There is something about Nanci's music that I just can't get enough of. I have been collecting her vinyl pressings for awhile now and my wife is getting a wee bit worried as I have 'many' copies of every record. She thinks I will be collecting 'catcher in the rye' soon. Though to know Nanci's music is to know, you can never have enough. I love these live shows too. I've always said, an ok musician can make a good album but only a GREAT musician can sound great live. Nanci does both perfectly. I just can't get enough.
This has made me cry. Thanks so much for posting! I’m Irish and I never saw her in concert or in any concert but I have everyone of her albums and her music carried me though my teens , twenties and thirties. I miss her a lot
Hard to believe that almost 40 years have passed since this concert in Sept. 1984. Nanci, so young and vibrant and looks so happy, beautiful and voice in top form. I especially love the songs, "Wheels" and "Mary Margaret" There is just something in the way she sings "Wheels" that really gets to me.
This is fantastic. Just a shame the camera didn't get the guitar in shot. Thank you for posting. Isn't she just so sweet and brilliant. I love Nancy. 🙏 🤗 💛
A big thank you James for posting this. So nice to see all these early videos. Can never get enough of seeing Nanci. Who is the lady who joined Nanci on stage to sing "Mary Margaret" and other songs? I think Nanci said her name was "Frank'ie?" Just wanted to ask who she is and what is her last name? She has a very nice voice!
There's a Light Beyond These Woods (Mary Margaret) is always beautiful but I find the performance of this song, starting and 23:43 exceptionally beautiful and touching.
Would you please consider a trade or T least uploading in 480p? I love it but it's low quality for the tv.. I have a few items at least you might not have
I'm hearing some decent compression on an SM58 for the vocal and the guitar is probably DI but still compressed. Sounds straight off the board to me though for the most part with a room mic maybe?
@@jonplatz2929 Shure SM-58. Skeptical that you can discern the difference in warmth of a microphone on a recording with severe limitations. That's Nanci's voice...warm, welcoming, and at times intense. Please find me a Sennheiser that looks anything like that in 1984 (or anytime for that matter). I have worked for both companies...
Interesting, if I remember correctly Gilmer might have been part of the Blue Moon Orchestra. I never seen Nancy quite so talkative between every song. Think if I had to pick I would prefer just playing songs back to back.. I went thru My Grifith phase from 85 to 93. I think I became a bit disappointed with her when she was such a President Johnson fan and what that meant as far as her over all awareness

So beautiful back then
What a blessing to have these videos. Thanks so much, James.

There is an essential sweetness here that I just can't resist. RIP Nanci, thank you for your beautiful music.

ummmm....Nanci. With an I, dude.
Wait, there's a second guitar player here?
Wonderful to be transported to a Nanci show in 1984. James, your videos are like discovering a secret and magical wormhole through time and space
"you can't go home again"
Thanks for putting these up. Nanci was truly amazing and these videos show just how great she was in the most simplistic of settings.
Apologies is a gift. Thank you again sir.
Can’t believe she’s sick here and still sounds that good. Astonishing.
Yes.
Mesmerizing! The sound, the look, the personality!!!! And all that with a bad cold? I think I'll go have me a Shine Bock!
Just beautiful. Thank you so much for uploading 🙏
You've done it again. Mahalo, James. Keep it up!!!
Thank you for posting this. Made my whole Sunday. ❤
Incredible, with a cold yet!
20-albums.
Binging NG again.
That Martin sounds amazing…..
Awesome!!

Hi, that's Denice Franke. Her voice complemented Nanci's so well. I loved seeing the rapport between them in this video

Thank you Steven for your reply.
Thanks to Bruce Bryant and KPRC!

Is there a public photo of this Mary Margaret? Any published memoirs?
That vocal is completely dry. I don't think there's much/any processing going on. . . just beautiful classy singing. Wow

Huh, Denice sounds like she is on a Sennheiser though. Way warmer to me.

That’s the Nanci I knew.
She had a yodel back then ...does anybody have a recording.

Camera better later. 👍😀🌹
