcade, remote playing xbox (scaled perfect on this screen).
My Trifecta: 1.- Miyoo Mini Plus, Anbernic RG Nano (I'm gonna buy those after watch so many videos) 2.- Nintendo Switch (thinkin in acquire an Steam Deck in the future or something similar) 3.- My Rog Asus Laptop and PS5 👋😃 Cheers
I knew for sure the og miyoo mini and steam deck would be on this list but I am def very shocked to see the g cloud figured the 3rd one would be rp4 or odin 2
Yay! Love for the underrated G-Cloud. The battery life on that system is EPIC. Nothing compares. They just recently gave the system video out capability, which means you can use Xreal glasses or a monitor and have an even bigger screen!
I thought about this as well but I don't really need a couch device other than my Steam Deck, so I use that in combination with the original Miyoo Mini. Right now I don't feel the need to get something like the Retroid Pocket 4, because it's just too big to be a pocket handheld and not powerful enough to go against the Steam Deck.
You awesome dweebs love your vids. For me I like your Channel and retro game corps equally. You make me buy retro handheld my first is 35xx. After I watch your Miyoo mini I bought plus immediately, bcoz I can’t find Miyoo mini.
I'll take one of each. I'm starting to think it's time for me to start a puter build, probably going to do it in stages, maybe buy a part a month. Thanks for the links TD, I'm saving this viddy.
Intro was awesome :D have a good time and lot of distance between you and some another frustrated guys! Not everyone gets your sense of humour I guess.
I can't buy too much stuff because my wife will argue with me cause I'm buying junk that's going to end up being more junk. And it's unnecessary things that we don't need. And I have to be Responsible for our Kids.😩
Work on your frame, Broseph. You deserve to be happy, don’t cower before your woman. As long as she has what she needs and the kids have what they need, you have needs too.
My top 3 is a desktop, a laptop and GPD Win Mini. I pocket the lightest 7" clamshell for the win! It still might be the lightest 7" handheld there is. I also use a portable 130W 25,000mah movespeed power bank from amazon which is on sale @ $40! I get loads of power that way.
TD great video as usual. I’m new to the steam deck and have never done any kind of pc gaming in the past nor have I ever used Linux. I was wondering if you know how to make the text larger on the steam deck (I wear glasses and find my eyes straining often while trying to read certain text). If you do know how to enlarge it I would be ever so grateful if you could make a tutorial video to assist useless newbies like myself who cannot find any help with this that I can understand anywhere. Even if you are unable to help I appreciate you taking the time to read my message. Take care.😀
I think the only option for you is, in-game, you can press the Steam button + LB to turn on the magnifier function. Scroll around using the right trackpad or thumbstick. That has helped me in games like The Witcher 3 where the text is super tiny. That's about it though, unless there are other plugins etc that I'm not aware of. Hope this helps!
You can also map toggle magnifier to one of the back buttons. I usually hotkey it to "R4" To set R4 to magnifier. In the game hit Steam key . Go into Controller settings. "Edit layout", "buttons" "R4" add command. Go to "systems" and click the third option from the top "Toggle Magnifier". Often when magnifier engaged the cursor disappears and is in the middle of the screen. You can still click on most game's UI in magnifier mode.
My three combo now is the Switch Lite (because it has four of the best games ever in Loop Hero, Brotato, Into The Breach and Vampire Survivors), the RGB30 (mainly for Pico-8 and vertical MAME stuff) and a hacked 3DS because you can't really emulate it properly anywhere else.
Just bought the RG35XX H and its my first retro handheld. Starting to learn all the tips and tricks in emulations and retro games and spent alot of time looking at videos. Then i realise this device couldnt handle psp, 3ds, gamecube and ps2 games well. Now thinking if it is worth getting retroid pocket 4 pro purely for that. However, i already got a good gaming pc ( 4070 super R7 5800X3D) and a 1440p@165Hz LG monitor. If i were to buy the RP4Pro, it will meet all 3 categories as you mentioned haha. But thinking i should wait as many more new handhelds are constantly appearing and during that time i have plenty of games from the RG35XXH to keep me occupied first.
Nice video concept! This year, I picked up both a Steam Deck (OG, used from a coworker) and an RG405V. Loving them both. Of course I have a Switch, PS5, Vita, 3DS, etc.
Currently just have a modded Switch for modern stuff, and a raspberry pi 400 for retro. It covers a lot, but it would be nice to have a gaming mini PC and maybe a small retro handheld. OTOH, time is always limited and I have an endless pile of other things I should be doing instead. It would genuinely be kind of nice to live in The Mom's basement with nothing I need to do but play games and see friends.
My perfect combo would be the gkd pixel for when I'm going on a quick trip, the RGB10X/RG35XX H for more advanced games while still being pretty portable, and then a more powerful android handheld like the RP4/pro for when I'm at home or on a vacation
Just found your channel after seaching the Miyoo mini + for mods... Love the video format and the delivery, great job earned my sub the second you said I wear Cargo pants because im 40...... BAHAHAHAA! great vid and will be seeing some of your other content. May all your rolls be Nat 20's
I’ve got a similar concept to this, but I’m one of the dweebs with 47 devices. I have narrowed down my emulation handhelds down to RGB30, RG405M, X55, and Odin 2. I could drop the X55, but I love it for GBA and she was my first emulation handheld ❤️ I’ve been thinking about turning my gaming PC into a gaming server and then using moonlight to connect my devices
Would like to hear your take on a Nintendo Switch with cfw as a retro gaming device. It can emulate N64, 3DS, and PS1. As well as native switch games without needing to emulate. There's loads of homebrew programs to enhance the gaming experience as well. Tinfoil has a retroarch nsp game forwarder that adds roms to the Horizon OS launcher. Making launching games easier than on Android as no retroarch frontend is needed. It can also run Lakka, LibreElec, Linux, and Android. I have a Steam Deck but find the Switch less fatiguing because of how lightweight it is. The fan on the Switch is inaudible when in your hands. On idle it consumes 1.6W and in game 2.5-3W, on the Steam Deck the lowest TDP setting is 5W, at which performance is hindered for 3D games.
I don't need a pocketable device because I never go outside (yeah, the only grass I touch is in Stardew Valley). For couch gaming I got the RG556. And lastly I just went for a Steam Deck instead of a PC. I mean I do have a PC but I just don't use it for gaming. I don't know why but I don't enjoy playing games on PC as much as I do on a handheld. Even the exact same game is more enjoyable played on a handheld for me. Weird.
6-700 for a PC is wayyyy out of my price range, as much as I'd love that more than anything... So here's the 3 devices I use, that I got with some financial help from loved ones. 1. Retroid Pocket 2+ for that pocketable life, also double as an android "phone" for me. 2. Steam Deck 64gb for it's flexibility, also doubles as my main computer thanks to a $15 dock I bought years ago for a phone. 3. Xbox Series S for TV gaming when the Deck isn't quite powerful enough. It was very cheap at $250 and I only have a 1080p display I got for free anyway. Maybe someday I'll recover and heal enough to work again and I'll be able to afford to build a PC, but for now this setup has me covered for almost everything.

You should divide your electronics by Form-Factors and Ecosystems. So there's the obvious five types: Phone, Tablet, Laptop, Desktop, TV. And there's software walls/gardens from Apple, Google, Microsoft, Open-Source, and Other. And all these companies specialise in certain ways.

Love this channel. My favourite are the hidden gem videos.
Thanks! More to come!
@@TechDweeb we need a neo geo video also
This is great, it's like they say with cameras... The best one is the one you have with you
This intro might be my favorite one so far, when you got all those rg35xx plus out of your pockets it was hilarious 😆
Haha thanks buddy!
When you did your intro I figure you would pick 3 by screen size ratio , Like 4:3 for retro games RGB30 square screen for PICO-8 and other square screen games, and 16:9 for modern games. But Nope I was far from right on this one. lol
been through a decent amount of devices and all i really use are my steam deck and 3ds love both of them
So what youre saying is you EDC a miyoo mini or miyoo mini plus lol
I have a ROG AllyX and its perfect in so many ways!
Great video. I like seeing models that can fulfill various roles like this.
My set up:
RG35XXH
Logitech G Cloud
Switch
Xbox Series S
Steam Deck
Perfect!
@@TechDweeb do you have any accessories recommendations for any of the items in this video?
DSi
Laptop T480
Desk PC
I can play on desk, couch, bed and power/water line (Idk how you say when need to pay services).
My 3 are the Analogue Pocket, Switch, and Steam Deck. Pretty much gets you everything ever made with the highest accuracy 😁
My killer combo line up is the Miyoo Mini Plus, Odin 2 Pro, a Laptop with Batocera, and Xbox series X. But if I was given to choose only one for gaming, I will choose my Odin.
I like when Tech Dweeb shoves his dongle into the USB A hole
That intro is everything. 😂by the way, you have now got me thinking about that middle device because I have something to cover the other ends. Thank you dweeb!
I bought a MM+ a few months back and won a logitech G cloud last month in a pringles competition and i have to agree. MM+ perfect on the go and G cloud just streams so well and the battery life is unrivaled
Nice! Congrats!
Good mix. Personally, I'd suggest RG35XX(+) (for bigger hands) / Beelink SER5 MAX dual boot win+batocera / Steam Deck (or RP4Pro for lighter / less worrisome carry)
Your dialogue is so good 😂
Great introduction and presentation, you have a pretty good comedic timing! I also liked the aesthetics of the scenario and the pop-ups on the screen, worth a subscribe!
But what sold me is the fact that you sound a lot like Zach Hadel lol
Jokes aside, keep up with your content style, its great!
started out with a steam deck, then got a miyoo mini v3, then a retroid pocket flip. im planning on getting the miyoo flip whenever that releases. id probably replace the miyoo mini since im ready to have wifi and bluetooth on my pocketable device. im hoping when folded up the miyoo flip will be comparable in size to the mini plus but we'll see
I'm very excited for the Miyoo flip, but also scared because I will be upset if it doesn't meet my expectations
One thing I like in this videos it's when you guys put on the names of the games that show up. Sometimes they look great and I don't know them 😬
Haha I'm the same! That's why I do it. I hate not knowing what game I'm looking at on the screen :P
I definitely have a problem and buy way too many retro handhelds. Way more than I ever need. If I had to strip down to only 3, I think it would be my RP4PRO for my d-pad centric device. The odin2 Pro for my higher end emulation and streaming device. And then my steam deck for everything else.
Having too many handhelds is better than having too few. ☝️
RG35XXSP (or H if you care about N64 and Dreamcast that cannot run all the games) and Steam Deck best combo imo
the Steam Deck is my favorite gaming system of all time, I wish it would be officially sold in my country to acquire the OLED.
I can also use the Steam Deck as a streaming system replacing the Couch Device category completely.
How the SP doing these days? Any annoying wear and tear?
Modern: Series X. Works perfect in my living room on TV.
Couch: Nintendo Switch (2). Exclusives, kid friendly and the ultimate party games. Plus I buy al the games physical so it works everywhere all the time.
Pocket: iPhone SE (2022) with Backbone controller.
This gets the most hours. Playing gamepass, emulation, netflix games, apple arcade, remote playing xbox (scaled perfect on this screen).
Pure entertainment and pure exactly-what-I-wanted, as always.
My Trifecta:
1.- Miyoo Mini Plus, Anbernic RG Nano (I'm gonna buy those after watch so many videos)
2.- Nintendo Switch (thinkin in acquire an Steam Deck in the future or something similar)
3.- My Rog Asus Laptop and PS5
👋😃 Cheers
Marriage vow: You will be the only person who can interrupt my flow.
I'll make sure to tell my future wife that at our wedding vows
I knew for sure the og miyoo mini and steam deck would be on this list but I am def very shocked to see the g cloud figured the 3rd one would be rp4 or odin 2
Yeah I'm surprised too. I never expected to love the cloud as much as I do but I would definitely choose it over the rp4 or the odin, personally.
The intro was so based that I had to sub. Also cuz your voice sounds like Phineas from Phineas & Ferb.
Hi! Just wanted to let you know that this is the first video of yours that I’m watching and I subscribed within the first minute of it 🫶🏻
Thanks buddy, welcome!
Got my Retroid Pocket Flip for my pocketable, a Lenovo Legion Go for my portable and power gaming, and a couple of Laptops for work/productivity
You awesome dweebs love your vids. For me I like your Channel and retro game corps equally. You make me buy retro handheld my first is 35xx. After I watch your Miyoo mini I bought plus immediately, bcoz I can’t find Miyoo mini.
Thanks for saying so buddy! The MM+ is a legend, you're in good hands
I'll take one of each. I'm starting to think it's time for me to start a puter build, probably going to do it in stages, maybe buy a part a month. Thanks for the links TD, I'm saving this viddy.
Nice! I'm around if you need a hand 👍
Thanks buddy@@TechDweeb
Intro was awesome :D have a good time and lot of distance between you and some another frustrated guys! Not everyone gets your sense of humour I guess.
I can't buy too much stuff because my wife will argue with me cause I'm buying junk that's going to end up being more junk. And it's unnecessary things that we don't need. And I have to be Responsible for our Kids.😩
Yup. Typical girls interrupting our flow 😒
Just say you're selling them on ebay and just list them for way more than anyone would ever pay.
My wife encouraged me to hurry up and buy my Steam Deck because I really want it and who knows what will happen in the future.
Work on your frame, Broseph. You deserve to be happy, don’t cower before your woman. As long as she has what she needs and the kids have what they need, you have needs too.
If it's your money. Your wife can shove it.
OK, but what cargo pants do you recommend, to optimally carry said pocket devices? Also, what is the 2D side-scroller at 8:30?
I want Odin 2, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Streaming, Switch, and all other emulation. Seems really good.
You've hurt my feelings with that intro! So jealous! 🥺🤣✌️
I usually hotkey it to "R4"
To set R4 to magnifier.
@@smidlee7747 thank u both very much. I appreciate the help, I will definitely give these tips a go.
MM+, RP3/4, Steam Deck, Desktop PC is the ultimate combo
You only need an ROG Ally. Beefy for gaming, also an entire PC
I love mine
Yea try whipping that out while waiting at the DMV 😂
@@netnomad47 Same as whipping out a Switch
Here's what I'd have, an egpu set up, a lenevo Legion go to plug into the egpu and then a small handheld like the MM+
Haha jokes on you! I have my classic janko pants on and im holding 3 steamdecks in my pockets
That's what she said
@@suhtangwong Lmaaaaao
Since I don't live in Canada anymore that fridge full of root beer is what hits me the most with unfiltered envy.
Have you checked out Unicorn Overlord? I got it on the Switch since it's not out for the PC. It one of my favorite games on the Switch.
0:13 OK now I am jealous! You ARE living the dream!
I love the orange and black theme you have going
Anyone know what the game briefly shown at 11:49 is? The 2D Indie pixel-art shooter? Looks like fun...
Bot Vice. I talk about it in this vid: ua-cam.com/video/-3InyvSHdq4/v-deo.html
Awesome! Thanks very much!@@TechDweeb
The intro made my morning 😂😂😂
Great video tech dweeb love your production quality and content!
The Raspberry Pi 400 is great! I love it! ❤️
You said you’ll make a video about psp games on the rg505. Eagerly waiting for that one!
For me it's Console/PC, Odin 2/Powkiddy X55, Anbernic RG35XX.
It's a good time to go back to retro gaming. Enjoying my Anbernic RG 35XX H.
There was only a way to sync the saves files between devices. That would be awesome
Oh man I'm so with you
My perfect combo would be the gkd pixel for when I'm going on a quick trip, the RGB10X/RG35XX H for more advanced games while still being pretty portable, and then a more powerful android handheld like the RP4/pro for when I'm at home or on a vacation
Love my GCloud… I’ve done a few videos about it. Great pucks
The deck is no joke. I finally bought my wife one after two years of trying to get her interested.
Steam Deck instead of the ROG Ally?
I would love to get my hands on a moddable Switch someday!
Had to be Steam Deck in the end. You can even flick to a desktop and do work on it if necessary. Sorry I said that
