Hey beautiful people, in this video I show you how I prep for a protective style which is so important on this hair growth journey.
To recap what I do is
1️⃣Shampoo with massaging brush (section of 4)
2️⃣Finger detangle in those sections gently with Tangle Slayer, rewetting to activate conditioner
3️⃣Squeeze out excess water, apply Deep Conditioner into smaller sections minimum 30 minutes
4️⃣Rinse, Apply Leave in Conditioner in sections of 6
5️⃣Blow out with my trusty rev air on speed 7 heat 1 until my hair is 95% dry
6️⃣ Finger detangle, brush through
7️⃣Blow out on speed 7 heat II for 10 secs max to get my hair stretched

I love your videos even though I'm relaxed. When I was natural for a year I would put it mini twists as a protective style, they were such a good option but can no longer do that now. I might put in large knotless braids. Protective styling is the best/easiest way to retain length IMO.

Thanks for sharing awesome video. Thanks for all of your tips as well. I don't think you should straighten your hair, just my opinion. I know is a lot of work, been there lol. Maybe just texturize it a bit. Whatever you do your crown is beautiful anyway. God bless and stay safe. 🙏🏽🤗🌺
P.S. How many hours did it take for the protective style.
She is talking about a silk press with a hot comb not a chemical straightener like a relaxer.. Texturizing is also chemically altering your hair. With a silk press her hair should revert to its natural pattern on wash day but she risks heat damage.
@@miniminott48 ohhhh I thought you was talking about straightening her hair. Gotcha!! Yes I know a texturizer has chemical what is less invasive than a perm. Ok. I get it. Expect some shedding. I was told to stay away from heat. But you say a little heat helps with detangling?
Some naturals use heat to detangle. Some others don't, I strongly recommend you to pick the option that's the most convenient to you 🙂 practising will help you figure out

Hey no only every other wash day. I alternate between braid outs and blow outs. So about once every 1-2 months

Our hair is so difficult to maintain, I know, but so many black woman rely heavily on weaves, wigs, and braids as protective styling without keeping their hair clean and moisturized.
