Thank you for this wonderful demonstration! I’ve literally just ordered this book so it was lovely to watch the process before I attempt my own. You made it seem really do-able. ❤
Glad it was helpful! You will find this book to be quite easy to follow and everything is really great and do-able! I am sure you will have a lot of fun with it! Keep me posted! ♥
So excited to find your channel. Love your easy calm style presentation and the watercolor swatching is so helpful. Thank you for highlighting watercolor brands that aren’t talked about. Will be trying the Leyton brand for sure. Have a wonderful Christmas
I purchased the Abstract W-C book by Leach some time ago & have loved it, especially when others demonstrate some of their projects based on that book. your examples at the start were Beautiful! and thanks for the Leyton paper suggestion: I ordered a pad today after hearing your description. ;-) Keep it up. I sub'd to see what else you do.
Thank you so much, @timh7246 ! The book is wonderful and the paintings are so much fun to do! I hope you like the Leyton paper! I find it extremely good for the price! Thanks for subscribing! I so appreciate it and thank you for sharing! Happy Painting! ♥
I’m in love with this! I will definitely be trying this technique. I love to watercolor, but I do not do well at realism! But this technique is beautiful and something I think I can do! I have such amazing watercolors, and I feel like they’re just sitting there going to waste saying, please use me! Haha! I have subscribed and liked you’ve definitely found a new follower!
@cher1292 Thank you so much! I am so glad this video has inspired you to work on this technique! I assure you, this is so much fun you will be trying out multiple color schemes andmake plenty of these paintings! The approach is not only easy but rather beautiful! And yes! You will be using all the colors that are sitting around! Thank you for subscribing! I so appreciate! ♥♥♥
Hi Dee! Thank you so much for watching the video! These are so fun and really relaxing. I am quite excited about them. I think this is something that you can never go wrong at, and I think it does give a really "feel good" ending, because it is so difficult to really mess up! I loved this so much! Glad you do them too! ♥♥♥
I'm loving that book, and especially very much helped by your example of what you're doing with it. (Super beginner here) I love the Tumuarta okay, but it doesn't have very good sizing, so the paint doesn't move around as nicely for me. (Maybe also because I'm a beginner. Thanks so much for your video!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'm so glad that the videos are helpful! I consider myself a super beginner as well, since my career has been in a different medium. But this journey with watercolors we are all together in it ♥ Tumuarta was good for this kind of painting, but I did try it later on (after this video) and did not perform as well. It's not a bad paper, better than most for the price tag, but I find that I keep going back to Arches every time, and after that would be Baohong or Hahnnemule.
Great video. I look forward to more like these. When you are a beginner like me it isn't always as easy as it looks. Watching others gives me courage to go for it.
Thank you so much for your feedback, Paula! I appreciate knowing that people enjoy these type of video so I can make them more often. Thank you so much for your support! ♥
Hi, Toni! Thanks for sharing your question: The M. Graham colors, I purchased the colors in tubes and then placed them in half pans. :) I was wanting to see how they dried and how they re-wet :) ♥♥♥ The Daniel Smith Palette came in half pans (the blue set) 😍 My niece in Colorado! Shout out to that gorgeous State! ♥
Hello @nanciecook9412 ! Thank you for your interest. My palette is a simplified palette by M. Graham. I purchased the colors individually. The colors are: Nickel Quinacridone Gold, Quinacridone Violet (which I did not use for this), Anthraquinone Blue, Olive Green, Quinacridone Rust, Maroon Perylene, Terra Rosa and Sepia. I mixed all these colors randomly really, and the only one not used was Quin Violet. Hope this helps! ♥ This limited palette is quite beautiful and earthy. I will be adding only three more colors to this sometime soon, and those colors will be Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber to complete this earth palette. M. Graham surprised me immensely. These color are amazing. Hope you like them. ♥
Thank you so much. The colors are beautiful and I’ll go hunt them down now much appreciated. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season and 2025 Looking forward to seeing more of your work. The ones shown I absolutely love
Thank you, @nanciecook9412 ! I look forward to hearing how you like them! Wishing you Happy Christmas and a wonderful new year as well! Happy Painting! ♥♥♥
