I'm responding years later... but try Rt. 521 then Rt 519 from Hope all the way up to Rt. 23 near High Point, then swoop down 23 for lunch in Port Jervis.
Just checked out Rte 49 on the sound end of the state. It ran me from The Delaware Memorail Bridge east towards Atlantic City. Nice road with some good straightaways, very minimal traffic except for the small towns like Bridgeton etc. Thanks for sharing this video. I'll have to ride north to check it out. 206 is a good ride even with all the lights.
go east from the falls to muskenetcong valley. Nice views and roads next to the river of that name. Had a GF on that area for years. Nice hills with ponds and rivers all over, except in winter of course..
Traffic circle at Lake Tiorati in Harriman state park NY, from take Arden road to leave the park. Its the one that goes uphill from the traffic circle just past the parking area for park goers.. I've been on it as a new rider and it was scary. Without a doubt one of the best roads. Ups, downs, s turns blind turns and I've done it in the night and there's no lights on that road. It's a nice ride and you'll be in the Tuxedo parts of NY.
I live in Hopatcong also. Those that circle the lake are fantastic.. We live in an area that has some of the best motorcycle routes around .. the roads themselves are are in bad shape. 😂
Been on so many rides since then I wouldn't be surprised if I've done it already. Thanks for the suggestion. Join our group we ride every Sunday. Just came back from a 230mile ride.. sport/tour motorcycle meetup of north jersey.
Nice shots of Lake Solitude. I grew up over there. There's some really good roads over by the lake. The one with the tunnel is cool but it's really short. If you go up into the mountains on the other side of route 31 there's some really great rides (Bethlehem twp and Glen Gardner area). You're also spoiled in north NJ. The best roads in the state are up there. Where and when do you normally meet up for Sunday rides?
I live in the area. There are much better places to ride. Cross into PA and follow River road. Hunterdon county has some beautiful roads southwest of Flemington as well. One last, ride to Highpoint state park. Fantastic riding up there too. I am still exploring myself 2 years into riding here. That's what brought me here to your video.
Cool video. I live in the area, so I drive and ride those roads often. IMHO, from the end of 31, if you were to make a left, thats a great ride. Stop at Hot Dog Johnnys for a dog... or two, then to DWG and into PA, thats an awesome ride. If you make a right like you did, from there to Hackettstown is also a great part of the ride. Hunterdon County has , in my opinion, some of the BEST rides in the state, and a lot of cheap good eateries or more fancy places if thats what you seek along the way.
Just looking on google maps, that looks like a good one. Is that an all day ride? Closest to that area I've done is PA side from Washington's crossing, up to Frenchtown, and back down.
frc928 take 519 into New York. Then take Rte 6 west into Port Jervis then catch Rte 97. It’s a great ride. You can head back to New Hope area via Rte 434/309/611. Enjoy the ride.
McKinnon Erario unfortunately I'm not that familiar with South Jersey roads. I have heard that River Road/29 north of 295 is a nice ride along the Delaware River. Not sure how far you are from there but you will end up going north anyway. My best suggestion for those who live in South Jersey is to have an off road capable machine and hit the Pine Barrens. You can also check out.... www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/New-Jersey_106.html and see what will work for you. Good luck.
McKinnon Erario 29 is nice once you get north of Trenton. It’s actually fun to go north on 29 and come south on 32 in PA. You get both sides of the Delaware, and coming south, you pass through New Hope. Near the towns of Washington Crossing in both PA and NJ, there’s some cool Revolutionary War buildings and stuff, and you can cross the bridge at roughly the same location the Washington crossed the Delaware. (Hence the name.) If you have the time, feel free to meander off of 29. You can find lovely stuff. 206 is a nice ride, actually; start on 206 in South Jersey, and go as far north as you can. Dave tip: get up to right around I-80, and then head west to the Delaware Water Gap. Let me know if you want more. I’ve got plenty.
Im sorry but this road is so bland... one of the best driving roads ik of is coming back north from sandy hook beach, take rt 36 and keep an eye out for a road called SCENIC DRIVE Soo many curves and elevation changes on a foresty hill right next to the water
This road was listed as the best riding road in Nj that's why I posted this video so people can see it before they ride it. I agree with you. There are many other roads better than this one.
According to Motorcycleroads.com it is. It was more about the ride than any particular road. In my opinion no it wasn't the best and I stated that in the video. The purpose of the video was to see if the website was correct. I found much better rides in NJ since then.

Route 519 from Stockton all the way to the New York border is my favorite road in NJ.
Just looking on google maps, that looks like a good one. Is that an all day ride? Closest to that area I've done is PA side from Washington's crossing, up to Frenchtown, and back down.
frc928 yes all day from where I am in South Jersey.
@@sammalone7352 Thanks, I'd be starting south of Trenton. Good to know.
