Shake just got better and brought out the best He is agreat writer and such a beautiful voice Go Texas
I don’t know how many songs have been written about chicken fighting, but this one certainly towers over all the rest combined.
That mickey white make me blue song sounds exactly like a song that would be sung and written by Daniel Romano. Listen to some of Daniel's country.
I just learned that Nanci Griffith's home video footage was shot in 1978.👍
The video description is wrong and this home video footage is from 1978, not 1979.👍
What a treasure! Thank you for posting, for sharing this Gem. If you have any additional information about the "Guy Clark 6 27 86 1st show." will you please share it?
These later shows are often sad, as he is so diminished. But there are still gems, power coming through. “You Are Not Needed Now” is that here.
This has made me cry. Thanks so much for posting! I’m Irish and I never saw her in concert or in any concert but I have everyone of her albums and her music carried me though my teens , twenties and thirties. I miss her a lot
So young!
Thanks for posting these. Brings back such memories. I was a friend of hers in the late 70s when her career was just evolving into what it was to become. Your rare videos are just more treasures she left us.
This was a little after I met her playing at the Hole in the Wall. She was irresistible. This version of her was always inside of all her performances to come.
That’s the Nanci I knew.
Thanks James… very much!!!
It’s fun watching young Nancy perform. Her music is beautiful. I wish she was still here.
rip
My hod, what a talent.
Wow.
This is phenomenal. Thank you for the upload.
Reminds me of my favorite Uncle❤❤❤😢🎉❤
This was 1979. James; thank you for posting this. I needed a good cry. And today I have been thinking of Eric a great deal and was very pleased to find this gem from when Eric and Nanci were just entering the era of recording albums. They were both such magical writers, performers, and presences.
James Gilmer thank you for this. I hope the next adventure is even better. Rest in peace my friend, you don't always have to meet in person to know a friend.
Just gut wrenching & beautiful. RIP James.
last of the true believers ends the set- always does for the last of the true believers
Good times! Thanks!
Thanks for posting this! Eric was a close friend and teacher of mine, and I really appreciate this gold mine.
Best upload ever?
The "Comin' Home" album cover, with the black-and-white drawing of their guitars next to each other, was absolutely classic. If Paul McCartney (left-handed) were to see that album cover, he would say, "Dang I wish John (right handed) and I had thought of that!"
This is hilarious! I'm so glad you posted this for those of us who too busy chasing cowgirls at Gilley's and missed out.
I have adored Nanci's music for decades, listening to her songs thousands of times. They have moved me, inspired dreams, and helped me through hard times. This performance is unforgettable, especially "There's a Light Beyond These Woods." Thanks for sharing!
My all time favorite singer song writer! Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on You Tube. RIP Nanci.

the most talented singer songwriter of our times- miss her
What an artist!
This is great ! Wonderful footage of these two. Thank you !
Don used to come into my guitar shop and quiz me on Spanish because I used to live in Mexico.
fuckin'a... i miss Russell and Hardin. what a pair! thank you to Dave Alvin for telling me to check them out half a century ago. some of the best musical advice i've ever received.
Why do I like these CIA operatives?
This looks like 1970s TV. But you got to love her.
I do.
Man is Awesome, as well as Mickie
What a gem to uncover! TY
Raw, grainy, and beautiful beyond words
As much as I love Nanci I have yet to shed a tear for her since her passing. I have no reason as to why, it surprises me. This got me close.
IMO, this is total gaabage.....
How come he isn’t doing backflips and have half naked dancers parading around, I guess he won’t make it. Lol. He is the master
Wonder how old she is here?
I feel like Rick about now
God bless you Nancy. Your music is a lasting treasure.
Nice!
Excellent! What a gem he was!!!😊
