I have adored Nanci's music for decades, listening to her songs thousands of times. They have moved me, inspired dreams, and helped me through hard times. This performance is unforgettable, especially "There's a Light Beyond These Woods." Thanks for sharing!
There was a period between 1987 and 2000 that I couldn't get enough of Nanci Griffith. I enjoyed turning my friends on to her and I would ask them to guess who it was; 9 times out of ten they would say Dolly Parton. I know, unbelievable but true. I really enjoy seeing a younger rendition of her so thanks for putting this out and I am subscribed!
@Thawne1338 no one really. I like all my friends more but I'm trying to respect someone who was close to her and saw her as a friend like I do mine. I love breaking bad though. Mom it's raisin bran crunch.
She’s been the greatest a couple of times. Though when people are at that level musically there is never a greatest, just great company. There’s an awful lot of more celebrated and awarded singer/songwriters that are nowhere near as good.

I just realized that even though that guitar is huge on her she still owns it. Just love her and always have.

Yes she was great all her years. But the sweetness of her voice before ‘cigarette voice’ set in is very much treasured by me.
Just astounding. The fact you recorded her is clearly priceless. I thank you for caring.

Really enjoying these...what a wonderful singer, songwriter and performer.. terribly missed!!
My favorite folk/country singer/songwriter. I’m not saying that she’s the greatest country folk singer songwriter, just my favorite. ❤❤❤

Hey James Gilmer, can you upload home video footage of Nanci Griffith performing in concert wearing white pants in 1989?🙂
Austin still has snobs.
